Fantastic Beach with all Rooms facing the Beach. Very Good 50M pool we enjoyed. Breakfast was good but Dinner and Lunch were hopeless. Management need to look at this very seriously. Its a pity with such beautiful view they do not look into the variety & quality of food for customer satisfaction.

My experience has been wonderful from arrival to departure at this place. The staff was very professional and friendly. Buffets and room service were delicious. Rooms were sparkling clean. Also this hotel is located in a terrific location right in the next of the Bentota beach.

Beautiful place with amazing rooms and facilities! Would definitely love to go back here! Breakfast was okay with a moderate variety of dishes. Lunch and dinner menu is quite limited but available dishes are delicious!

We have booked one Double room in upper floor on half board basis. We had arrived there at 3.45pm but the room was not ready. They requested 10 Mints to prepare the room. But 6.15pm we have received the room. They are not treating locals good. No any welcome also. Buffet is average. No varieties. We have not received bath towels also. Requested two time but not. TV also not working with good sound. Not recommended.

The location was superb. You can just walk to the beach. The pools were very large and beautiful. The front desk and reception was also good. This is definitely worth 5 stars But the reason for 4 star is the rooms. The room was large with all the amenities. But since it is close to the ocean and the lawn, it needs maintenance regularly. There are some ants in the room and bathroom. This may not be a concern because they don't bite you. But it is just not good to see them moving around in a hotel like this. Pro tip: This hotel has a private beach. If you walk left towards the rocks there are two more private beaches and there is a place where you can see two beaches at a time. Try going there. It is amazing. You can see that in the image.

Rooms cleanliness is just average. Food variety is ok yet sometimes its on set menu. Not good AC and after 3 reminders no one turned up to fix it. Nice pool on both sides. Nice beach straight out from the restaurant.

Great location with a private beach and ample space to roam around. Service was good, the staff is quite attentive, food was average, has a nice and cozy swimming pool. But the hotel needs a major upgrade. There's a lot of wear and tear, rooms haven't been renovated in years. Needs a lot of work to bring it back to its former glory.

If I made this review during the 1st 30 minutes of visiting the hotel, I would have rate with only 1 star. Had to spend some time to find the parking space. Its in a separate location from the hotel. Security guy directed us to go ahead but no board was there to show the hotels parking space. We were thinking whether we made a wrong decision to book here. However our mind set changed with the very friendly staff there specially at the restaurant. We felt welcome. I think its the manager of the restaurant. Who is very active and warmly look after each and every guest there. We felt like we came to a place of a relative for dinner. Almost every staff member greeted us with a big smile. Rooms are clean and every room has a nice view of the Indian ocean.

Absolutely terrible. Was checked into a room on top floor, the AC was not working and then moved to a ground floor room. Same issue. Called several times, finally a maintanence guy came saying he will look into but nothing was done. AC in restaurant was also malfunctioning. Food is pretty average. The only good thing is the location, the beach is superb. Hotel needs serious overhaul. Overall terrible experience, will never stay here again and will not recommend to anyone.

The location is good. But the place needs major servicing. Air conditioning doesn’t work. Door knobs and handles worn out and broken. when we visited a couple of days back we noticed the staff is very courteous to foreigners and not the same with Indians. Very disappointing. I have heard this from past visitors also. So something to improve on. Food and service is below average. Only go for the view and location

We had 12 days in Sri Lanka at 7 different hotels, and our last 2 nights were spent here and unfortunately it was by far our worst stay. We stayed at Radisson, Cinnamon and even other EKHO properties and this one was well below the others. The good: Our room location was great. It walked right out to the pool with our own chairs which was great. The pool was very large and there was also a second deeper pool at the other end of the property. The beach was very nice. Some of the softest sand I’ve felt from all over the world. The ocean very warm and at times the waves were fun to play in. The grounds were very nice and more or less well kept. The waiter we had at the cafe/near the long pool was one of our two best waiters in all of Sri Lanka. He was very friendly, we had several conversations about everything and his service was spectacular. It hurts me to give a poor rating as Sri Lanka needs the tourism so much right now. The Bad: The largest issue by far was our room AC. Us coming from a country that is -20C rely on AC when visiting a country that the overnight lows are 28C. We were given a lower room as they told us there were AC issues and it did not work at all. Our room was unbearably hot and we had horrible sleeps there. It seemed most if not all rooms had AC issues as everyone had theirs patio doors open all day and evening and several people sitting outside late. Even the restaurant and cafe AC units did not work so we were unable to escape the heat. The remaining issues are very minimal but when compounded together becomes a larger issue. Our room had a very gross almost sewage like smell to it. It got better the second day and could be tolerated. The water pressure of our sink was lacking and could barely be used to wash our hands. We tried to get laundry done by the hotel when we arrived. We filled out the form and called the number on the sheet several times with no answer. We then called the front desk and they said they would send someone our way. After 20 minutes we called them again and they said they would send someone. After another 15 minutes and us sitting in an air conditionless room getting hot and frustrated, we left the clothes in the laundry bag by the door with the filled out form and went to the pool. We came back to our clothes still there. The next morning we went to the front desk to try and figure out how to get our laundry done and they said they’d send someone. I asked if we’d get them back that evening like most other hotels offered and they said we couldn’t get them until the next day. We told them we were unfortunately flying out early in the morning to our next destination and they just said oh sorry. The breakfast buffet wasn’t very good. Our least favourite of our Sri Lankan stay. Our door lock safety mechanism didn’t work so there was no additional security for our room. We were given only two very small towels for showering. They didn’t even fully wrap around either of us with me being a 32” waist. They did allow for a good laugh however. There are several broken loungers that need to be fixed and should be inspected regularly. We found the beds to be quite hard, harder than we like. Very minor as this is a personal preference. The rooms do not have many plugs for charging devices, very minor, but more would be nice. Again we stayed at several other properties including the EKHO property in Ella, do not have 5 star requirements and are not high end people but this resort is in need of a large upgrade. The location is great, grounds are nice, but until some repairs are done, sadly I would not return.

