I would say it was a simply fantastic experience. From the time they put that little band when you check in, they pamper your by letting you have 24 hour access to many outlets and restaurants around the hotel premises so that you can eat and drink to your hearts content . Fantastic swimming pools with access to the bar serving stunning cocktails all Free of Charge! (All inclusive Full board Rate) with entertainment all day around and in the evening showcasing Bands, stage shows etc. The type of Hotel that makes you feel that you had a little more time to enjoy. I will definitely go again and recommend it to anyone who wants to have a really good time.

Full board, unlimited food and drink package is a really good package. There are 6 different buffet for your one day stay at hotel. Namely, snack, dinner, post hours, breakfast, continental breakfast, and lunch. They have a good variety of food. It is good if they can increase number of meat items especially seafood items. When comes to drinks they have both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks but there was more water in all drinks. The overall ambience of the hotel was great, relaxing and perfect setting for vacation. Rooms were at their best. There were lot of entertainment events as well. The staff was really friendly and their service at next level. There were four pools including a kids pool. You can access the beach as well. Recommended place.

It was an incredible experience for me to recently stay at the Hotel Riu Sri Lanka. In terms of amenities and services, the hotel surpassed my expectations. I was happy to get to know that the restaurants were open 24 hrs, giving the opportunity to grab a bite whenever wanted. The food was excellent and there was a vast range of cuisines available. The hotel also included a number of bars that served a wide variety of beverages and cocktails and it was also available for 24hrs. The accommodations had a fantastic view of the beach and were tidy, roomy, and well-kept. The hotel includes a number of pools including a kids play area, which is amazing. The hotel's location is ideal, and the beach is fantastic. To anyone hoping to have a relaxing time with family or friends, I would highly recommend Hotel Riu Sri Lanka.

Loved our stay here. The hotel was very clean, spacious and airy. Buffet spread variety was limited (possibly because we went on a weekday) but the food was delicious. There were snacks being served after breakfast and after lunch. Loved the view from the sea view suite. The staff were welcoming, friendly and super helpful. Overall a very good and happy experience. Highly recommended.

The experience at this hotel was exceptional... The Hotel Arrangement is highly satisfactory... Hotel Service is unique, especially the All-inclusive packages encourage free movements of the visitors. The view of the surroundings(especially the beach) is mind-blowing, especially in the evening and morning. For kids, this is a perfect place to enjoy separate Swimming pools, evening events, and also at dining areas. For adults, you may enjoy endless fun with different types of liquors and evening functions...The rooms are so comfortable and have been arranged perfectly...(There is a little problem if you are with little children with water in bathrooms due to having no drop to the passage)…Room Service is effective and will fulfill all your requirements...I and my family enjoyed the stayed in this hotel very much with all service and customer care provided...

Beautiful place. Spacious hotel with modern, chic interior. They’ve got a few restaurants to satisfy your cravings. Quick access to the beach, which is always a plus point. They’ve got a number of different pools. Saturday night offers an entertaining evening for all guests with various performances. The food was great!

I was here for one night few weeks back. I booked two partial sea view rooms. Upon arrival I was offered an upgrade to direct sea view which was really nice. Here you will get 24 hours all inclusive package, where dining and bar available at all times. There are 5 - 6 restaurants which are open in different times of the day. When one restaurant closes, another will open. Overall experience is great. It's a good place to hang out with friends. Although the infinity pool doesn't serve it's purpose, the adult pool with the pool bar is enough to enjoy your evenings. If you have a RIU account you might be able to get a discounted rate ( I got somewhere around 11k )

Went for an all inclusive package. We had several issues from the start. It took almost an hour to checkin. You need to download their app to make reservations for certain restaurants and the app is so buggy. Gave us wrong errors and we couldn’t make any reservations because of that. Even though its a five star hotel the dental kits and toiletries are only on request. Its not in your room unless you call and ask them. Breakfast and lunch was good. Snack bar is mediocre. Bartenders don’t give a damn if you are a local. You have to call them 2 3 times to get a drink. And has an attitude. If you are a foreigner you will have a pleasant service. Pros - place is clean, staff at restaurants are friendly, rooms and the location are nice.

