I’ve been training at KO on and off for a long time. I have to say that it is hands down the best place to come to learn Muay Thai and combat sports in general for beginners in London. The coaches are amazingly experienced and attentive, and the classes are well thought out and comprehensive, covering fitness and technique in equal measures. However, there are a couple of things that have bothered me as time went on. The first is not a huge gripe - having to buy uniform as a requirement to attend non beginner Muay Thai classes is annoying but on some level does contribute to a sense of discipline and community. Even so, it’s the only gym I’ve come across that does this, and while it makes perfect financial and marketing sense it does ultimately feel a little unnecessary. In that vein, the number of people attending classes needs better management - classes are often overflowing, with not enough space for people to train effectively. The odd bump or fall into someone is one thing. Not being able to move around properly or kick while training is another. Packed classes are always going to be a problem in London. But capping the number at a couple of people less than currently attend at peak times would hugely improve the experience overall.

The gym is owned and run by Master Bill Judd. Basically he is a legend of the sport with deep knowledge of Muay Thai, boxing and kick boxing. The trainers under Bill are dedicated, knowledgable and passionate about martial arts. This shows in the top quality training classes that cater to beginners, intermediated and those advanced enough to Fight competitively. The prices are very fair and you get a hell of a lot for your money. The gym is huge with three rings, lots of bags, equipment and large mat areas.

High quality training and good atmosphere. Changing rooms could do with some reorganising. Ajarn Bill is a genius when it comes to fight insight and theory. Highly recommended.

I discovered Muay Thai 4 months ago and signed up for the intro classes. The intro classes were taught very well by Kru Brad and Kru Bill. They teach you the correct form and technique. The lessons are structured in a certain way for you to learn the art of 8 limbs. I know this as I have been going every week and seen an improvement in my technique from the lessons. Kru Brad and Kru Bill also corrects your mistakes on the spot and gives an explanation why you should correct the mistakes. The atmosphere at KO is really good, everyone respects each other, the staff and the members make you feel welcomed. Also Kru Bradley has the best playlist and he bangs out the best workout tunes.

KO is honestly the perfect gym to learn muay thai. Kru Bill who owns the gym has produced multiple world champions, so you can rest assured the teaching and training is top level. If you've never done muay thai before don't worry about attending an intro class, Brad who runs intro and General class is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He's a champion in his own right now and a muay thai purist so expect the training to be challenging and technical, but don't be intimidated to join his class you will enjoy the experience. If you love muay thai, and are looking for an old school gym with a sense of community then KO is the place for you. Training is taken seriously and there is a culture of respect so don't expect it to be a boxercise class.

I’ve been training at ko gym for the last 3 months now and wow, what an amazing gym. The staff are wonderful and friendly, the atmosphere is safe, yet challenging. I have always been fearful of going to a martial arts gym as some people can use their skill to bully rather than teach, but there’s none of that at KO gym. Egos are minimal so it’s the perfect place to learn and enjoy your training. I would recommend to anyone, regardless of weight, gender or general anxieties. This is the place to be!

This is a great gym. I've been training MT for 9 months here and you get great coaching no matter who's the coach on the day: Kef, Brad, Bill, Jonathan the list goes on.. I hope to train here a long time

It wouldn’t be fair if i didn’t give an unbiased opinion and their due as i’ve the ko spirit and Bill himself called me a student of his which in my islamic culture is like the pinnacle of achievements. He emits kindness and happiness to everyone who walks through the door. His calibre as a coach is amongst the top three coaches in the world as he introduced muay thai / kickboxing to the west. classes feel like physical academics and this is not a over praise of him from my culture. As for their other coaches let’s start with Bradley who is a current fighter in muay thai and has beaten thais in rajadamdwrn and has trained with samrat someone who is the best thai fighter of all time! Bradley is extremely likeable and goes above and beyond for his students. Now their boxing coach Henry, is a current fighter and is humble which is hard to find with superb skills and quite sharp i say you can achieve a lot with one session. let’s now get the grappling out the way as a striker all i know they have a dagestani wrestling coach the same place where Khabib abdulmanakevich Nurmahamagov is from. Their jujitsu coach is a world champion and teaches well i’ve noticed within one lesson as a striker i’m comfortable in saying i’ve learned the triangle coach. The gym environment is clean with three arches each dedicated to each discipline. It is clean with a lot of equipment for each discipline, they have their own branded equipment which is reasonably priced if you wanted to by gloves or shorts. Concerning strength and conditioning Cat is very competent and is a ex boxer and at level 4 personal training your not getting a regular level 3 personal trainer who works at a commercial gym environment where they don’t care about you returning as long as they get paid. They have a masseuse Sarah who is peakest level qualified a world champion judo and ex pro bodybuilder. I’ve used both the above and i don’t think i need to look elsewhere. Special mention to their current two sport champion Roxana who is famous but hasn’t forgotten the rest of the people i’d say she’s taken the stigma away from muslim women doing sports. Imagine going into a fight gym full of men back in the day fifteen years ago and telling bill i want to be champion and 15 years later your a champion in boxing and kickboxing, that’s pure granite in courage. Special mention to rory a black belt kick-boxer who is a coach here quite funny he is, and coach kev who teaches intricately. lastly allow me to mention the best part of this academy/ gym, they have a curriculum from novice to intermediate to advance so don’t worry if you just want to come down just for a chat and relieve steam which you may have accumulated from a bad day at work or university and school. Their way of teaching is systematic and anyone who’s helped a fighter to beat joana jzec a ufc female champion and petbonchu the most decorated thai world champion at his prime deserves respect. I am now exclusive to this gym and let me just lastly mention they have yoga here and if i’m not mistaken they’re building a fourth arch for the. the community as a cafe so you can do your uni work there and go straight to training, it should overtake the likes of starbucks costa and pret. I apologise if i haven’t done anyone justice or if i’ve offended anyone here this is just my personal experience here. Take it easy……. 🙏

