This place is my must go in GC. However my last visit wasn’t that impressive. The fish is much smaller also not as soft , juicy like it used to be. You can see in the photo is same length but much narrow fillet. Also fish taste like unfrozen product. Crab expensive but very waterish, feel like soak in water for a better selling price. Also crab is not that fat, you can see gap in the shell. Lift up the game please.

Seafood are fresh, staff is quick and approachable. Prices are fair, choices are plenty. There's oysters, lobsters, prawns, raw fish. There's also fish and chips section too. At certain time of day, there's pelican feeding session where it's definitely worth to stay and watch.

Fried fish in thin batter. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside- love the crispy coating. The chips- crispy and fluffy (delicious)😋. Don’t forget to get the tartar sauce to pair with your fish and chips- perfect match. Charis Seafoods is definitely recommended. •What did we order• Two boxes set meal for $28.90. •Pelican feeding time 1:30pm• Amazing 🤩

Long time fan of Charis. Decent quality seafood at a reasonable price. I typically grab a dozen or two of their fresh oysters (this time we got pacific and Tasmanian) with a few wedges of lemon and sit outside on one of the benches to devour them.

Never again! So shocked with the serving size of our fish! Displayed and cooked, what a difference? Heard so much about this shop but was so surprised at the lack of care and customer service shown, even after we complained. Thanks a lot Charis seafoods for a horrible experience on the Gold Coast.

ONE star for the Fried food/fish n chips. Awful, worst fish n chips I've had on the Gold Coast. Fish was foul, from frozen, tasted old, watery, bland and rubbery. Chips and scallop potatoes were equally bad, soggy and just not good. We asked for chicken salt and they didn't put ANY salt on it instead. We were really embarrassed because we took our friend there who was visiting from Colorado. We should've taken him to our local corner fish shop instead. We had just watched the Pelican feeding, were starving and had walked there (3km round trip) so figured we'd just eat there. Absolute tourist trap, plenty of much better local spots around. Fresh seafood is 4 stars, the oysters are always good, the shrimp/prawns that were peeled were just okay, next time I'll stick with shell on and peel myself. The sashimi was good. Will have to try their bugs and lobster one of these days. Pelican feeding is sometimes 5 stars, sometimes 3 (when the guy who talks about the birds a bit and puts on an actual show which is also educational, it's great), but the other guy just goes out and feeds them, maybe weekdays vs weekends are different. Sometimes the crowd can get annoying and they don't give the birds the space they need, and parents don't parent their misbehaving children properly. I would maybe suggest placing temporary stakes or semi circle of rope around the area.

Fresh seafood variety and for the fried items, they were cooked perfectly. Great for families with a park area, sand area, and shallow waters. 1:30pm there's a pelican feeding time and it can become crowded but the crowd will come then go quickly.

They feed pelicans at 1.30pm. there's a lot of pelicans and they come really close. It's an amazing spectacle!! The food is always a pretty good quality and was fast despite large crowds. A seafood basket and some extra fish bites and a couple pineapple fritters came to $30. That's pretty good value.

A variety of fresh and live seafood. Order from the deli or have your seafood cleaned and portioned for later enjoyment. Friendly staff to help and advise on your choice. Very popular so be patient. Pelicans get fed every day at 13h30.

Delicious food. Plus if you get here before 1:30 & get a good spot. Get to watch the pelican's being fed by the cafe. Fun for all ages

Well, being a POM doesn't help, when we have fish and chips it's Cod, Haddock In Australia it's Barramunda, Flake( shark) so it's not quite the fish and chips we are used to, however was very tasty. The stars are not five, as This place is mega busy, so service was as quick as they could, the atmosphere was busy, so I ate on the beach, and the food was 5 STAR. Pelicans come each day to be fed by the restaurant

A very delicious fish and chips shop with your classic Aussie vibe. The sashimi was very affordable and fresh. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked and seasoned with the right amount of chicken salt as requested. Service was friendly and fast. Only downside is that parking can be quite difficult if you come right at peak hours and it can be difficult to find a table nearby to eat.

Fresh seafood beautifully cooked and enjoyed while sitting at the waters edge and watching the pelicans fly in for their feed provided by Charis staff.

Great fish n chips. Plenty of seafood options. Pelican feeding bonus. Not a lot parking, very hard to find a spot.

Just the tastiest fish I have had in a long while. Fish n chips were super fresh and very hot! And the loveliest place to enjoy your meal, overlooking the magnificent Broadwater. Only downside, if you would call it that, we would have liked to purchase pack for 2 etc. Awesome range of seafood including fresh crabs and lobsters. Have a swim then enjoy your fish n chips by the water. Easy parking street side and wheelchair access.