This was our second visit as a family, 5 years after the first. Nothing had changed. The rooms, decor, layout and facilities had remained as they were in 2018. The hotel itself is clean and tidy and well maintained. The room, which was upgraded, was a sea view and was just big enough for a family with pre teen kids. The AC worked well, the beds were comfortable enough and the room staff were very diligent. The one thing that could be improved in the room is the re stock of the water/fridge. Around the hotel the staff were amazing and always ready to help and assist if you required any help. Zero issues in this instance. The food was plentiful and quite delicious if sometimes repetitive. Personally i would have liked a larger, spicier variety of local dishes but for the sake of a few rupees i can get that outside as you can’t cater to 500 people individually. As for the daily activities the hotel could advertise these a little better and have staff involving guests during the day. Perhaps by way of signing up or highlighting a meeting place for a specific activity. All in all a good trip.

I had a one-day stay last month, and despite the high occupancy rate on that date, they still offered me a room upgrade. I must say, the food, snacks, and beverages were absolutely exceptional and unlimited. The pools were fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay. I'm already looking forward to visiting again soon.

All inclusive resort with lot to offer. Mostly favoured by cooperate outings. Good selection of food and beverages. Entertainment and leisure is highly expected. Good tourist attraction among many countries. Recommended for friends who like to go on all inclusive holidays and quick getaway with highway access. Staff is friendly and professional. Lovely room very clean and spacious. Plenty of drawers and hanging room. Staff all very smiley and welcoming. Pools lovely and clean and children are asked to stay out Adult pool! A bit noisy in room at night but music stops at 11. All inclusive is extremely good. An excellent place to stay if you want to stay and relax by pool. Animation team all very bubbly and ask if you want to join in but no pressure.

We were also fortunate enough to get a room upgrade, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, offering a great view of the beach. The hotel has multiple swimming pools, which we enjoyed thoroughly. The location of the hotel is perfect, and the beach is simply wonderful. The hotel had a plethora of activities to take part in, including a DJ in the evening. We also had access to the jacuzzi and sauna bath, which were included in the 24 hrs all-inclusive package. It was an amazing experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One thing to note is that the hotel has a no drone policy, and we were not allowed to take the drone inside the hotel or fly it at the beach. Overall, we had a memorable vacation, and we would highly recommend Hotel Riu Sri Lanka to anyone looking to relax with family or a couple of friends. Hotel Riu is a nice place located in Ahungalla. But we have to stay until 3.00 pm to check in.The room and attached bathroom were very clean. But we have to ask for dental kits, bathroom slippers and shower caps & bath robes separately. When I asked for bathroom slippers from reception, the lady who answered didn't respond well for that. Only 2 soaps were there in the bathroom. The buffet is really good, but I expected more than that. Even 4 star hotels provide the same at cheap price. The bar and that staff were really good. Pool, bar, Extra activities were amazing. The place is highly crowded If you want to stay calm, not recommended at all. By the way the place is overall good to visit.

Location fantastic (2hours south of Colombo and right on the beach in a secluded spot). Food is very good and caters for all tastes and fresh. 4 pools including Adults and Children only pools. Rooms are very clean with comfortable beds and air conditioning. Evening entertainment every night with late night drinking bar available for those who stay up past 12. The set up ensures a relaxing time with plenty of different spaces to chill out.

Excellent destination! Nice views, delectable food, and satisfying rooms although the rooms are bit small and packed. Good service from the staff truly made our dining experience outstanding. The combination of stunning scenery, 24hrs unlimited delicious cuisine, and remarkable service made our stay truly exceptional. Been there twice and will come again. Recommended.

The reception was just horrible. They won’t answer the phone and even when they answer are not of any help. They are also lackluster and inefficient. However the rooms , facilities and the restaurant staff were excellent. The food although there were a good selection was not very tasty ; may be they were catering to the European palate. The pools were clean and the night time entertainment was good. All in all a good value for money. The management need to look into the working of the reception as it just spoils the excellence of the rest of the staff.