I trained with Kru Bill for 3 years at KO some twenty years ago, What you get out of this experience is not only a superb physical and mental conditioning, fighting skills and sense of fun, but also etiquette, composure , controlled confidence, humility.. and self respect. If you are serious about training , even if you are not a world champion material, you will be enriched with those traits forever and cherish the memory of every moment years later, long after the gloves have been hanged up. Great to see them still going strong ! Thank you Bill..

I’ve been training here since January and this is definitely not your average muay thai/martial arts gym - a fantastic place to train, supportive community, inspiring coaches, friendly fellow fighters and great facilities (rings, bags, weights, new and quality pads & body belts, big open space for classes... showers!!). Thanks to KO i’m enjoying muay thai more than ever before! Highly recommend :)

Went to watch an inter-club here. The facilities are very poor and unsanitary. The toilet in the gent's changing room was overfilling and not flushing. People were walking around without shoes while using the toilet and then would go walk on the mats after. Bill was very rude. He was constantly yelling at people who were standing near the tyres that had no sign on them. There were signs not to wear shoes on the mats, but KO gym staff constantly wore shoes on the mats. A bit hypocritical if you ask me. The fights looked mismatched to favour fighters out of KO Gym/Combat Academy. Wish I could give this place 0 stars, but I guess a 1 will do. Definitely better options out there for fight gyms.

If you're the kind of person in the habit of making sexist or racist comments, you won't last long and might wind up writing a 1 star review as you're escorted off the premises. If you're honest and you just want to train, these coaches know their stuff and the attention to detail and the little corrections make a whole lot of difference that you just don't get at commercial gyms. KO value individuals and morals over profit and the family atmosphere is all inclusive. I started training here Oct 2018 and am now here 4-6 times a week because I love it, and I still keep learning something every session. Can't thank the coaches enough!

I haven’t been in over 6 months because I moved to Middlesex. I just checked google to see if there’s any Muay Thai gym closer to me and it made me realise how much I miss training at KO. All the trainers are very professional and knowledgeable and it’s the cheapest place I’ve been to (whether payg or monthly). Bill is like an uncle to students and Ruksana is also very friendly too. I’ll be signing up again this week, no doubt!

Absolutely love this gym, the atmosphere in the gym is friendly and welcoming and respectful, yet at the same time everyone takes the training seriously. The quality of the coaching is amazing, for beginners and for experienced practitioners. Facilities are great, loads of bags, 3 rings, S&C area is well equipped. Can’t recommend the place highly enough! Thanks Bill, Brad Kef and all the others at KO

Great place to train. Not a commercial type gym, a real fight gym. Although its a real fight gym they cater for everyone. From beginner to pro. They have a rich history with many World Champions over the year. The coaches really keep an eye on every individual and make sure everyone is developing at there own pace. Compared to other martial arts gym this one is big so never feels crowded. I would highly recommend it.

Had a trial class here - loved it. The focus was more on skill than general exercise so if you want to learn, this is where you learn. Though I do wish my partner actually listened to instructions rather than doing whathever he was taught in another martial arts (e.g. we were asked to "stand in place" and exchange jabs / crosses and block but he was dodging / moving backwards) One piece of feedback I would have is that cleaniness of the shared equipment needs to be addressed. I understand that the equipment is shared but it still needs to be cleaned. For example, the shin guards reek which mean they haven't been washed in a long time / aired. After the gym session, I couldn't get the smell out of my nose but maybe that's just me. Besides that, really enjoyed the session as I learnt something.

