McCall's is the place folks! If you are like me & enjoy barbecue pork ribs, beans, cornbread, fried chicken & much more! After a Church Service on Sunday, stop-by,you will have no regrets! The food is freshly superbly cooked, just exactly the way I like it,especially when you are dealing with pork. All the expert Chefs reading this post,am sure will agree, always cook pork well....The location(tip) behind the BP Station,is very clean, with a large parking lot.The Staff was excellent & very courteous. The bathrooms are(tip)all the way on the right.Take all your family's friends also, and tell them,to be prepared to eat, loosen up the belts;if needed. It's always vital to remember,of course, to exercise throughout the week,in order to remain healthy...

Great southern food buffet spot. Everything seemed to cooked in that great southern love. I had a little bit of everything but the BBQ and chicken pot pie were among my favorites. The waitress never let my cup get halfway empty and kept up with my coworker and I. The dessert was amazing as well, defintley easy to put some plates away here!

Perhaps the best flavored eastern North Carolina BBQ. It is remarkably sweet in the way that well cooked pork can be. I did take out, which was enough for three meals for me. But the main attraction is the Buffet, and it looked like good quality food. It’s just a block off the main road so it’s worth looking for the sign. I would certainly recommend this over the more famous neighbor across the street.

I have never been so insulted at a place of business. Usually the food at McCalls is pretty good. But tonight. We ate buffet and the ribs were not as good as they have been in the past. So my daughter did not eat all of her's. The waitress took up our plates. And came back with the manager. She proceeded to ask my daughter. Did she know how much the ribs cost. My daughter said no. The manager said 15 dollars. And the next time they were left on her plate. She was going to charge her extra. I told them all NO. SHE WOULD NOT BECAUSE WE WOULD NOT BE BACK. .. MY SON IN LAW. DID EVEN PUT THREE DOLLARS WORTH OF FOOD ON HIS PLATE. And no refund was offered for that. That is the last 80. 00. I will spend there.

My best friend took me here and it brings back old memories from when I was little going there with the family to eat. Food is just as good as it was before! Loved it!

My three brothers and I decided to take a road trip this past Sunday. We decided to try out McCall's BBQ & Seafood. We arrived at approximately 1:30p and the church crowd had just arrived. Though the lines were long it didn't take long to get seated and serve ourselves. Our waitress was very cordial and professional. The food was hot, savory and delicious. We all ate much more than we should have. An overall pleasant experience!!!

Called on Friday to check on lunch buffet. Out of town guests wanted seafood. Was assured that there be all of the seafood on lunch buffet. My disappointment was there wasn't any seafood at all.. was assured Saturday lunch would have seafood. Asked several times to be sure. Person answering phone even checked . Didn't know what she was talking about. So disappointed as we're my guests.

It broke my heart when they left Clayton, but at least passing through Goldsboro gives me a chance to drop in. A good southern buffett, and the staff were all wearing masks and constantly sanitizing. It is what it is, you will leave full and happy.

I have been here in Wayne county NC for almost 26 years. I had occasion in the eat there years ago, and the place is still the same. This was the first time I got takeout from the back, and it will be the last time. It took forever to get my order. The server was very nice but I just didn't care to stand there for 30 minutes. Some people sat in their cars but I wanted to make sure my order was correct. I didn't eat in. They have a good buffet, so if you want to chow down it's a good place to eat.

Food was 26 almost 27 dollars and was not good. Mac and Cheese was like a clump of mush. BBQ chicken was not good. BBQ sauce had too much vinegar or not mixed well. I literately only ate the boiled potatoes and cornbread. Very dissatisfied.

Fried wings are seasoned well. Just wish they were larger and not so expensive. The hush puppies are good and the cornbread cake (chew bread) is great too. I love to eat my meal in the lot and watch the air force jets roar over my head.

The food was incredible! I am a seafood lover. We came because I had a craving for BBQ but the seafood choices made me put that craving aside. I enjoyed eating 2 kinds of fish, scallops, shrimp, and clams from the buffet. Yum Yum Yummy! And the BBQ and side dishes that I left a little room for were delicious, also.

McCall's may not be the best at everything they serve... However, restaurants like these are national treasures simply for the amount of care placed into every dish. The Potato Salad is extraplanetary.

First time here as long as I've been around these parts. . . Food was amazing. You can tell majority of everything was homemade. I was happy- Miserable when leaving. I was stuffed. Our waitresses was so polite and sweet. And for the price, it was well worth it. Definitely will be coming back. . . The turkey gravy was amazing. I think I put it on everything I ate. Literally.

For a meal that was over 18 bucks I've had a lot better. Chicken wasn't cooked thru, green beans had no flavor, macaroni n cheese tasted like pure velvetta... hushpuppies were the only thing worth eating. Don't think I'll drive the 1.5 hours to eat at McCall's any time soon again.

