Yatala pies are just amazing. I often find myself coming up with a reason to drive down the coast just to get one with their chips and gravy. If you haven't gone before and you live around the area, what on earth are you doing with your life? Go get some! The staff are always super friendly and the drive thru is what dreams are made of. Super efficient.

It was our first time visiting Yatala pies. In fact, we drove from Brisbane city to Yatala just to try the pies, and I’d say it was worth it. The place was very crowded probably because it was a Sunday evening. But there’s plenty of place to sit down and enjoy your meal. Even though there was a queue at the counter to order food, the staff were surprisingly quick and we didn’t have to wait long. All pies are freshly baked and hot. We ordered a pepper steak pie, ham and cheese beef pie and an apple pie with a side of potatoes and gravy. The pies were delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. There are condiments available for you to take as much as you like just near the food counter. You can also order some hot coffee from their cafe. There’s plenty of parking within the premises of the shop as well as outside the shop. For those who wants to take some home rather than dining in, there’s a drive through service available. There’s toilet near the rear entrance, it waa not so clean and had paper towels lying around on the floor. We’d surely go back there to try their other pies.

Steak & mushroom pie is delicious. Steak, bacon & cheese is good too, but a little too salty. The apple pie is not bad, not too sweet. Great pies!

My first time yatala pies. It was hard to make an order because lots of variety of pies with a long line back of me. Recommend you see the menu and choose pies before you line up. Crispy outside savoury inside. I will try desert pies next time.

Made a quick pit stop at Yatala Pies on the drive back home to Sydney. Pies were delicious. Bought extra pies to take home because we loved it so much. The ratio of pastry and meat was on point. And the portion size was big! I enjoyed the sweets as well. My favourites was the pepper steak, steak and bacon, apple pie, vanilla slice with fresh cream.

First time visiting the famous Yala pies. That was really good. The pies were very flavorful. Service was very fast as well. And the atmosphere and the location is pretty good because you can just go to the exit. Must visit if you go to Queensland.

I have been here countless times before. The last time I visited, I wasn't that impressed with the pie I brought. This time I decided to try something different. This place ALWAYS appears busy. What I noticed today was how quickly the line moved despite being lined up out the entry door. They seem to have a very good system that works to get the people in line served & through the shop. I also noticed they seemed to have a similar system running with the drive through. So even though the drive through was busy, the line moved really efficiently I purchased a curry steak pie & a Vanilla slice & both of them were so enjoyable. Plenty of seating if you want to stop and stretch your legs on the way home.

Very tasty classic pies, good fries, gravy and mashy peas. Deserts are ok. Very popular , fast efficient service, very reasonable prices, totally worth a visit.

Wow!!! What a busy pie shop!! Line up outside the door! And apparently, today is a quiet day!! Hubby had a Curry pie and Mushy Pea pie he loved them both, I had a Mushy pea pie too. I think needed a little more salt. But I did enjoy it. Heaps of pies, pasties and sweets to pick from. Also offers coffee. It is very easy to find off the highway. Seating inside and out. Great atmosphere!

Food was great. Pies came straight out of the oven. Fresh and hot. The customer service too was exceptional. I can understand why this place has been running for 150 years. Definitely would recommend this place to everyone. A++

Tasty pies with a huge range- sweet and savoury options, family sized and normal sizes. There is a wide range to suit people of different dietary restrictions too. The chicken pie was very nice - good pastry texture and amount, and filled with real meat. Highly recommend it if you’re driving on the road!

When I got told it's one of the best pies you'll have, I thought my colleagues were joking. One bite of the pepper steak pie and I was hooked. The pie was full of flavour and chunks of meat. You just know the pie will be great when you bite into it and the gravy is so thick it doesn't drip all over the place, it defies gravity and stays inside the pie. Top off the pie with one of many dessert selections and you'll have yourself the best pie lunch. Cannot recommend this place more! I'll definitely be going back to Yatala pies on my next trip to Brisbane.

The bakery is really well presented with two old style pie ovens mounted into the walls behind the counter. There are family sized pies in the fridge display and lots of sweet offerings. I didn't arrive until 4.00pm which is always risky with pie place but the full selection seemed to be available and there were about eight staff members waiting to serve. It was still quite busy but I was served almost straight away. The pies are served in a burger style container. I went with my favourite, Steak, Cheese and Bacon and just because it sounded good, the Lamb Coconut Curry. The Steak, Cheese and Bacon pie was very large at 317 grams. For $6.80 this represented exceptional value. It hardly fit in the container and was a little bit scrunched in there. I really liked the pastry from the first bite. Nice and crisp but still buttery and flaky. Inside the gravy was a little anaemic looking but still quite tasty. There was an ample amount of cheese and bacon. The pie was mostly mince but I did find a chunk of steak in the last bite. The steak was really tasty and had the pie had more, I would have rated right up there as far as cheese and bacon pies go. Still, If this was advertised as a mince, cheese and bacon pie, I would have given it at least an 8.5/10. Maybe even a 9. It was good. The Lamb Coconut Curry Pie. This was a massive pie at 368g. At 7.90 the price is very reasonable. First up, I need to say I am not a big curry fan but the combination sounded like it may be something I would enjoy for a change. The pastry was good like the cheese and bacon pie and there was plenty of filling. The coconut flavour of the curry really didn't come through much and I was not the biggest fan of the flavour. Curry lovers may differ in opinion. There were a lot of lamb pieces throughout the pie so not complaints about that. I don't really feel I am qualified to rate this curry pie except to say that it was edible and probably a decent example of a curry pie. Overall, I would consider returning for another round of pies at Yatala. The cheese and bacon was very nice and enough to get me back in the door.
