We went there for our honeymoon stay. It was amazing and the hospitality was superb. Staff is very friendly, specially the buffet had so many varieties and the food were yummy.. Rooms are well maintained and very clean. The hotel ambience and the architectural design was excellent. It was a lovely stay.. and highly recommend. Definitely will check in again... ❤

The location is superb with both the ocean view and the lake view. Plus the place is huge and rooms also had amole space. I was in premium terrace with the ocean view, but sadly the view was blocked by some trees. The staff is courteous and friendly. The food could be better though. Anyway had a wonderful time there. Also there are water sports within the hotel in the river. But you'd better experience it in the ocean. Jetski ride in the ocean is one of a kind experience.

An amazing property with beach nearby and a railway crossing at it gate. The best part is the reception where you are welcomed with the beautiful aroma of Cinnamon. The rooms and service is simply amazing. The staff if very welcoming. Food was good too. The lawns are clean and green. Lawns are ocean facing which gives and amazing view of Indian Ocean. The beach is clean and peaceful. Overall an amazing experience which will be etched in our memories.

Location of this hotel is great. Such a lovely beach! and a great pool area. Service could be better as initial check in they took us to the wrong rooms and we had to wait a long time for our rooms to be ready. Food at this hotel was amazing and stuff during the stay was really accommodating. The play room is lovely for little kids and it keeps them busy!

We (family of 10) came here for dinner.. Sad we came on a Monday. They said on Mondays their buffet layout is the smallest. If this was the smallest, I'm damn keen to see when they have their widest spread. We were in two minds whether to go or not.. But am glad we did end up going.. Just to see the hotel architecture and interiors is in itself a special treat. Kudos to the designers and special kudos to the owners who must have given the designers such a free hand.. The food was superb and the attentive staff at the next level.. Am sad we don't have more days. We leave Bentota tom.. Else would've come again and again to enjoy the place..

I've stayed in many hotels in Sri Lanka's deep south and without a doubt, this was at the top of my list of the finest stays/experiences I've ever had. The hospitality, cuisine, and services are all excellent. We first planned a one-night stay, but we quickly decided to extend it to two days, and I'm glad we did. We moved to a suite, and the room's comfort, facilities, and view were all excellent. The staff at the hotel are indeed the nicest part. They will go above and beyond to meet all of your expectations. The staff was the friendliest we'd met thus far, and they made our stay seem really cosy and comfortable. This adds to the hotel's uniqueness. Special thanks to Heshani Charles (Service Manager – Front Office), Amanda, Petrina Doolan - Service Manager – Front Office (Lifestylist) and Ashane Fernando - service manager, for organizing the lodging and personalizing the packages to pretty much all they could possibly do. The hotel staff will go above and beyond to accommodate your every request, whether it's a unique drink or a certain food/item that isn't on the menu/facilities. The hotel's housekeeping staff also did an excellent job of keeping the rooms clean and sanitized. I'd also want to say a few things about the kids' center - having a playroom for kids was fantastic! Our children were thrilled by it, and it kept them entertained. Dear Cinnamon Bentota, we can't wait to return to this great, magnificent hotel and visit all of the people who have become like family to us!

Cinnamon Bentota Beach is a fabulous place and it made our holiday get away a worthwhile. We were so welcoming and we felt that they were awaiting for us. We had a unique welcome drink and it was fantastic. Rooms are facing to the sea and Front office team done a great job. Food is very tasty and the buffet spread was out of the world. Definitely we will recommend this place and look forward to visit again.

It was a nice stay at the Cinnamon Bentota Beach. The resort is a big one with a huge lobby/lounge bar, lots of rooms and suites, multiple pools and 2 main restaurants, a big kids play area that also serves as a recreation room. Most of the staff were very courteous. The spa was good. The food, however, was just fine. I felt there wasn't much variety on offer and the seafood restaurant's menu was disappointly brief. Rooms were spacious and clean. I had a couple of issues with my room so I got upgraded to a suite which was a nice gesture by the resort. I had a few issues with the service as well and many times, I had to ask twice to get things done and once or twice it never got done. Overall, it was a good experience but not one that'd make me want to visit again.

One of the best day outs I've ever had. The hotel was excellent, staff was so friendly, was welcomed in a very traditional way with drums. The buffet was so good, with a lot of ranges ranging from Sri Lankan, Chinese, Indian and Western. The pool was excellent. The view was excellent especially the bay. Overall, its the best place for a day out or a vacation. Planning to go there for a long vacation soon.