They have fabulous bbq (Eastern NC style) and I'm in love with their coleslaw. They also do a fabulous job with take out and pick up orders, especially for the holidays. I wasn't a big fan of their biscuits or hush puppy bites. I do enjoy doing take out whenever we visit family in the area.

Better than the similar buffet restaurants. Good selection of food, while I was not thrilled by the bbq itself, the fried fish was awesome! Saturdays are trout and flounder, I've been told. Will be back for sure. And the coleslaw is on point.

My family and I loved the food, and especially the service. The waitress, Miss Mary Taylor, was so polite and patient, and refilled our cups without question. The food selection was great, as there's many things to dine on. Though, the pasta salad is a bit too salty, whilst the collard greens being too unseasoned. But the food overall was great. The atmosphere is amazing, as it has a fireplace, plenty of TVs, and plenty of plants. An overall rating of this place would be a good 4.5 stars. I will recommend and would come here to eat again!

Not a bad place to go, most food options were pretty good, but just not the extra umpf to get 5 stars. Good for kids, some of the best chicken nuggets I've tried, nephew had them, seafood good, price in range with everyone else. I'd go back.

McCall’s is 2 hrs away from us, and is the best buffet within that radius. The best time to come is Sunday afternoon or Friday evening (early). We went this past Saturday night (about 45 mins before closing), which is not the best time for the buffet or service… but every other time we’ve been service and food was 100% so they still deserve 5 stars.

The food is absolutely fantastic, and I have always received excellent customer service from anyone who has waited on me. I haven't eaten inside in about 8 years because I always get it to go, so I can't really say anything about the atmosphere. However, if it's anything like it was 8 years ago, then I can say that the atmosphere is excellent as well. Wilburs BBQ has the absolute best BBQ around, and I have actually told others who have tried it and loved it too.

This place has the best food and staff! We missed the seafood but the pork and chicken were excellent! Sweet tea is great, not too sweet, just right.

As good as I have had ANYWHERE. Everything on the buffet was amazing. Livers and gizzards were perfection....bbq and fried chicken were amazing.... every item was individual perfection.....all the way to the banana pudding finish.

Buffet style mixture of soul and seafood. It appears to be a very popular place as we were met with the after church crowd but got in quickly. The food was good with a variety of ribs, fish, salads, etc.. there was dessert such peach, blueberry and apple cobbler, sweet and unsweetened tea and lemonade. Decent place to stop if you're in the area.

There were 3 of us tonight who walked in and sat down. Our server came and asked us what we wanted to drink, that was all. We go to the buffet only to hear another customer say the burners were not working. Our server never said anything until we asked what was going on. Then she told us to get in line and an employee would get what we wanted. We then witnessed our server go get food for another table but not for us. If burners were not working, the business in my opinion should have shut down until repairs could take place. The food wasn’t that good and waiting in line for an employee to get what you want ( the wait was 10 minutes) wasn’t worth a 68.00 bill. We will not be returning!

Not what it has been. It’s decent but with the price increase, I would expect the quality not to waiver. Chicken feathers obvious in the fried chicken and be prepared to peel a few of your fried shrimp. Barbecue has more vinegar than most places you would stop for eastern NC barbecue. I also found it weird that no form of potatoes were on the buffet. Maybe it’s a staffing issue in the kitchen? Maybe I just expected too much. I will try to them again one day and hope I went at a bad time.

This was supposed to be a must visit restaurant for Carolina BBQ. I ate the seafood mostly, I did taste the Carolina BBQ. I got another plate of seafood. Service and bar fillers were nice and engaging, I did enjoy that. I guess i have to much Georgia and Florida in my veins to be a true fan. P.S. I did stop at a McCall's restaurant in South Carolina, for take out years ago, I didn't remember until I tasted the hush puppies. They went well with the seafood.

Wide selection of really good food on the buffet. The fresh cornbread, rolls, and hush puppies with some butter-Yum! Plenty of home style vegetables. I had chicken livers, black eyed peas and hushpuppies. Hubby's first time so he tried everything including dessert bar.

My family wanted a new food experience and McCalls was it. The buffet table was filled with a variety . From fruits and vegetables to seafood, cakes, and pies. The wait staff doesn't allow your cups to go empty the entire visit. Good food. Great atmosphere. Reasonably priced.

Friendly and good home cooking! Dine in or take out. Usually go through the take out window they are fast once you place your order. Never had a bad meal here!!

Great place for dinner. BBQ is always good, not heavily smoked but just right. You can order off a menu here or go for the buffet. Fresh salads, vegetables, BBQ, ribs, shrimp (fried "Calabash" style) and oysters are just a small sample of available items. Deserts are good too. Family friendly.
