I cannot understand how this place has a 4 star rating. This is the dirtiest, most unorganised gym I've ever worked out in. It's a dark smelly dungeon without a staff member to be seen once you get inside. If you enjoy picking up after other people, working out on dirty equipment and dodging the resident cockroaches, then this is the gym for you!

Very Disappointed, the Gym itself is amazing with all the cool products and equipment. Plenty of high grade equipment and great floor space but the reception girls really let the atmosphere down with there rudeness. I was checked in on a monthly pass multiple times the few times I was checked in by the boys it was great with a nice greeting and vibe the times I was checked in my a English girl and another girl with black hair they almost looked angry that I was asking to be checked in and when I said goodbye as I left I was pretty much blanked. As an avid bodybuilder and a proud worlds gym supporter this really made me feel unwelcome. Such a shame as it’s such a great gym. Hopefully others don’t have this unwelcoming experience.

Do not sign up at this gym. The way they run their business is atrocious.

Nice gym from the outside… very messy inside, it took me ages to find the right weights and i had to walk all around the gym. Some of staff are nice but others were very rude. There was no AC in the workout area which made it very hot and smelly. Very dirty change rooms and bathrooms. They have little equipment (no ab rollers, foam pads, anything TRX, turf, wobble boards, foot sliders, stretch bands, no proper sled track, no proper trap bars, and there’s much more there missing). The equipment they do have is ether broken, bent or ripped. Nothing is sanitary throughout the whole gym, the suggest bringing towels and don’t inforce wiping down the machines after use. From my walk through before i got my month pass it seemed good but when i went to workout it was everything but. I would never recommend this gym to anyone, your better off going for a walk on the beach. Also, they don’t do refunds.

For many reasons this is one of the best gyms on the Coast. It has every equipment and tool you can imagine. However, if you are looking for casual and laid back members who are ordinary people, look elsewhere. Extremism is part of every great gym and sadly this is not something gym owners can cure.

World gym does casual rates so great if you are on holidays or on a business trip - only $15. Plenty of equipment, benches, pin loaded and free weights. A cardio section upstairs with cross trainers, bikes, tread mills etc. the staff at reception are super friendly and there is plenty of options to refuel after your workout. Highly recommend.

Most vibrant gym in town. Also these guys are awesome. I love my brother Andrea, his energy and vibe and obvs his Italian accent. Big shout out to Jordan and Lauren and the whole team. You guys are great!! Just please let’s talk about the playlists tho!!

They have everything here! Whether you're a casual gym goer or more into powerlifting and bodybuilding... and I do wonder who can bench those massive 70kg dumbells 😁. I was just visiting for a few days but Andrea at reception was so warm and welcoming. A cool dude! Highly recommend the place and would be a member for sure if I was local.

Save the $20 that you spend at this hole they call a world gym. I was on holiday at the Gold Coast and am used to the world gyms in NSW. This doesn’t compare the gym is dirty and unkempt, machines are old, it’s dark and it stinks, members don’t believe in re-racking their weights. Not to mention as a female who’s not often intimidated the crowd which attended made me feel quite uncomfortable, creepy males staring like they had never seen a female lifting weights. This gym needs some serious TLC especially if they are going to align themselves with the world gym standard. They need to do better and I will for sure not be returning or would recommend this gym!!!!

The staff and management are amazing, they make you feel like family, its such a welcoming space and community. Whether you are a student, athlete or older demographic gym goer there is something for everyone at World Gym Surfers. The PTs are the best in the industry and great range of products in their store and cafe. What better location for a gym minutes away from Surfers Beach, gym then beach! Congrats to Jordan on running such a tight ship. Thank you team!

