😠 Skinny blonde on the left in triage needs to keep her opinions to herself. Last night a little girl came in crying, something was obviously wrong with her. The nurse was more concerned with speaking of her autism and how much of a handful she was going to be. ....all because she was tired and ready... Skinny blonde on the left in triage needs to keep her opinions to herself. Last night a little girl came in crying, something was obviously wrong with her. The nurse was more concerned with speaking of her autism and how much of a handful she was going to be. ....all because she was tired and ready to end her shift, so she claims. Heaven forbid she ever be blessed with a child with a disability. These are the kind of people that represent this hospital??? Wow.

Not only have I almost died at this hospital due to internal bleeding that they tried to say I was making up until they did an ultrasound 4 hours after I arrived (went into emergency surgery with 300ccs pooling in my uterus) but several of my friends have almost died waiting in this hospital er. My aunt currently has a lawsuit pending due to them not helping her daughter and she died in the driveway of their lobby entrance after sending her home septic. Recently, against better judgement but in panic mom mode, took my son in with a very clearly broken arm and they told me it would be a 6-8 hr wait due to 10 ppl being in front of us. We left immediately and went to the children’s hospital in Greenville and were seen immediately by the staff there. The Greenville hospital on statonsburg rd is amazing and I recommend every single person to drive that 35-45 min extra it could literally save you or your child’s life.

I’m new to NC and I was bitten by several ticks and started to feel flu like symptoms. I went to this hospital seeking medical attention only to sit there in the lobby for 3 hours. Not to mention seeing people come in after me being treated before me. I when to the check in desk to see how much longer it’ll be before I’m seen and one lady was nice and professional. She told told me that there was no space available in back yet. Then a nurse with multi colored hair walked up me and asked me did I need her for anything. I said yet I need help and I’ve been sitting here for 3 hours. Her response was “well there’s people that have been sitting here for 6 hours we’ll get to you when we can” then walked away. After sitting there for 2 more hours I decided to leave!! So all together I wasted 5 hours of my time and received no medical attention!! Be far one of the worst hospitals I’ve ever been to!!

I ended up being brought in by ambulance due to diverticulitis. There was a wait in the er due to 2 people coming in with gunshot wounds but the staff took great care of me. I was admitted to the second floor and the nurses there were amazing. I hate asking for help and they never made me feel bad for requesting assistance. They took excellent care of me and I appreciated them so much.

*PARENTS BEWARE* My father and son went on a mini vaca in goldsboro this past weekend and unfortunately my son, who is a type 1 diabetic, had to end up at this hospital. His insulin pen was lost and he had a high sugar with no way to treat it. So my dad took him to the ER here. They DID NOT listen to my dad when he gave them his formula for his sugar and would not listen to him when he told them he only needed 2 units. They gave him 4 units of insulin and told my dad that 'They had their own formula and knew what they were doing.' CHKD were the ones who told us to give them his personal formula. Instead of listening to my dad, they went and did their own thing. The next morning, my son had a low of 51 and the ONLY reason his sugar didn't go lower was because my dad got him back to the hotel and immediately gave him enough carbs to fix a low. This hospital could have caused my 6 YEAR OLD to go into a diabetic coma or worse. I wouldn't suggest this hospital to any parent that has a child with any type of special need.

This hospital is terrible, certain staff is okay but once you pass the checkin they are TERRIBLE first off they don’t even have that many rooms mind you I have been here for five hours with my mom just to be put in a little hallway then on top of that we were put with two nurses in the hallway, seemed like it was their office, my mom has a terrible migraine and the nurses were talking and being loud I asked them politely “excuse me my mom has a migraine can you keep it down one of the nurses look at me and rolled their eyes. Moral of the story inconsiderate, rude people.

I had a great experience minus the waiting time in the back room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The best thing that the hospital did was to call me after I left and made plans for me to monitor my condition until I get an appointment at another clinic. They even called the clinic to ensure I had an appointment. My only complaint would be that the waiting in your personal room was extremely long ( 2.5 hours) and they don't check up on individuals once you're there (with the exception of checking your vitals but that at the beginning and ending of your stay).

