The location was good. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was great...there are any vegan and gluten free options. Room maintenance needs to be improved: the rooms need a touch up and room cleanliness should be definitely improved. I found hair and strange smells in my room.

It’s nothing special, the location is very good and close to most things you probably want to do on your visit. My main problem was our room, there were multiple little things that just put me off a bit. Nothing horrific or anything, but little things like ripped parts of the bed, cable covers not being screwed to the wall, just hanging there, ripped wallpaper, and the cover to our flusher just hanging off the wall (see pictures).

The room wasn't too big. Limited number of the TV channels. Cold bathroom floor. Single sink, even though there were 2 in the photo. Comfortable beds

Lobby / bar area is very nice and give this hotel a bit of continental flair The room was totally OK. I spent two nights during wintertime and I appreciate a low temperature but I can imagine some having more of a problem with that. It was well cleaned but the bed was the usual "Scandic class" which is OK but not more. Dinner in the restaurant was unfortunately mediocre and the beer prices at Scandic are bordering on robbery. Breakfast was OK as per usual at Scandic,

On our arrival we was impressed with the hotel. Reception staff was very helpful in booking us in and explaining how to book breakfast and gym/sauna on a QR code. We was also inform if we want our room cleaned to book it at reception. We stayed in a family room, 2 adults and 2 children. The room and bathroom was spotlessly clean. The children beds was built in bunk beds on the wall that had to be pulled down. (the kids thought this as brilliant) The breakfast was very good. Lots to choose from, cooked breakfast to fruit. There was always a good choice no matter what time you come down. The hotel is very close to public transport, tram, bus and train station next to hotel. The reception staff also give good recommendation for restaurants and was brilliant with our children. The kids free welcome drink was a lovely idea. I would definitely come back again

Pleasant stay in a mid budget hotel. Rooms are comfortable with TV, tea and coffee tray, iron and board, a/c, extra bedding, fan ant coffee table.

A great choice for a location near the station and walking distance to the main sites. On arrival, children were given a free drinks voucher. The spa area has a modern jacuzzi and a sauna. There is also a gym near the relaxation area with views over the city. There is a small car park which is an extra cost.

Jacuzzi and sauna they state; i.e. 15 people in a jacuzzi for 4 people having a party, and sauna at 50 degrees centigrades! Extremely disappointing experience - no control or quality! Stay away this misleading marketing.

The rooms are basic but clean and tidy. Room temperature on the negative side. Breakfast buffet is a must

The worst hotel chain you can find in Scandinavian countries. Not the first time we stayed in Scandic hotels, but never again. Rooms are extremely small. Zero amenities, not even a kettle because they want to sell hot water at 25SEK in the lobby area. They don’t clean the rooms anymore saying it’s to save water, but it’s for their own measures of cost cutting. Well you can make this chain a budget hotel chain and not rip off customers for these poor facilities. Breakfast spread was great but not very tasty food. Hotel reception staff was nice.

Great hotel and restaurant for families. Very friendly staff. Huge thanks to Angelica who was very helpful and changed our booking last minute when our kids got sick and we could not travel as planned. We will be back for sure!

Rented a family suite for four, with basic conditions and supplies. Room is not so big for a family of three and breakfast is always good. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Rooms are a little outdated but the beds are good. Service super, leaving early before breakfast and you are getting a stuffed bag with food to go. Location in the city center is perfect , places to eat are in walking distance

They could improve the bed and please urgent put new pillows because even though I asked for these in the reception they only had one single model. The bed are to short for large people. But breakfast was exceptional 5 star. Acts238

My first stay and booked a bigger room. Rooms are ok and very different from pictures. Room features aren't good ( no tea or coffee available in the room) . Small TV, beds are small. Bathroom door reminded me the doors in ships ( round transparent glass in the middle) . Basic breakfast menu Overall it was Ok. I won't stay here again

The hotel is really nice. Breakfast is good, except from the room which was just way too much heated and that you can't stop the bathroom air vent and the fridge in the room from making noise everything was good.

I would say the best thing about this hotel is the location. It's very close to the train station, city center and Ullevi, so if you're coming to Göteborg to attend something at Ullevi, this is one of the best hotels to choose I think :) Even though its very central, we were not bothered by any noise. It's a big hotel with a spacious bar and restaurant/breakfast area. We were staying here to go to Coldplay's concert, which many other guests were doing as well, so it was fun that the hotel had a Coldplay theme during these days.

The Scandic Crown Hotel gets most of everything right: excellent central location, great breakfast, friendly staff and good rooms. The decor might seem a bit dated, but the overall impression is great. It's a tad too expensive though for five stars considering what you get.