We stayed at Cinnamon Bentota Beach for our anniversary and it was one of the best stays we’ve had. We felt like we escaped into paradise momentarily despite what’s going around in the country at present. The best thing about this property is the stunning location and how amazing the food was! We’ve been to a lot of buffets but this hotel made sure every item was made to perfection! The massive pools and long walks at the property made our stay very memorable. The staff from the front office had arranged for a complimentary cake at dinner which was a pleasant surprise! All in all would definitely return to this lovely place!

Located between the river mouth and the sea, this is a lovely hotel. Clean and spacious. The rooms are large and well appointed. You don't fall over other guests even if the place is full. Very large pool, divided into several sections. The service was friendly and generally efficient, even though staff is a bit low. Food was great. However, be ready to walk, as the place is quite spread out.

Cinnamon Bentota beach hotel is one of the best places for a stay. We checked in to the hotel for our honeymoon stay & we both were super satisfied with the services they provided us! I must say that the resort ambience is absolutely stunning with an amazing view and a clean beach access. Buffet is gorgeous and tasty which are served in large portions. Further, they had additional activities available around the hotel such as water sports and boat rides. The hotel ambiance and cleanliness too was in great quality! Ample parking available. Went there very recently. The hotel staff was very supportive, friendly and professional. They attended my needs/requests promptly. The hotel is magnificient, both interior and exterior decorations are out of the world. The hotel is located at the perfect spot. The rooms are spacious and facing beach, you also have access to the river if you want to do water sport. The pools are very large and divided into segments. The food is very delicious and the buffet spread was perfect. Highly recommended.

Spectacular hotel in every possible way. The hotel is 5 minute walk from Bentota train station and very close to bus stops. The views are stunning and the hotel is very well maintained. Room is extremely clean and well stocked with all amenities. Staff are very friendly and always positive. The beach and pool are well maintained and extremely clean. The food was just stunning. We stayed on FB basis and breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all very very good with a good spread of items all of which were tasty. If you are considering booking this hotel you 100% should, it will not disappoint.

This is a totally amazing hotel in a most amazing location! Bentota beach is beautiful, super serene and not crowded! That speaks volumes right there! Cinnamon Bentota Beach is a lovely 5-star hotel with every amenity you need and want on vacation! The staff are amazing! A special mention for Hansika and Ayesha from the front-desk team for their hospitality and genuine warmth! It was our anniversary and we found the hotel room decorated and a cake waiting for us in the room! All of this falls under the category of going "Above and beyond". The daily buffet breakfast left us struggling on what to eat as there were so many delicious choices! We enjoyed breakfast so much that it was easy to skip lunch! A truly lovely hotel, in a quiet area of Sri Lanka! - we're coming back soon!

We stayed there for two nights. The staff was very nice for us. When we first arrived at the hotel i loved when they played the drums and let us go in. I loved the pool. We also loved the kids play area. We had a memorable stay. We would come back for sure.

Great service and food. Very good rooms, but a few annoyances that would be very easy to fix, like very cheap TV's with no interesting content, and lightswitches that are needlessly complicated. Also, in this time of year, humidity is extreme, so you *have* to run the AC to keep things dry, and the windows will get covered in condensation. Still, nothing serious, so an overall 5-star experience, with the best service we've seen in Sri Lanka.

From check in to check out everything was great. Rooms were spacious and had a modern vibe. Only thing had an issue was the floor, it was always wet due to the humidity. Overall it was good. Service was good. There were few servers with grumpy faces but majority of them were very friendly. Location was great easy to find and access. The pool was well maintained. One of the pools had steps into the pool which is a major hazard for anyone. Food was fantastic from the starters to dessert it was well spread out. Quality of the products were great. The prices are kind into the higher side but it's worth the price. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Overall experience I would say 8.3/10

I love just about everything this place. The food, ambiance and service is top notch. The sunsets are beautiful and the pool is definitely one of a kind. There’s a kid’s playroom and a special area for water sports too. Would totally recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel set in huge grounds. Lovely pool area. Immediately adjacent to a fantastic stretch of beach. Food in both the pool bar and main restaurant is superb. The staff are friendly and helpful. We loved our room and large terrace overlooking the beach. Bed is super comfy. Thoroughly recommend it 🙂

This is a great hotel in every sense. Super attentive friendly and professional staff, nice food and cocktails, and really cozy beautiful rooms (they look even better than in the photos!). In Sri Lanka, not all beaches are suitable for swimming, Cinnamon Bentota has a perfect one. Also I can not help but note: - nice gym - massive well equipped kids zone with animators

Been in Bentota Beach Hotel on 2015, while visiting Sri Lanka with my friends. friendly staff, clean hotel, big pool, The space are modern. Located near to the beach. Sure will comeback to stay here soon, when the pandemic is over.