Great gym to train at for all levels. I started out a few months ago with little to no combat experience. The KO team took my goals into consideration and supported me in the right way, helping me develop my technique and better my fitness before entering a more competitive environment. I have recently done my first interclub and plan to do many more! Not to say this is the only option, competitive sparring/interclubs are by no means compulsory. On top of that, the staff are all very friendly and helpful, whether it's equipment recommendations or handling injuries. Would highly recommend to those looking to begin their martial arts journey, or sharped techniques while being fitter and healthier!

It's a good gym in the sense of getting fit, learning skills. But I can't see improvements in: 1.Changing room dirty and smell urine, in the changing area floor is wet with urine and people keep they bags on the seat. All seats stored with bags, you rarely have place to sit down while changing. 2. Physique building exercise are most of the time the same. You don't need instructor to tell you what to do because you do the same thing countless times. (Boring and annoying) 3. You have to buy your own pads, because you not allowed to pad with gloves, and pads they force you to use stink with death.

Just want to say that it's been a pleasure to train at KO Combat Academy. This is my first time boxing and being in that kind of environment. Each and every coach have been fantastic. A special mention to Coach Henry who has taken every session I have been in. Confidence has grown week on week and I'm looking forward to the next sessions. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to learn the fundamentals of boxing. Great atmosphere.

Never boxed before joining KO, was guided through intro classes and assessments in to advanced level within a couple of months. I am now in much better shape compared to just doing cardio and lifting weights in the gym. Great community to be apart of and a special shout out to coach Henry, he is a top coach and his classes have helped me improve massively. Working towards my first fight now.

Best place to train Muay Thai in my opinion because the classes are intense training both cardio and techniques. Good atmosphere and good teachers. Training wise, no complaints. The only issue however is the class sizes for non-beginners in the "experienced" classes in the evenings. They seem to be overflowing where you can barely move without bumping into someone. Before the gym used to have beginner, general, and advanced classes to split this up more and that was a good idea. Capping the number of people, or splitting it up into another place to train might be needed as some feedback.

What’s not to love about this place? So many amazing classes you don’t know which class to attend. Amazing coaches and a place where RESPECT is actually valued. Without sounding senti this place saved me. Helped me want to quit smoking and drinking without even knowing. Now my Friday nights are spent in KO and not out wasting my life away with poisons, wether it’s in a class or just using the facilities. And I’ve seen a major difference. My mind is more clear and my lungs feel a lot cleaner. So will forever be grateful to this place and all the coaches 🙏🏽❤️

I first used KO Boxing Gym (E1 4ET) via Ultra White Collar Boxing since that is where the training for the London event was being held.  However I signed up as a member of the gym which allows me to attend classes independent of UWCB.  The classes have been brilliant and they run all week, often more than once a day, so you have an alternative in case other commitments prevent you attending. I have very limited boxing experience.  Before KO I had gone to a handful of sessions at a local amateur boxing club but each time I never really did anything more than a warm up, a run, skipping and bag work.  Plus the bag work was unsupervised which meant I wasn't getting any feedback and so I could've been reinforcing bad habits.  However at KO the coaches are very much involved in what people are doing and provide constructive criticism along the way which makes me feel acknowledged and confident that I'll develop.  Plus there is a lot of emphasis on technique which is fundamental. I have been coached predominantly by Coach Bill, Coach Bradley and Coach Danny who are all very approachable and knowledgeable and readily available to answer any queries I have.  I haven't met all the coaches but I'm sure they all work to the same high standards.  The coaches have your best interests at heart and encourage progression. The gym has a really positive atmosphere and great energy.  Everyone is welcome.  There is no discrimination on any basis - gender, race, religion, colour, sexual orientation, age, etc.  Paying attention and working hard are the only requirements I'm aware of.  I came in as a thirty-three year old with little experience but wasn't overlooked because of my background.  Both the staff and people training have been very welcoming and I felt like part of the gym from day one. I have only been coming for a few weeks but already I have learned a lot.  I am benefitting physically since I feel as though my conditioning and technique are improving with every session.  However the psychological gains have personally been the most significant thing.  Discipline, focus, goal-setting and time management are emphasised and practiced in the gym but are also benefitting me outside of it.  I generally procrastinate less and feel more productive and empowered.  Time management isn't my strongest point.  It's a work in progress but it's definitely improving. To finalise I wouldn't hesitate recommending KO Boxing Gym to anyone.  I came to KO through UWCB but will continue attending afterwards as the classes have been amazing for my fitness and wellbeing. Thank you, KO!