Good fish and chips, service could be more friendly. Good batter with balance of batter and grease to seafood. The pineapple fritters were great. It was nice to sit on the beach outside and eat our meal. We went for an early dinner at about 5pm and beat the rush. The girl behind the counter looked and sounded like she did not want to be there. She was yawning while talking to me and had a bit of a cranky or bored tone. She answered my questions but just seemed like she would rather be any place than speaking to me. This same girl yelled out to everyone to move outside to wait for orders and the girl who gave me my order seemed a lot friendlier. They threw in a few extra calamari pieces which was nice, but the 15% public holiday surcharge was a bit unexpected and steeper than I would've expected. A good meal though and the beach is lovely. A great place for young kids to swim.

Have to say this is a blast from the past. I remember coming up here for my fish and chips as a kid and now I brought my kids here. Good old fashioned service with plenty of food for everyone ( we have a family of 6) and we bought the family pack. Calamari and fish was as fresh as it gets, the kids loved the crab sticks and the pineapple fritters. Want fresh fish, crabs or other seafood ? This is the spot for you, check this out

A nice place to have fish and chips in Gold Coast. Was recommended this place by colleagues. Was kinda hyped for this place. There is always a line, even at 2pm. Variety of seafood as well such as sashimi and oysters. However, I got their Fish and chips without drinks and a large Calamari for altogether $20.90. The portions were great tho. Especially the calamari. Felt more like squid than batter. The fish However was nice but not bombastic. It was good, flaky and had flavour. The chips However were soggy and were oily. We had none that were crispy sadly. And we had to add salt. Overall, still a good place to have Fish and Chips. Servers are friendly as well.

Bought a piece of crumbed barramundi, small chips, 6 x calamari and a medium salad tonight. Fish was very well cooked, service non-existent and the lettuce and cucumber in the "garden salad" was frozen and transparent! So gross. Unfortunately we didn't see until we got back to our apartment so couldn't go back. Not worth the $30+. At least the chips were nice.

Came here for some good ol fish and chips and it was good. The fish was nice, the batter even nicer and the chips where not the traditional thick chips but they were close enough. The mayo was sweet which was not very pleasant with fish but maybe it's an Aussie thing. Parking is an absolute mare so arrive in good time and also seating is a bit of a faff to get.

Located on the foreshore this place gets really busy. Lots of fresh seafood. They do have standard fish and chips which are well done and also burgers for those non fish eaters. There are tables and chairs outside in the park and play equipment for kids. Well worth bringing down the swimming togs for a quick swim in the water.

Love Charis. Great selection of fresh seafood laid out for you to choose and then have cooked the way you like it. Fantastic location as well, right on the water. Perfect for families and kids alike. Daily Pelican feeding is something you don't usually see everyday.

Located in Labrador, Gold Coast, this is an icon as far as seafood goes. It has been around for a long time. You can get fresh seafood, cooked seafood, salad, sauces and even eat there. Some of the seafood I saw included fish (bream, cod, tuna, salmon, snapper, trout), octopus (frozen), scallops, mussels, prawns of different sizes, oysters, crabs, lobster, Moreton Bay bugs, etc. There is a good range of fresh salads and same with the sauces. Plenty of staff around behind the counter also means you get served quickly. The seafood is packed well and you can get extra ice in the bag to keep it fresh longer. There is also a daily touristy show where the pelicans are fed from fish scraps and offcuts. I was there around 11.30am once and there were about 15 pelicans there already, waiting patiently for their daily feed. Prices there are not the cheapest around, but I am told they are fresh, so that makes up for it. The fish is very fresh, the eyes are very clear and gills red. I was also there last Christmas Eve, buying prawns, etc for Christmas lunch and even at 4am in the morning, there was a long queue. The queue that morning, and it was still dark then, stretched at least a hundred meters!!! Overall, Charis Seafoods has a very wide range of fresh seafood to choose from.

Fresh seafood cooked to order. A very popular location so you can expect a wait especially on a weekend or public holiday.

Lovely place to get fish and chips. Local wildlife is a bit aggressive if you sit outside. Nice to watch the pelicans though while you're there.

Whoa what has gone wrong here . They obviously are having a bad day as it was the worst fish n chips in QLD . Nothing absolutely nothing is comparable. Chips are a fake yellow colour and the fish was tastless the fish bites were dry without flavour. The 1 star is for the Pluto pup was just ok . Well cheers