A great hotel situated between a beautiful beach and river. 159 rooms. 2 large pools and a smaller baby pool. The food is very good and generous portions. The North Indian tasting platter is especially recommended. All staff are very friendly and helpful. We visited during covid restrictions and spa was shut and restaurants were centralised in one location but still an excellent stay. Great for families of all ages.

New pools are kids safe, Yes there are more than one pool now. And fully equipped kids zone as well. Pub and pool bar is not the cheapest... good staff as expected.

From checking-in to checking-out, from a traditional Sri Lankan welcoming to a farewell, the experience we had was amazing. Even as a Sri Lankan, I've never experienced this much of hospitality until the hospitality that were given by the staff of Cinnamon Bentota Beach. The view and the environment around was one of a kind. The food was not limited to single varieties but ranged from authentic Sri Lankan cuisine to various international cuisines. Overall an excellent and a wonderful experience.

Old Bentota Beach refurbished to next level by Cinnomon. Traveled with 3 families and lots of kids, spent 2 nights on full board. The food was 5 stars throughout and was really worth it. The main addition was the kids play area... huge area to keep the kids busy for hours. Big ball pit, books, toys even got snooker, fuzzball and table hockey for adults. Worth the stay and highly recommended.

Great place to relax and enjoy water sports! The food wasn't as great as it used to be but the spread was massive! The staff very polite and attentive and will go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay.

How we have missed Bentota. The Frangipani Suite was our home away from home for four years during our posting in Colombo. It was only a short drive down the Galle Expressway and we loved it. The staff were always friendly and attentive, the food was great (our boys loved the Saturday night buffet). We miss Bentota and Sri Lanka.

Loved the newly renovated place. Extreme comfort in every corner. New Pools were superb. Very good for parents with kids as Thier pools and play areas are designed just for kids. Food is the only lacking department. Buffet was bit on the blunt side for the Sri lankan palette.

Arranged a surprise dinner at a separate area overlooking the river. Top notch hospitality and flexibility. We were provided their 5-star set menu but changing a few meals here & there (particularly changing her main course to her usual Margarita pizza 🤦🏻‍♂️) was just a request away. We were allocated a personal assistant through the whole stay & all the meals were quite flavoursome. Arranging an additional roof for our hut since we were passing some rainy days, a last minute flower bouquet, all were conveniently sorted out. Shout out to Dharaka for his assistance.

Good hotel ambience and location. Rooms are well maintained. Only issue is with the food service, its takes at least 45min to 1hr post you order. If you are not in hurry and have lot of patience than only order your food, sometimes you might get cold food. Swimming pool are maintained in good condition and in pool bar only drink which you will get on time is beer, for rest if the drink they need to refer their preparation manual.

Amazing hotel with excellent hospitality from the moment you enter the hotel premises. The suite is amazing with ample of space plus it's the perfect place to be at if you have kids. The hotel has a kids play area which is neat, clean and very safe. In room dining tastes really good..so did the drinks. Overall: definitely one of the best hotels we came and would definitely come back again. Friendly staff. Perfect for families. Every amenity was available and we didn't have to bother housekeeping as they ensured everything was there for us.

This is one of the all time favourite hotels of mine. Since the my childhood, I love this place mostly for the people in it. It is a massive property with the possibility of hosting hundreds at a time, still they never take out the personal touch they bring in to every gust. We recently spent our honeymoon there and we can't think of a better place! The food is amazing! The rooms are new and well maintained. No complain at all! Highly recommended

Had a nice time with family. Food was delicious with Srilankan,Indian & Italian menu. Swimming was large & very clean. Very easy access to the beach. Highly recommended for families, they also have a good indoor playing area.

One of the most great hotel I have visited recently. There buffet was filled with multiple cuisines like asian , Indian, Chines and Italian.food was very delicious! And there hospitality also in very high level. Kudos to that kind, polite and well trained staff! Another good thing is you can access to beach as well since its located facing to ocean.

Excellent all round 1. Buffet spread was wonderful and covers multiple cuisines. Indian, Sri lankan, western etc. The dessert selection is especially good! 2. Service standards. The hotel industry and its staff really suffered from the lack of tourists. One can truly see.how much they appreciate having guests back in the hotel. They upgraded us with an amazing room with a great view.