Quite possibly the worst service experience I've had at a hotel of this caliber. We had our annual corporate getaway here and was a group of 20+. I was recovering from a forearm fracture & had my arm in a cast + sling. While the staff did help me get my bag out of the vehicle and on to the scanner, no one of free help after that point. After checking in and taking the elevator to the relevant floor, I asked directions from three employees who were just standing there. One of them gave directions and just walked away, without so much as offering to take my bag. Forget that fact that this is the hospitality industry, I think it's basic human decency to offer to help someone with an obvious injury. At the restaurant, there was clearly preferential treatment for the white patrons. They were all greeted upon seating & offered tea/coffee while we had to try more than once just to get attention. It's very sad to see this kind of racial discrimination happening in an international chain. Food and beverages were decent, with a wide range of selections. There were adequate options for vegans. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Slept very well. My negative review is purely based on the service (or lack thereof). I would not recommend this to any person with a disability or injury, or to local tourists in general.

A very beautiful and clean place and close to the capital, Colombo. My children and I went for a weekend vacation, and it was a very beautiful vacation for the beauty and splendor of the hotel, and the recreational activities in the hotel make you spend the entire day in the hotel without the need to leave it. Literally everything is available from food, snacks and drinks throughout the day for adults And children, there were activities in the evening for adults, live performances, live music, and activities in the swimming pool, such as games and competitions, and the rooms were clean and beautiful overlooking the beach and the swimming pool. This hotel is ideal for having some fun with friends and family. There was not welcome at all. you can enjoy some music events here (especially on weekends). They have a snack bar other than the buffet, good variety of food and beverages and also staff is friendly. In-room dining option Not Available. Do not recommend to anyone who wants to spend their vacation calmly.

Massive hotel. Rooms are clean but can be improved when compare with other 5 star hotels. Buffet was great. Lot of varieties and delicious food. Pool areas are also super to spend evening. Kids loved the kids pool. Hotel is conducting entertainment activities in weekend as well. Overall very good stay!

Good hotel for few days to stay. Beautiful beach. Nice staff. Complimentary early check in with free breakfast and lunch. Beach boys a bit annoying outside the hotel. If you want to have a good massage go along the beach to Mallika Ayurveda center. 60min treatment was worth to try. Highly recommend

Had a wonderful time with RIU team and their hospitality. Everyone from the staff are really friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Great view of the hotel and the ocean from the rooms. Can have a relaxing time at the beach in the evening watching sunset. Food was one of the biggest highlights of the hotel. Restaurant buffet was full of different varieties and simply delicious. And they have dining options throughout the day for all coming in with all inclusive option. Pool facilities are excellent and have a pool bar also. Great place to visit and spend your day with family or friends.

It was our first time to Riu and it was very good. From the check in to check out the staff was good as well. However... The food was the only issue. As it is a 5 star hotel they should have more options. Very small buffet, no seafood at all. This is the first time ever I went to a 5 star hotel without seafood. Deserts - it really was not up to par as there was never a good selection. They should look in to this. It might be because the inflation but if so they should have increased the rate and give what is called ALL INCLUSIVE a meaning

After hours restaurant was empty by 2PM. not enough cups for the guests in there. Buffet is very good. Crowd wasn't good. Place is very beautiful. We had to ask the dental kits. No games to play except table tennis. There was a night show and a musical band. It was unexpected and good to see.

We had an awesome time at this lovely resort. The location was beautiful and our kids had a delightful time in the pools. They had very clean rooms and facilities, delicious food and the kids show was fantastic to watch. This is undoubtedly one of the best hotels we have ever been to!

Massive structure with 04 pools, beautiful garden. Not much crowd owing to the country's situation but still able to see many foreign guests. The hotel is maintaining their standards in spite of low number of guests. We should appreciate that. Buffet are international standard with many varieties. The cocktails are not the best but other drinks are very good. There were musical stage shows . Rooms are very good. Air-conditioning has good blow. Overall memorable stay

Dramatic beach view. Nice placement planning towards the location. They give you really cool open bar service with nice selection of beverages. But seriously, need more bartenders. Calm place. People mind their own business. Huge restaurant area with variety of foods from different cultures. If you ever gonna go here, please eat their delicious smoked salmon. Its really good. Has large pool area with the bar. Parking space with driver accommodations. Partial and full ocean view rooms up to five stories. Rooms look too portable so not really feels cozy. But looking at the beach from your terrace while smoking a joint with sipping a hot chocolate is priceless...