Food is pathetic.when you ask for anything most of staff is rude. Television is not working always and when you ask to fix the problem they always say it is satellite problem. I suggest everyone who are planning to come this hotel don't come

4 star hotel located near beautiful stripe of ocean. Cleanliness of the rooms should be improved. Average buffet. Scenery is very beautiful. Has two pools one with a deep of 3m. Other is a very large 50m pool. Friendly and attentive staff members do their best to serve the guests. There is parking facility is outside the premises.

I have been here for a fortnight. This is the most amazing place I've ever seen with an excellent nature view. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and the staff was amazing. The guest service manager Mr. Kanchana is a polite and friendly person.

I went there for my quarantine purposes. The view from the room was breathtaking all the rooms were headed towards the sea. Staff service was also good. Couldn’t use the other facilities since I was in quarantine.

The whole experience was excellent. The staff was very friendly and supportive. Hotel facilities are very good. The beach view makes it more beautiful. If anyone searching for a hotel in Bentota, This is the best.

We stayed in ONE night in half Board basis. We got TWO rooms for my family. One double room and one triple room. We did not receive welcome drink. Rooms should be updated to standard level. Water pressure of the showers are not in acceptable level. Hot water also not properly working. But the food is very delicious. Staff also very friendly. Very nice beach and we enjoyed very well.

Great location. Even better staff and hospitality! Went on a weekday, so they only had the Ala Carte menu for all 3 meals. Food was decent, taste wise, but was a bit of a let down when it came to options/spread and quantity. Salads and platters seemed like they were from the previous day, slightly stale. Pradeep and team from F&B did a great job in keeping up with the requests, kudos. Deluxe rooms were superb, yes we got an upgrade! Washrooms could be better though. All in all, pleasant stay with mediocre food. (Except for Breakfast, which was superb!)

Excellent hotel with excellent location and facilities. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff. Specially, Mr. Kanchana. Also, the quality and the taste of the foods was fabulous.Would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality.

Grate place to visit with your family members or friends or alone. Rooms are facing grate blue ocean of Bentota. If you are looking a place to visit and relax or want to get a way from your busy life. Then this would be a grate place to visit.

A great place to spend your break away from busy Colombo. Within the reach of few hours drive from Colombo city, the hotel offers a great view of the beach and sea. They have ground floor rooms which gives you direct access to the beach and to the sea. Just next to the hotel, there is a safe spot for sea bathing with shallow waters strong waves. Also, the hotel has two swimming pools, one with 4ft in depth and 50m in length. Their rooms are spacious and cozy.

This was ‘THE WORST’ experience we had. Locals are not treated well at all. And no A/Cs in the common areas at all. 1. No welcome drink was given to us even though we had to stay 2 hours in yhe lobby for our room. But the foreigners who came after us got it. 2. We paid extra for a deluxe room and got one that was covering the sea. 3. Dinner was the worst. Buffet was open till 10:30 so we went around at 8:30 and almost all dishes were empty and nothing for us to eat. 4. During lunch and dinner while we were eating, people were continuously cleaning around us for the entire time. Not welcoming at all. Overall experience felt like they paid us money to come. Wish I could give them a zero rating. You could spend the same amount of money and have a better experience in like jetwing lake, please go there. It was THE WORST!

I’ve visited this beach property twice ! 2018 and then 2023 ! Love the place ,Good food , lovely sunsets , calm and quiet , humble staff ! It was perfect during my earlier visit but requires a little maintenance now !

Hotel locality is great. Rooms are definitely required an upgrade. Rooms are quite old and not maintained properly. I recommend to check-in to Swimming Pool view balcony rooms. Chef and Restaurant staff are great. House keeping service is worst.

Pool was very nice Bar area is very cosy too.. Rooms and entrance needs updating Food menu needs improve (buffet) Has Best strawberry milkshake ! They are having a remodeling Hope to be back and check out the new features . Best off season surfing

When I came to the hotel as a tourism student, without getting any help, I stood at the gate for about half an hour and said that there is no one that can help us to collect normal details about hotel front office services .....Time may not be valuable for you, but time is valuable to other people.... no matter how good the quality of the hotel is, respect other people time ....

