Having read all the raves about this fish bar on the seafront of Great Yarmouth, and being a huge fan of fish & chips when done well myself, I needed to visit the place ... and was disappointed. Granted, the cod itself was excellent, if not as huge as I expected given I had ordered the large cod & chips. The cod was firm and flaky, the crust crunchy and delicious. However, the chips were flabby and undercooked, as they are at oh so many British fish & chips outlets, and the baked beans of the standard Heinz pre-made variety. Also, there was no tartar sauce that came with the dish, which mystifies me as it is an essential part of fish & chips (You can order them with curry sauce, which I don't think is very suitable). The price is also at the upper end of the spectrum, only partially redeemed by the better than average seating inside. Drinks are expensive, too - and there's not much variety, which is sadly normal. Service was efficient and quick, but not terribly friendly. Summing up, I find the popularity of Fish & Grill to be mystifying, considering the many alternative options. The fish & chips at The Pub on the Prom, which is closer to the Britannia Pier, were much better.

We called today for fish and chips. We had our little dog with us, he was made welcome. We ordered fish and chips twice, one with mushy peas and my husband requested salad with his in place of mushy peas. We both had a cup of tea and a slice of bread, total cost £33.00. The restaurant is clean and well decorated with fresh flowers on the tables. Toilets are available. Service was quick and friendly. Food was tasty, hot and reasonable portion size, prices are on the higher side but you expect to pay extra to sit in comfort and be waited upon.

Last week we went to Great Yarmouth with family and my cousin’s family for holidays and we had fish and chips from Fish & Grill , we liked the food , atmosphere & service as well but the prices are very high , for eg: large fish and chips they are charging around £18.95. We ordered drinks as Pepsi but we just felt like a glass of water . We just ordered for 2 large Cod fish & chips with 2 glass of drinks and 5 sausages for children for that they charged around £ 87 . There’s a take away shop nearby this restaurant , they’re giving large fish & chips for £8.95😃. We saw the price menu after they arranged the tables for us that’sy we cudn’t go for that . But the ambiance is very nice and tidy as well . Suitable for the family.

20 of us were on a school reunion trip at Great Yarmouth from London. We decided to drop in here for fish and chips as it was halal too. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint, excellent and superb food, top top marks and very high quality, no one had any complaints, highly recommended 200%, you must try. Lastly as we nearly took up a quarter of the restaurant and we’re acting a bit like kids, the staff who served us, we very efficient and very attentive, they under pressure and did a fantastic job, considering only 2 covering the whole shop floor, from my catering background, naturally I observe eateries and I tell you, Erika and Danny worked like clockwork, excellent communication skills, very calm under pressure and their service was exemplary 500%! Hats off and nothing but high praises to Erika and Danny, thank you 😊 Owner as discussed, please take note, again thank you all and no doubt i look in visiting you again in the near future. 👊🏽

Overall experience was good. The fish was kinda bland. The chips was nice and the mushy peas was runny. But overall was okay, but for the price I definitely thought it could have been a lot more flavourful! But I would probably try it again if we was in the area. It wasn't awful but didn't tickle the taste buds.

Genuinely best fish and chips I've ever had! Girlfriend has the Chicken Kebab - best she's ever had in this country. Great portion size. Only thing is the price, slightly more than usual place but the quality makes this more than worth it. Waitresses were excellent too.

Generally ok food, well presented but nothing special.drinks a bit slow to arrive to the table. Cocktails generally ok. Calimari was good, Sad to see the restaurant using several different types of plastic straws for drinks. These were banned over a year ago but evident on most tables. Was disappointed seeing this especially with the issue of plastic waste in the sea which is just a few yards away.

A coeliac haven - all fish available gluten free, which means CHOICE!! I have tried most of the menu and although I love the classic cod and chips (and I find their portions spot-on at a regular for one) the battered halloumi and onion rings are firm favourites! Can’t believe they’re gluten free, the batter is incredible. They also have gluten free vinegar behind the counter if you ask for it. Completely dog friendly too, both the takeaway section and the restaurant. I prefer takeaway and sitting by the beach, but the restaurant is nice to sit in too, especially when it’s chillier. There’s a toilet at the back which is always clean and well looked after. As a coeliac, I travel specially here for fish and chips, and it’s my favourite safe place to eat in Great Yarmouth.