Went to the emergency room due to a bad fall. My right knee was in horrible pain and swelling. Had to wait in the ER lobby in a wheelchair (with my knee bent) for 6 hours before taken back. Dislocated knee, 2 breaks & not sure if the tendon was still attached. So much pain waiting I got sick in the lobby. Complained but no call even returned! Terrible !!!

You allowed my sick father to go home and die alone , with excellent health insurance, and he begged for you guys to keep him , 2-21-2011 you sent him home to die alone AND I’ll NEVER FORGET THAT! The silver lining in the entire experience was an employee named Tasha Owens who not only went the extra mile for my father she sat and talked to him while he waited , God Bless her!

I usually get ok care when I come to this hosptial.. but last night, I have never witnessed the horrible care everyone has been talking about until I came in at 6pm. At first it seemed like everything was going to move pretty quickly until it didn't. So I came in for chest pain and my bp was 192/90 I was then so scared. They took me back to the "blood room".. that's what I call it lol. I got a ekg and then sat there for 15 to 20 mins until they called me into triage. The ladies in thier didn't seem very nice they are real quick and rush you to tell your story and keep it moving. After that we sat in waiting area for about 1 hour. I went to my own room and they proceeded to put an IV in. I explained to the nurse I had a bad experience with the vein they chose and asked if they could do the other arm. The male nurse said he had been doing this a long time don't worry. My vein blew up like a balloon. They went to the arm I originally asked them to do and got it right away. They hooked me up and that was that. A couple hours went by and they came to draw more blood. I asked the nurse to take it from my iv that I never needed in the first place. She said no so I was pricked again. They did ekg and Chest x-ray and I didn't see anyone for 5 hours after that noone.after 6 hours had went by I asked to leave they said give us a few mins to find doctor another hour goes by and I pushed call button and told them I want to leave. Doctor finally came said everything looked good and said I could leave. Two hours later they finally let me go. Noone ever came to check on me, just to get blood sample after blood sample and they weren't telling me anything. I refused for them to take anymore blood. They don't tell you why they need it or what's happening , no results nothing at all. I was so upset. My mom never goes to goldsboro only greenville. I think I may need to follow in her foot steps for now on. I know they are busy but I thought I was having a heart attack and noone would tell me a thing. I figured if the doctor can not come into see me after 6 hours then I was fine and wanted to just take my chances and go home. Like I said, I usually get good care but lastnight, you failed me goldsboro.

This is the most caring, most kind and most attentive hospital I have ever been to! They deserve many Cudos. From registration to surgery discharge, we were so impressed. Special thanks to Belinda and Kim, the RNs who took care of my Sister. Yes! 5 star treatment!

4 hours with severe stomach pain and vomiting. No doc in sight as my wife suffers..nurses keep saying they can't help until doc shows up. Problem...one doc and he is not in the ER.. wife paced around er calling for doc.. nurses ignored us told her she can't sit on gurney..did not even try and help her back in the room.. please tell me Smithfiled is better.. this place is 10 min from my house but would I be better off driving to Smithfiled next time? They finally came and gave her something to drink for naseau... Remember the vomiting? She threw it up in 10 seconds.. now waiting for IV which she needed in the first place. 5 hours in..no help or relief. Girls in hallway using hospitals computer to shop online..what a joke..

We had a friend taken by a ambulance here. They came in to do test on her but we have waited and waited for results. This place is so slow and not very friendly. When she pressed the call button for help they said they never heard it. I had to go out and find a nurse for help. This place needs improvement badly. Oh yes, it's bad when the blood pressure monitors keep sounding constantly and there not checking on it.

The fat male who worked at the desk in the emergency department Monday August 7 ,2023 around 12 noon was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in my life very unprofessional. He has no business being at anyone’s desk better yet working in a hospital.

Dr. Cummings, who gave my daughter an epidural, during her labor has very poor bedside manners. He has no empathy or compassion for women in pain during labor. He couldn't give the epidural the first time because my daughter flinched when he tried to insert the needle. He stepped back and said he couldn't do his job if she didn't sit still. I didn't say anything at the time because she was already in a lot of stress. What kind of doctor is he? He has no compassion, sympathy or kindness at all. When he finished, he left without saying anything. I DO NOT recommend him at all.