Three weeks stay in this beautiful hotel south of the capital Columbo. The house has been extensively renovated, including the outdoor areas and pools. Everything is there to feel comfortable here. To be highlighted is the extremely friendly staff. In particular, I would like to thank the two service employees, Bimal and Priyantha. They take care of their guests attentively and courteously. Unfortunately, other individual service employees are not very concentrated at work; there is certainly room for improvement here. Breakfast was included, always very rich, a large selection, this could also be reduced a bit, focusing more on quality of the individual products, that's my personal opinion. Also applies to dinner. Outside the hotel in the immediate vicinity there are a number of very good restaurants, including some seafood restaurants that have fresh fish, lobster, etc. on offer. A suggestion for improvement would be to pay more attention to the quality of the standard wines in the restaurant, these are offered relatively expensive, but with a few exceptions are of very simple quality. The price-performance ratio is not right here. Training of the employees in the operation of the espresso machine is also good for the quality of the coffee products. But only noticed that in passing. I would also like to point out that local people outside of the hotel offer day tours to national parks or other tourist destinations. We met a very reliable friendly young man who made our stay with three excursions very interesting. These people suffered particularly from the corona pandemic, as there were practically no tourists and their income was lost. In any case, it was an all-round successful vacation with high recreational value! Thanks to the team from the Cinnamon Hotel!

Been here many times before, this being the first time after the gut renovation. The hotel itself one of Geoffrey Bawa's finest is an architectural treat on the eyes. Happy to say Bentota Beach retains its old charm and the modernisation has not affected this! An hours drive from the Colombo, situated facing a wide sandy beach on one side and the Bentota River on the other side it is not hard to see why this hotel remains a true icon of weekend gateways. Even with the highways opening u areas further along the coast as potential options for a weekend gateway Bentota Beach remains a strong contender. With excellent food, a very relaxing ambiance along with lots of water sport activities both at sea and on the river there would always be something to do. The layout is a little confusing for both new and old guests alike and more signage would definitely help. Service is solid especially in the main restaurant and the lobby bar but has room for improvement when it comes to the rooms and arrivals. The arrival process at the gate was a little disorganised, however check in was smooth and efficient. Our rooms were in the West Wing and there were towels missing, one of the toilets wasn't flushing properly and the safe in the room was locked. One would think these would be checked before handing over rooms. Hope these issues are teething issues and are sorted with time! The new buffet restaurant is a tad on the smaller side gets crowded at meal times so come early to avoid the bustle. Travelled in Dec' 21 with family. Stayed for 2 nights over a weekend.

Finding good cup of coffee can be a challenge in Sri Lanka. Bentota is no exception in this matter. We have heard nice things about the Cinnamon hotel from our tour guide, and we were thinking that there is a good chance that they have good coffee too. Upon arrival we were guided to the bar, which is located right after reception. Area is air conditioned with a very nice view. That alone was worth experiencing. I have noticed a coffee machine, so we were in luck. And indeed the cappuccino was excellent with a nice touch of a complimentary chocolate cookie. We remembered that our guide mentioned hotel excursions, so we’ve decided to try that too. We had to wait for a while before tour guide finishes ongoing tour, but reception people were kind enough to show us around, before it. I will not give any spoilers here except that the tour itself was excellent. If you even remotely interested in architecture, design and history, you should definitely visit.

Booked last minute and was pleasantly surprised! Fantastic location nestled between a river with water sports and the beautiful Bentota beach with it soft sand. The hotel had all the modern creature comforts and amenities with luxury and comfort being a main focus. Staff were helpful and courteous always with a smile. Travelling with a 6 year old with the added bonus of a fully equipped cresh and child minding complementary!! Our luxury room was facing the ocean and the best view we’ve ever had in all our travels. First class food - absolutely decadent. Would come here again in a heartbeat.

Had an excellent stay with two nights of great adventure. The food was awesome the staff The Asset was exemplary. So friendly and always with a smile. We all felt at home. The room was quite spacious and comfy. I would like to reserve special praise for F&B crew and front desk. Thank you so much we shall always come back to the beautiful hotel.

My experience at cinnamon benthota beach was nothing short of first class! Absolutely everything from checking in to checking out was hassle free and well coordinated. The atmosphere and the food were splendid. The different cuisines and the variety range were kind of a wonder and the taste was perfection!
