Place to visit once to view the beauty of nature. Around 14000ft high so be cautious about altitude sickness.

The Gosaikunda region has been depicted as a religious site. Hindu folklore credits Gosaikunda as the habitation of the Hindu god Shiva and Gauri. Completely natural! It is the place with religious importance, especially for Buddhists and Hindus. It was the lake believed to be created by Lord Shiva's trident. Lord Shiva quenched the pain in his throat due to poison created during Samundra Manthan, which is straightforwardly connected with the beginning of Gosaikunda. Its waters are viewed as blessed and of specific importance during the Janai Purnima celebrations where huge number of travelers from Nepal and India visit this site. September -octuber- November is tha best time.I suggest Gosaikunda circuit trekking. Starting from Kathmandu- Sundarijal -Chisapani-Kutumsang- Thadepati-Ghopte- Upper Ghopte- Phedi- SuryaKunda & other kundas- Gosaikunda-Lauribinayak- SingGompa ( also known as Chandanbari ) -Dhunche-Kathmandu. This circuit trekking takes almost about 5 to 6 days.you can enjoy mesmerizing beauty through way.

Best place to hike within Kathmandu valley. I went there solo. (I do not recommend others as there have been multiple lost cases lately) I completed my journey within 3 days. 1st day (ktm - dhimsa) 2nd day( dhimsa-gosaikunda-chandanbari) 3rd day ( chandanbari-ktm). Avoid walking in the dark. Though I didn't visit there at the best time. Still 👌

Quite a fun trek. A "semi hard" trek with the climb starting from around 2000m and reaching up to 4400+. Some suggestions for those who wanna achieve this trek are: 1. Do carry lots of snacks and energy goodies because the price increases exponentially when you climb up and the only thing you are gonna eat in the trek in hotels are lunch dinner and tea 2. Always carry some extra cash because you may never know 3. Don't forget to take "acetozolamide" medicine on the 1st night of your trek because altitude sickness doesn't discriminate and also carry basic first aid kit and Medicine. 4. Don't be shy to bargain when staying as the prices are a bit high in altitude. For eg: we bargained from 1100 to 950 per person just by asking twice in a sweet tone. 5. If someone starts feeling sick please don't force him/her to ascend but descend with your trek partner to a lower altitude and if the situation worsens ask locals to call the army for rescue. 6. Do not litter as the garbage you throw are either picked up by army campaign or locals or left to never degrade And don't forget to have fun and click lots of photos

Gosaikunda, also spelled Gosainkunda and Gosain Kunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake in Nepal's Langtang National Park, located at an elevation of 4,380 m (14,370 ft) in the Rasuwa District with a surface of 13.8 ha (34 acres).[2] Together with associated lakes, the Gosaikunda Lake complex comprises 1,030 ha (2,500 acres) in size and was designated a Ramsar site on 29 September 2007.[3] The Gosaikunda area has been delineated as a religious site. Hindu mythology attributes Gosaikunda as the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri. The Hindu scriptures Bhagavata Purana, Vishnu Purana and the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata refer to Samudra manthan, which is directly related to the origin of Gosaikunda. Its waters are considered holy and of particular significance during the Gangadashahara and the Janai Purnima festivals when thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India visit the area.[2] According to legend the spring that feeds the pond in the Kumbheshwar temple complex in Patan is connected to Gosaikunda. Therefore, those who cannot make the long journey to the lake, can visit Kumbeshwar Pokhari instead.

A magical place which has a great spiritual significance. You should be careful about - Altitude sickness - Food culture - No. of days you want to spend - Rituals followed - History and religious significance - Rules and regulations of the National Park Based on the season, the total expensidure may vary. I recommend visiting during off season to experience the peaceful Gosaikunda.

The view of Langtang region was mesmerising. The silver mountains were shining brightly. Though this was the most difficult trek of my life. The rain made the path difficult to walk. Had to walk for hours and hours. While you go for long walking treks please go on a good weather season.

Together with associated lakes, the Gosaikunda Lake complex is 1,030 ha (2,500 acres) in size and was designated a Ramsar site on 29 September 2007. The lake melts to form the Trishuli River; it remains frozen for six months in winter October to June. There are 108 lakes in the vicinity. The Lauribina La pass at an elevation of 4,610 m (15,120 ft) is on its outskirts. The Gosaikunda area has been delineated as a religious site. As such it is the subject of a song and a 1987 film inspired by that song.

GOSAIKUNDA LAKE Gosaikunda Lake Gosaikunda Lake Gosaikunda is a famous name for the purest holy lake. It is situated in Rasuwa district. It stands steadily 4,380 meters high from the sea level. This is also well- known for the sacred lake in Nepalese society because of a historical belief that connects the lake to Lord Shiva, the god of power and destruction in Hindu mythology. It was quite a tough trek because of the high altitude on the way upto 4700m i completed my trek in 2 days on the first day dhunche to lauribina second day lauribina gosaikunda and back to dhunche.

You got to be here to believe it. Holy Lake among the Hindus and Buddhists. Also a trekking route among foreign tourists. However, crowded in August or September.(Not recommended for tourists) Basic amenities like the food and the toilets. Exorbitant pricing during the busy season. No telephone tower.

One of the the most beautiful place to trek.. Either for religious purposes or for nature .. You can never get enough of this trek.. Took us 15 hr to get to the top.. We arrived at Dhunche at 1 pm and started our trek at 1:30 PM .. Stayed at Reached Lama Hotel Dhimsa at 6 30 and stayed there.. The stay was good it cost us Rs 500 for dinner and stay.. 1 hr uphill from Dhimsa is Chandan Bari where you have a lots of better options to stay with hot shower as well.. Next Day we started at 7:15 and including 1 and half hr break for lunch and food we reached Gosiakunda at 4: 15. There were about 1 feet snow from Laurbina to Gosiakunda so it was bit hard to walk.. But the Himalayan ranges and beauty along the way was amazing.. There were few people so we had the chance to enjoy the beauty of Gosiakunda lake to fullest.. We stayed at Gosiakunda hotel lakeside for 1500 bed and dinner only. Wifi and charging separate.. hot water in the morning costs extra... Rooms were not so clean.. Next day we walk back to Dhunche and stayed there at hotal National near Kathmandu tickets counter for 500 dinner and bed that had attached bathroom and hot shower.

Gosaikunda, is one of the most beautiful trekking destinations in Nepal. It also has its own religious values as per Hindu religion. Mostly people visit there during Janai Purnima, apart from that trekking seasons are April - May or September - October. I went there at the beginning of April. There were snow on the way. And it was really beautiful. The roads are a little difficult, but it's worth it.

Heavenly, peaceful and powerful ...short 3-4 day trek from sundarijal and helambu... Another alternative: 1-2 day hike from dhunche .. #wild animal like red panda also be spotted in this reason. #good scenery. #cold weather #chances of altitude sicknesses for some people. # helicopter from kathmandu to goshainkunda