Slowest ER I’ve ever been to! I’ve been here several times and all were bad experience having to wait 3+ hours , never get checked on while in the back. One of the doctors “diagnosis “ was just adult pains when it turned out to be an ovarian cyst. I don’t recommend this place at all you are better off staying at home or traveling to a different city!

First let me say that my complaint is not about the care my daughter recieved but about the help I recieved in the billing department. My 14 year old daughter had dental surgery in November 2022. The surgery was billed to BCBS and it was denied because of the billing codes. I then owed UNC $16,000 and no one wanted to help me appeal the claim to BCBS. I appealed the claime myself and BCBS paid no problem. BUT, by this point, UNC had turned me into a credit agency thus affecting my credit rating. I made multiple calls to UNC and Wayne Memorial for help and no one offered ANY help. They all said there was nothing that they could. I didn't mind sending the claim myself, but for goodness sake, help a girl out with how to send the claim in. It is what they do ever day... bill insurance. Useless!

Star given not even deserving. Husband went by Ambulance to ER, Provided reason for to Paramedics till I arrived. I don’t know what happened, UTI infection period 2 1/2 wks, Fluid’s Antibiotics, bladder. Heart? Tests crazy ending Unspecified atrial fibrillation? Needing hip replacement He was released transferred to Goldsboro Rehab Where they his real problem was never addressed, heart problem was left as shown, every medication prescribed listed when he stopped taking ineffective or correcting habits eliminating need. They Created Medical Records for him according to their design so a psychiatrist consult, speech therapist dietician consult while I telling them they needed to correct, being told was all the while getting worse then Insurance deemed ready for release discharge return home. He was worse My Having Knowledge in Medications Medical conditions symptoms, making it to recovery and I found their report I called personal Doc he reinforcing my finds. After discharge take to JOHNSTON MEMORIAL HILTON revaluate for proper care. Once found out came the battle to keep as not to have learned. I fought with A paramedic listening following procedures said patient was being loaded and taken to hospital They thought I unable to care for him would leave as long term and pay Back to Wayne using ex to do as they wish, a fight for 6 days our daughter was finally there, we loaded him in car took to Johnston Memorial 5/12 Today 5/14 around 12 his nurse talking was wanting him to wake so I told him to wake up start listening it took a minute, trying to remember the hotel, why we were here, I done what we always do when us, he was coming around finally Tim Parks was present with mouth but he said he doesn’t remember anything for the past couple days, not pushing wanting him to concentrate on eating, Don’t allow them to treat you like you have no legal rights And Don’t Go To Goldsboro Rehab Nursing, They Are Linked or They Wouldn’t Have Tried Sending him While I Was home Showering and resting

What type of business is being ran here ? I got here at 5PM It is now 11:16PM and I'm still waiting on results from a swab !!!! There is no sense of urgency when it comes to taking care of your patients. Me and a few other patients walked out because it took this long for us to get answers. That's terrible & some of your employees at the front desk in the emergency part of this facility just don't care like at all. I asked what was the status and I was just told "I don't know" & people are coming here and trusting and putting the care in the hands of your staff ? Ridiculous. I would never come here again and I would never recommended this hospital to anyone. You guys need to do better and take better care of your patients.

My wife, Leslie Goulet had a hysterectomy on Friday. I cannot completely express my gratitude from top to bottom. Dr. Nichols, thank you for the bedside manner and ensuring i knew everything that was going to happen, then following up post surgery to let me know everything that happened. I cant name the nurses, anesthesiologist's, surgical team, everyone made my wifes first ever surgery, as easy as possible. Kudos to the entire hospital. She is recuperating, and doing well.. thanks again!

Would rate less if could. Provider number and insurance company need to communicate!! Provider number is listed on insurance card for a reason, if a problem needs to call the insurance company first, not harass the patient!