I have visited this hotel twice, and I had very different experiences the 2 times. The hotel is located at a prime location and just next to Taj. The beach almost feels like a private beach, and this hotel has a lot of European customers, especially Germans. However, in my 2nd visit, I saw the names changed, probably the owner changed. But the rooms have become dirty, and also furnitures are old, walls are scuffed and dirty. They had to change our room as our initial room was not livable. I wish they maintained the hotel a bit as this has a potential to be an excellent hotel. The location is just fantastic!! And service is also great!

One of the best resorts I visited in Srilanka. My room had a beautiful view of the beach and the swimming pool. The property is very clean and well maintained. They are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property also has direct access to the beach. There are a lot of bars and restaurants around the property. Tuktuk is also available outside the property.

This place faced the beach,had an amazing location with some best restaurants to try for food just a walk away. The swimming pool was huge,thr beach was nice and beautiful. This place had a Portugal touch to it. Though the bathroom fittings could be improved. Overall a good place to stay in bentota.

Visited this place in 2018. It was our one of the best stays in Sri Lanka. Loved the the ambience, the rooms, the food, the courteous hotel staffs and the brilliant chefs. Absolutely loved the overall experience staying there.

The hotel was not clean and hygene. They are using everything older. The staffs was arogant. Staffs are not experienced and trained. They don't know anything. All the furniture and accessories in room was not like seen in the picture of the hotel advertisement. All are old and damged one. From my personal experience . Don't ever come to this hotel. Your vacation /holidays trip with your family will be in trouble and waste. Utterly waste hotel. The only good and interesting point of this hotel is its location and near beach. Rest everything litterly waste and bad.

The hotel was great! I'd specifically like to mention that the staff service was top of the class. Very friendly and helpful service. The rooms are clean and cozy. We even got an upgrade from standard deluxe to superior rooms with a balcony, but me being quite a tall fellow found the room to be too small for my taste. The pool was amazing, quite a long pool for a hotel and very enjoyable. Food was nice as well with grand portions but I would recommend against the soups and ice cream because everytime I had soup it was not warm and ice cream would always be melted. Apart from that I would say it was a perfect vacation here.

Great location and bedding. Expected more facilities such as a games room and a functioning gym. Dinner and lunch buffet can be better. Breakfast was amazing! Overall had a good relaxing holiday.

Nice I would say one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. Really good rooms and friendly staff. Buffet was superb but A la carte food was not up to the standard. Nice swimming pool. Beach bath is a must to try.

We stayed at this property for 2 nights and had the best experience in terms of service , location and overall experience.Well maintained and spacious property with beach at a walking distance and all the rooms are facing the beach. The staff is very courteous and extremely helpful and they go out of their way to help the guests .The restuarant is also facing the beach and the pool is close to the beach .Highly recommended place for stay if you are in bentota ! Special mention for Kanchana and Nishanta who are generous and take the time to get to know their guests !

Right there on beach 2 minute walking distance to beach and 2 minute walking distance to children park.. which was also beautiful.. breakfast buffet was ok . Lots of varities for non vegetarian people.. sri lankan food was served only.. Indian food should be added in breakfast .. overall good stay.. room balcony was facing sea shore . So beautiful.. Hotel staff LAKMAN was really helpful. Thank you for making our stay so beautiful

It's a good hotel which require a huge renovation and maintenance. I cannot accept this as a 4 star hotel. The website mentions it has iron and iron board, but both are not available in the room. No bath robes, tissues, brush etc. Further, I booked a king bed room, but the room had 2 single beds. Can't take photographs from the balcony because it's not painted for a while. Very tight and old doors. But the food is good. However they'll charge more than 25% of tax & service charge (they don't have full board option when booking from the website) The beach view is excellent though. You can walk to the left side of the hotel in the beach and experience the sunset view!

Best customer service and rooms also new. We went their with friends and family and friends. Overall wonderful experience. Staff very supportive they prepared kids food every time we ask. For improvements In the dinner buffet pork and chick dishes bit salty ☺️

Booked 2 rooms ( Double and Triple room) for one day for me and my family. The location is Great, but the hotel needs renovations/ proper maintenance and cleaning. The carpets inside the rooms were dusty and the bathrooms had a bad odor and the washbasin were clogged. There were only 2 water bottles in the Triple room and no additional towels for the third person. The food was "ok" but not great. I hope they will improve these shortcomings in the future.

Customer service was excellent , the staff was friendly and supportive. The food was very tasty and the buffet spread was surprisingly good considering the prevailing situation in the country. The view is great and the rooms are spacious and clean but needs to be renovated. The AC system is centralized and the controller didn't respond at all so we were unable to adjust the air conditioning to our liking, other than that everything was ok and we had a nice stay.

Ekho surf was amazing place to experience swimming pool and sea together from your back door of the room. Joyful stay at the hotel, it has a very long garden. Good place for a couple and family to spend time with. I didn't experience the food in the hotel.
