Popped in here on a day trip to Glenwood Springs. Wandered around downtown, looking for a bite to eat but nothing really zinged us. On our second turn around the block, we discovered the Bluebird Cafe! This hidden gem has a quaint, '70s retro era atmosphere, so cool!! My turkey sandwich was to die for and the avocado slices were fresh and delicious. My daughter got a bagel sandwich and proclaimed it excellent! I received a seasonal fruit cup, with my sandwich, and could have gotten a small dinner salad for a dollar fifty more. The bathroom was spotlessly clean as was the entire restaurant! The owner was there and was very kind and accommodating. Prices were reasonable and the portions were generous.

Friendly staff, 3 great vegan options, and an incredible chef that is completely willing to listen to recommendations and feedback on other plant based options. Ordered the bagel sandwich on an everything and it did not disappoint. Chef is fairly new here and when he came on there was just the avocado toast as a plant based option. He has since added two other options and is actively delightfully working toward adding more plant based options. So thoughtful, friendly and helpful. As a vegan visiting, I was very grateful for finding this gem of a lovely coffee shop that also had oat milk options.

Very disappointing. Our dining experiences in GS were for the most part awesome but this place was poorly run overpriced and the food was anemic in terms of flavor and portion. Ten dollar avocado toast and 12 dollar lox bagel. They couldn’t remember to take two cinnamon rolls out of the case for my daughters and couldn’t remember to make her drink. And acted put out and annoyed that I dare ask them to give me the foods I paid for. I wish I had four hands so I could give this place four thumbs down. Avoid at all costs.

As someone with food allergies, this cafe was very accommodating. They have plenty of vegan and gluten free options, as well as being able to work around any dietary restrictions. The atmosphere is also amazing, with a kind and understanding staff. If anyone decides to visit Glenwood Springs in Colorado, this is an affordable and safe place for both breakfast at and lunch.

This place is excellent, please don’t listen to the bad (and often very mean for no reason) reviews! We had the chance to stop by for breakfast on Saturday, the staff was very friendly and polite. The vanilla latte was one of the best coffee I’ve ever had, hands down! When we were enjoying our meal, I noticed there were a lot of customers stopping by the counter with various requests (for extra silverware, napkins etc…), the gentleman behind the counter always smiled and helped as needed, without a hesitation. Such a great place with a cool atmosphere, thank you for being so kind! My only suggestion would be to add more avocado on the avocado toast :)) as I noticed that the veggie bagel my friend got had more avocado than the avocado toast itself :) Other than that, everything was great, we’ll be definitely back!

The portions could be a bit bigger but it was quality nonetheless. The salad was very fresh and the quiche was superb! I will be back when I come back that way!!!

We were in Glenwood springs for the Christmas holidays and one relaxing day we decided to visit Bluebird for a light lunch! I really liked their Vegetarian sandwich, very fresh and lighter! It came with a bag of chips! The whole place had an amazing vibe! Live musicians and artistic painting and photographs on the wall! An eclectic experience!! If you visit Glenwood Springs, you must visit this cafe!

We stopped into this cozy spot on our way to the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs Pool. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and excellent coffee. Welcoming environment and a very friendly staff. The salmon quiche was unique and delicious. The fruit cup was probably one of the best I’ve ever had, which is kind of crazy in April!

Fun little coffee/sandwich shop. Cool vibes and welcoming atmosphere for all. Had some sandwiches and coffee. Quiet place, folks working and soaking in the morning.

White chocolate mocha is delicious. The food isn't terrible, but not great either. When you pay $9 for avocado toast, I would expect more than precooked bacon. The cafe was also extremely cold but maybe it was because I sat near the window.

Bluebird has the BEST indoor space in Glenwood. It is remarkably spacious, warm, comfy, and ideal for working by yourself or meeting with several people. I was not pleased with the value of the food menu, however. When I pay $10+ dollars for a sandwich, I expect a large one with special bread and plenty of ingredients. I think there were only a few slices of turkey and there was no dressing or condiment…which would be fine but they do not offer mayo or mustard. (There was ketchup and hot sauce avail, but that’s it.) I just can’t imagine a sandwich shop without classic condiments. To boot, I opted for the “fruit cup,” which turned out to be a shot glass of five pieces of fruit. See pic. I do love this place, and the young staff who work here are sweet, but I felt compelled to write a review when the following happened - MORE THAN ONCE! A couple walked in to get a coffee with leftovers in a boxed in their hands. The barista first thing said, “The signs says ‘no outdoor food.” She hadn’t even greeted them. They said they just wanted coffee to go, and still had to prove to her that they were leftovers. When the same sitch happened again I became wholeheartedly disappointed. To end on a positive note, I will actually likely return to Bluebird. Its location, indoor space, and WiFi are unparalleled in the area, and the cheesecake does look feather good ☺️

This place was a great stop for coffee and breakfast. Clean and quiet environment, had Katie as our server and she was amazing. I had the cold brew along with the French press. Both had great flavor. I highly recommend this place and support your local businesses!