Classes range from pad, technical, body conditioning sessions to bag blast and even yoga. We all wear ko kit to show discipline and equality. Gym ethics are very strong..hard training, helping others, respect your partners & demanding coaches, believe in yourself and trusting the process will make you physically and mentally stronger not just as a fighter but outside the gym too.

Bill and his team at KO (Manny, Danny etc) are 110% committed and really care about the welfare of their boxers and their gym. I have been training for an UWCB event at there. I can say first hand in the 8 weeks training you get they will make sure you are schooled in the art of boxing, know how to defend yourself, get you appropriate sparring and ring time opportunities and that your cardio is ready to cope with the fight night. There is no nonsense and there is not much time but they will get you there and look after you in every way. Don't miss classes and don't hesitate to speak to them or ask for extra support as they are more than happy to give it and everyone is welcome

Having tried several martial arts gyms before, KO Gym is my favourite by a long way and I've been training here now for 5+ years. The right place if you want to get seriously fit and improve in Muay Thai. Challenging yet friendly classes and there is a nice sense of camaraderie around the gym. The instructors are all active or former fighters including world champions and know their stuff. You can really tell that Muay Thai is their passion rather than a job. Don't expect any fancy facilities though, this is a proper old-school gym.

Fantastic place to train. I'm a beginner who's been training for white collar boxing for the last six weeks. The coaches are really friendly, they make you feel welcome and they're amazing teachers. They clearly explain all the techniques you need to learn but are tough when they need to be. ive been coming to this gym for 8 weeks now for training for a white collar boxing match, and this gym is fantastic! i have had no experience in boxing and it was quite daunting for me to enter to the gym but the coaches and staff have made me feel very welcome. coach danny and bill are amazing coaches who are very knowledgeable and push you to be the best version of yourself. they are very supportive and have made me feel comfortable being in the gym the gym itself is a community gym and thats the vibe you get when youre in the gym, you get staff and gym users who all motivate you to keep pushing yourself past the limits that you have set yourself since coming here i have felt nothing but positive energy from this gym in comparison to other gyms who have mocked me for my size. not once has anyone in this gym mentioned my size. instead they judge you on your work ethic and see if you are pushing yourself if you want to go to a gym where people want you to be the best, be in a friendly and positive atmosphere, then this is the gym for you

Everyone whos attended has also been really respectful and has made me feel at home. Honestly couldn't recommend this place enough!

KO gym is awsome, the coaches really care and push you to your limits, safely. If you want to learn and upskill in a combat sport (myself boxing, but i see they do kick boxing and other sports). I would highly recommend this gym.

The gym is great and all the instructors here have been extremely helpful and supportive. In particular, as a novice boxer, I really like the course taught by Henry. I give my highest recommendation to the gym!

Really nice environment. Boxing and Thai areas, as well as a spartan gym available on the site. Really great people. Great coaches Lots of respect.

Great coaches, more classes on the timetable than any other martial arts gym I know of and a place to become part of the best community. 10/10 would recommend. Going to KO is the best part of my day.

I was training here as part of UWCB for a boxing charity event that took place this month a few days ago. The training that was given was very good pushing you to reach those fitness levels and fundamentals in boxing to prepare you for your fight. The coaches have been excellent in motivating you through those trainings and getting you to learn the art of boxing. I would like to give a special thanks to: Coach Henry for all those trainings and classes of yours I had attended. I will never forget those killer classes that still made me want to come back! Coach Kef for your wonderful and motivating 1:1 session’s! Coach UG for your amazing joint session and playlist to get me through it! & Of course Coach Bill, you are truly motivating in your pep talks and the way you run your classes & sparring sessions. It has been an absolute pleasure training here and I hope to be back soon! Thank You to all of the KO team.

Been training here as part of a white collar boxing event. They have a lot of great coaches and have done a good job so far of building up the information levels so that the group can slowly learn the foundations of boxing without being overwhelmed. Our group are with coach Henry - he is easy to work with and has a great understanding of the sport, giving the group clear information and support in terms of getting ready to fight. I'll hopefully be continuing to train here after the event!

I’ve been training for the UWCB event at KO with Bill and Henry, both amazing trainers who have excellent expertise and are super supportive. Somewhere like this could be seen as intimidating to a woman but the environment is warm and welcoming. It’s a tough work out but you’ll see yourself grow and become stronger quickly. Really excited to continue training her after having such a positive experience over the last 8 weeks