This used to be the worst hospital on the face of the earth, and then they improved several things. It didn't last long. They are once again the worst hospital on the face of the earth. I know see why some people would rather die than go to this hospital.

My partner had a hysterectomy done this past Friday and it was the absolute best experience and hospitality ever. From the start of our appointment time to the time she was discharged everyone was very friendly, polite and professional. We would highly recommend that you let Wayne UNC health take care of you and your family. We would like to personally thank the health care team that was involved in her care. Tana Tyndall RN BSN ect., Belinda Jones RN BSN ect., Becca RN ect., the anesthesiologist Dr. Hilton and surgeon/gynecologist Dr. Nichols thank you all! To the lady in the OR that held her hand thank you! I hope I didn’t leave anyone out but if I did thank you! The whole organization of how things were ran was just amazing. I like the fact of being able to see if my loved one was at pre-precedure, procedure, recovery ect. by using a number system to maintain HIPPA. Also I thought it was awesome that the pharmacist came and delivered the medication to me instead of me having to figure out how and when I could pick it up. The after care of the surgery was very attentive. She was discharged with a abdominal binder and a incentive spirometer. She was never offered these things after her past surgery’s like her gallbladder surgery or her c-section at another hospital. She expressed that the abdominal binder was a game changer and was very pleased with it. We have both worked in healthcare for 20+ years with her being a nurse herself and we know it’s not an easy job but you guys made it look easy and did it with a smile. Our whole experience was just very pleasing. Again we thank you and highly recommend UNC Health Wayne!

It has taken me months to write this because every time I think about the fact that the night staff sent my husband home to die infuriates me! I know the staffs names, because they were talking so loudly gossiping about most of the patients there. Gio from Miami who only loves Italian subs and judges his coworkers for eating Taco Bell, Elaine the nurse who erased the board when I asked if that was the correct information and stated that the board doesn't get updated during the night shift. And only came into the room twice. The second time was an hour and a half after my husband arrived from the CT Scan. Brad the EMT who flirted with a blonde lady about tiktok videos that she was showing him on her phone while he drank his tea or coffee. The doctor finally showed up and claimed even though his blood pressure was high, there was fluid in his lungs, and they know his history of stroke, heart condition, and recent triple bypass there was nothing they could do and was dismissed. But thank God I knew better he was having the same symptoms as when he had his stroke. We left and I drove us to REX where they were shocked he was sent home because he was in heart failure and needed a stint put in right way. They rushed him to emergency surgery and he stayed in REX for about a week! DON'T go to Wayne Memorial unless you want to be neglected and possibly sent home to die!

Same hospital new look. Although, UNC took over Wayne Memorial nothing is different. In my opinion the emergency department is worse. This clearly isn’t a patient first hospital. My 11 yr old epileptic daughter fell and hit her head during her focal seizure. Then she proceeded to have a clonic tonic seizure. I gave her emergency medicine and proceeded to call 911, as instructed by her neurologist at Duke. Daughter came out of seizure around the time paramedics arrived. (That was an ordeal in itself) after changing my daughters clothes, because paramedics refused to transport her because she urinated during seizure, they loaded her and took her to UNC. I drove there after getting my 3 week old baby loaded. When I got there security stated I couldn’t take newborn back. I informed them I could not leave my child since I nurse. Eventually, nurses agreed to let me go back. After waiting a little while we were released. Only test performed was urine test and basic exam. No scans were done of her head. My child still complained of headache as we were leaving. This hospital again disappoints, I thought once UNC took over it would be better. It’s still the same except now “UNC the hospital were people go to die” Wayne memorial had that reputation now it appears UNC is continuing the same quality care.

Probably the worst expirence I have ever had, the doctor didn't seem to care or even listen to what I was saying and in my chart it says things that they never did. They never even did a physical exam. I came in for being light headed, dizzy, and out of breath and it just says leg pain and paralysis, yes it was also part of the reason I came in but the main thing was my lungs and it wasn't even mentioned. In the chart it says I denied having shortness of breath which is the main reason I went in there. After seeing what was written in the chart I am very disappointed. I was expecting to be a lot more cared for but instead it felt like I was an absolute burden and waste of time.