I really liked the food and coffee at this place. The restaurant is cute and comfy. I would have given it a 5 star, but the lady at the register was a little rude (we were a party of nine and half the party had to leave earlier). She yelled asking us to clean our table. Otherwise, the place and the food is excellent.

This is the coffee shop you'd imagine would be in a fairy tale. It's cozy and also has a lot of different seating options from comfy chairs to read a book in, to tables to work on, to a gorgeous bar set up against a sweeping large window looking out onto the heart of Glenwood Springs. The staff are so sweet and will give you great recommendations if you don't know what you want. I'd highly suggest the Earl grey cream tea. This shop has become such a haven for me when I have work I need to get done. It's a whole experience so make sure you have time to sit down and enjoy the ambiance.

I always have such a wonderful time at Bluebird. The girls upfront are always wonderful and never get my drink wrong. I come here every weekend when I have the money on my way to work and am always treated with kindness and respect. The food is incredibly fresh and high quality (especially the avocado) and the coffee is my favorite in town. The girls (and one boy) working the bar deserve all the love in the world and I hope their day is fantastic!

I got a basic small latte and it was made perfectly by the friendly staff that work there. Had the whole place to myself right when they open but there was at least one homeless person. That being said, I wasn't disrupted and was able to complete the work I needed as that is my use for copy shops early in the morning. I would come back again!

If I could give lower than a star I would give a 1/2 star. It starts off with not enough tables. There is only one menu and taped to the counter with DO NOT TOUCH. How friendly is that?! I ordered the Bacon protein breakfast with avocado, egg, bacon and fruit for 9.75. My husband ordered bacon burrito and was told they were out of bacon. So he got the same dish as I did….funny both dishes had bacon. We were charged 24.00 for two of the 9.75 meals……someone needs a math class. We said something about it and he told us it was the fruit. However the menu said it all under one price. He then said you can’t believe menus. A table became available but it had no salt or pepper or anything for that matter, other not cleaned. None of the tables were cleaned after anyone left during the time we were there. When they brought our food the man set it down then started to walk away. My husband asked about silverware, the man turned around slapped it down hard on the table totally annoyed at the request and walked off. The food was okay, the bacon was so thin you could practically see through it. There is really no service here. You take your dishes and trash….oh maybe we were supposed to wipe down the table. For being one of the top 10 places in Glenwood to have breakfast…….I’m scared to see the others. I’d rather go to Village Inn. Save your money and frustration and eat else where. This place is horrible

Between the signage, the “do not touch the menu!” written on the menu, and “There’s still a coffee on the bar! 🙄… it kind of feels like they don’t like having customers. I totally get it from working in customer service but this doesn’t feel like the right approach. Also the “Restrooms for customers only” sign really takes away the message of acceptance i was hoping to receive from here. The food was great but will not be returning.

Excellent. So happy we didn’t listen to the bad reviews. This is the best Breakfast we’ve had on our entire cross-country trip. It can difficult for us to find good vegan options, but not here. Our breakfast burritos and Lattes was A+. We spent $15 each for a filling Breakfast Burrito and Latte. Great Prices. Chill Vibe. Good Food. Thanks Y’all!

Fantastic fair trade coffee! Wonderful breakfast! I have a lot of food allergies and I was able to oder a totally clean breakfast- protein plate. Gluten free options. Dairy free options for lattes. Highly recommend this place!

This restaurant is perfect! Great covid protocols, amazing food, and a perfect indie atmosphere. We had the best quiche we've ever had, as well as the smoothest latte ever. I used to be a barista, and the latte was incredible. They also have great bacon and avocado toast! This place is expensive, but well worth it for the atmosphere and the very fresh and healthy food. 11/10 would come back!

IMHO, this is just a coffee shop with no decaf, teeny goodies, and a collegiate art co-op vibe. I was struck by all the "empty plate" when they brought my food and the fruit in an espresso cup. Seriously. When I dumped it out, I did get 3 blueberries, but, that just doesn't quite cut it for me. Some reviewers apparently love the vibe, but I see why it gets such divergent reviews: you either love the vibe or it's just... "meh," which was what it was for me. I have no desire to return.

Great atmosphere! Batista's were sweet and knowledgeable! I didn't know what I wanted to drink but said I wanted something sweet and hot! Best coffee I've ever had! Thank you haylie! Avocado toast was on point! Will definitely come back when we return to glenwood!

Stopped in for their gluten free breakfast. It was delicious! I got their traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and gf toast. The toast was great! But they have even more gf breakfast options than just that. I even got myself a gf chocolate muffin. The coffee was tasty as well. Great, cozy place.

We had a poor customer service experience. We arrived right at opening and seemed to be an inconvenience to the girls working the counter. We did not receive a greeting of any kind, and were even ignored when we said good morning. The coffee was good and the atmosphere pleasant, but hospitality was seriously lacking.