Best gym on the coast! Lovely atmosphere, very spacious and clean and the staff are the best. No other place can you get a protein shake while you work out ;)

Pros: very high quality of personal trainers. Haven't seen comparable coaches anywhere in whole Australia and I am really very impressed! I strongly recommend to book a session there or at least check it out. I do not find it particular dirty there as it's mentioned in other reviews and also do not think this is an appropriate measurement for an iron temple. Cons: RIDICULOUS PRICES. Where should I start? It's the only World's Gym I ever visited that charges for the gym tag 25$, the day pass / week pass / 2 week pass are completely out of reality in their pricings. The protein powder they use for their (most expensive I've ever seen) protein shakes are from their own blend which should result in cheaper prices but it doesn't. 8,50$!! Sad too see that a hardcore gym obviously transformed into a mainly commercial business. The gym is small, doesn't have a proper course room for the boxing classes and yet it's the most expensive one I've ever seen or heard about. I am glad I've seen other World Gyms so this review is purely meant for this one. Sorry, but I am seriously disappointed and would never consider signing up. Staff is friendly and enviroment good

This gym has something about it that makes it like no other! That is the culture. I can’t fault the team on anything when it come to service and support. They are amazing at their job and hard not to smile at when entering and departing. You’re missing out if you’re not at World Gym Surfers!

Apparently it's some famous gym or something? They have some cheapest, crappiest barbells, which are slipping out of hands. Luckily I had dynamic work with light weight that day, so could make it happen. But equipment is inappropriate for heavy deadlifts.

As director of a home for vulnerable young mothers we found (while working on a personal budget) direct debits being deducted by World Gym Surfers Paradise from our 16 year olds account. This was a membership that she and her boyfriend of similar age signed around a year ago and only used for 4 months. Until recently both payments (both her and her boyfriends) were being deducted from the the mums account (she was 15 at the time). The membership contract and more importantly the bank deduction authority were never signed by a guardian as required by law. We approached World Gym about a credit for these unlawful deductions - they confirmed the contracts were never signed by a guardian but advised they were still valid. These payments have left our 16 year old mum (that has twin one year old babies) financially struggling. With this said it is clear World Gym has put profit ahead of ethical obligation. We appeal to any World Gym authority that has a strong a moral compass to do the right thing in this situation, Thanks

Honestly do not see the hype. The gym was a mess. Broken equipment. No one wipes the machines down. Took my 5 mins to find a spray bottle so I could clean my equipment. If you can’t stand people not putting there weights back avoid at all costs. Positive bathrooms clean Friendly staff

Best gym I've ever been in!!! I only had to poke my head in for a split second to know this place was well stocked but after a quick registration process with, the ever friendly Andrea, I was totally blown away by the range of equipment First, it's a big space over two levels Second, and most important, I saw the greatest variety of machines. I'm a powerlifter so not into machines but if I was then this would be heaven If you're properly into lifting then this place is for you

Got a 7 day pass here when I was visiting the Gold Coast recently, really enjoyed it. Its busy, but it's a huge gym with a lot of equipment. All the staff I dealt with were really nice, and the cafe upstairs has decent shakes 👌

I’m originally from Melbourne and staying in the Gold Coast for a week, and my word, I don’t want to go back to Melbourne, this gym is awesome! Did a casual, the price was a little high at $20 but was thanking myself after, all machines are up to great standard, staff is friendly and talkative, gym clients are friendly and nice, and music was awesome (didn’t even have to bring headphones)!

Came in for a casual visit while on the Gold Coast and absolutely loved it! Had some questions about supplements and Charlie was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Charlie’s customer service was also very inviting and friendly. Will absolutely come back next time I’m on the coast!

My parents and I have been members since December 2021. We like it because it’s convenient to our home. Prior to that we use to travel to Helensvale to train. The staff here at world gym are friendly and the members are as well. The only suggestion that I have is that the facilities are a bit more tidy. All in all. I enjoy it and am glad that I am a member.

Top quality gym in a great location. Really good equipment, some that I’ve never seen before. Just wish there were more cable machines. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Class variety of memberships for how long you’re visiting for. We went for the 3 day pass. Good variety of pre and post workout & good value for the shakes. Also some decent merchandise too!

I've been a regular here for three years. Overall it's a great and well maintained gym. It's big so even if it's busy you can find your own corner. Sometimes in summer it gets too hot especially in the cardio area. Hopefully they'll fix that in future.

Im impressed with the way World Gym Surfers Paradise takes care of its customers. I had a lost and found mobile phone and went extra miles by mailing it back to me in New South Wales at their own cost. This is my first time to experience this kind of service. Always a pleasure talking to the staff. Shae has always been helpful every time I went in (even before I became a member). Today she even let me taste a product I wanted to try from her own personal supply. Now that is service. All of the ladies down there that I have spoken to have all been very friendly and welcoming. Members seem quite nice, too.

Trained at this gym last week while I was visiting surfers and enjoyed every session. Well equipped gym with fits all your needs whether you are a novice and seasoned veteran of the gym life. The staff are very friendly and very welcoming which is something I haven’t always encountered when I have visited other gyms from around the club. Will definitely be looking to train here again when I’m back in Surfers.

Great gym, lots of space and plenty of weights to go around. I wish people would actually put their weights, staff need to really step up and tell patrons to follow the rules. Weights are everywhere and no one re-racks their weights.

I can't compare with the World gym on sunshine coast which is brand new. This one on surfer paradise is ok with enough equipment to do all upper and lower body exercises. The staff is friendly and pro. May be some newbies but they get better. I appreciate the $5 basic protein shakes vanilla or chocolate if you forget yours. Add $1.5 if you want creatine. The weight dumbbell section is a mess sometimes but you can find them anyway. The club is underground with air-conditioning. I like the free charging options for your mobile. You can find some funny only few members trying doing work out. trying. It is funny and make me smile and make my workout time going faster. Hahahaha At least they try hard, wrong way but hard. The shop is quite small but you have a open terrace outside to drink your proteins or else . I only give 3 stars because it is a small underground club and not new but enough for a good work out. Because it is a small club, the equipments are quite too close each other.

World Gym Surfers it's completely different to other world gym. Its best and you will feel a great atmosphere

I’m visiting from the states so I had to find a decent place to workout. Definitely a good gym. Has everything you need from benches, squat racks, and cables. A ton of different machines to use as well. My favorite thing about this gym is definitely the friendly staff but also the bottles that have scoops of pre-workout already in them. Super stoked they had that because I wasn’t about to buy a 30 serving can when I’m only here for 3 days😂💪🏽

Completely awful customer service. Came on Friday to check out the gym. Was told they cannot let anybody in even though they didnt close for another 45 mins. Lady in the front didn't even bother to pause her phone call.

Old fashioned hardcore gym. Barely any locker rooms but the gym is so good you won't care. If you're a serious lifter, this is where you wanna be.

Excellent, clean good equipment friendly staff.

I attended this gym for three visits while attending a conference at the Novotel, to which it is very handy. World Gym is generally a hardcore weight lifting gym and a very good one with top equipment for exercising all most every muscle. A little tricky to find but worth the effort. The gym was very clean with plenty of cleaning stations which were being used by the patrons. The change rooms and toilets were also clean with no nasty smells or cockroaches. The equipment was well maintained with no issues observable. I found it a really great gym with friendly staff and I felt motivated to work out hard. I noticed one reviewer was not happy, I realise it can depend on expectations. If you want pretty or boutique, there are ladies gyms, Beautiful Nails or perhaps a Barbie Doll shop but if you like a hardcore basement gym with top equipment for real weight training, this is the gym for you.

All the equipment one needs for a decent training session a lil bit dark with no windows as it is underground (could use a lil more lighting) bathrooms at times need a bit more love and attention but all in all a good gym with a mellow atmosphere and nice members and staff

Really cool gym. Offer good casual and short term memberships for people travelling to the Gold Coast. The 'barbell cafe' also offers healthy meals and shakes to stay on track while holiday-ing.

Best gym in town, the place is huge, great selection of Precor, Hammer Strength and Life Fitness equipment, friendly staff, wide selection of personal trainers on the board to choose from. If you live near Surfers, World Gym should be on top your list