Good location for several activities in goteborg: bus going to liseberg, ferry to denmark and nice restaurants in het city centre. Rooms are spacious, breakfast is very good. Our room wasn't very clean (bin wasn't empty) and there was some dirt. Booked a parking spot for electric vehicle but upon arrival all spots were full (with fuel cars..)

This property is dated and feels cheap. Furnishings are cheap and in poor repair. Air conditioning (which was needed) is completely ineffective. The room has one tiny window and no through ventilation. Think very stuffy. Pillows seem to be wrapped in plastic and are uncomfortably overstuffed. Towels are thin, small and worn. There is nothing special about this hotel. It seemed a poor value for the price.

The Scandic, compared to its competitors, is way out of touch. Every competitor (Clairion, Elite, etc.) provides basic, complementary toiletries for forgotten toothpaste/deodorant, etc. Scandic does not; you must pay for them, and they are overpriced. It's the small things that make you stand out. And Scandic stands out in the wrong way.

The hotel is just excellent for its location. Breakfast is simple... The worst thing is the bed...the room has two single beds in most of the rooms And the bed is not comfortable at all I don't know what the problem is, and why the insistence on the principle of two single beds instead of the double bed or the king size bed Cleaning must be requested a day in advance Only the site is deserve to take this hotel About me I will not be repeated, God willing

We stayed here the first time and I have to say it's quite great. The rooms are a bit outdated, but its manageable. They were a bit dirty when we arrived, but a quick wipe fixed it. The hotel is right next to the centralstation and multiple bus and tram stops making it super easy to use public transportation. There's one mall and a lot of other shops within walking radius. The included breakfast has a great selection of international as well as Swedish breakfast treats, aswell as vegetarian/vegan, lactose free and gluten-free options, and is served from 6.30-9.30 AM. Overall it's a great hotel!

Relatively big hotel right across the central train and bus station, and easily accessible to most destinations in Gothenburg by foot from here.

Well, I was going to give 4 stars but then I read some other comments where one guest whines about the elevator, that the kids were playing so he waited very long but there are three other elevators one can use. Anyway, I decided to raise to 5 stars because the location of the hotel is very central and good. The Relax section with sauna and a Jacuzzi on the top floor is superb. Some rooms are renovated with floor heating in the bathroom, some are not renovated yet. I was very happy that there were also plant-based foods for breakfast. And last bit not least the play room for kids is very good and gives a moment of relax for parents. This was not the first time I stayed here and sure not the last. Have a good one.

Truly pleasant spot to remain at. Helpful to reach from the train station. Simply a brief walk. Cordial staff and tidy up rooms. Additionally extremely open rooms as well. Each room has a view. Either a couple out in the city or inside to the anteroom. Didn't anticipate that. Would remain there once more

The food there was AMAZING and the rooms were very fancy (in my opinion) and the beds were very comfortable And the elevators gave a good view of the hotel!😃

I asked while checking in if I could use the parking and I was told that it was full and that they do not accept bookings for the parking, so I had to use a nearby mall parking. Every day I was asking the same question to get the same answer. However, one day I was lucky enough when I got out of the hotel, to find a parking spot right outside to the rear of the hotel and pay at the machine. While getting in the lift, took me to the parking (apparently someone had called it before I press my floor number) and I thought to have a look around to see if they have empty parking spots and I realized that they had at least 6 of them! It looks like they do accept bookings however it looks like they discriminate somehow their customers or they may keep them for the locals only? It is a good workout to walk to the shopping mall which is 800m away to get your car from its parking, however it is not ideal when it is raining... Moreover, they said they do not enter the rooms due to COVID measures. I was more than happy with this, since I wouldn't like anybody to enter my room after having enter someone else's room. AGAIN this was a lie as I found out that they do get in the rooms as all my empty bottles all of a sudden disappeared! I have been using for many years Scandic Crown, but after these incidents I will only consider staying there again only if there is not another option.

How is it possible to have a hotell bar that closes at 10 pm? Went down to have evening drink and the bar was closed.... :(

Some hint that the temperature control was only for the air condition and that there were radiators (which were on) would have been great before lying awake in a too warm room.

Prime Location ! The most sights can be reached quite easy. The guy at the reception is very friendly and helpful. Delicious and various breakfast. High quality (bio!)of the food. Very tidy rooms. Things to improve: - the matresses could be a little bit harder - the rules oft the spa. You can book slots for one hour. The group before us(drunken englishmen with beercans)extended their slot on their own, so that the Whirlpool was blocked. Some controlls would be good for a good wellness effect.

Loved this hotel! Just a few meters away from the train station, and about a 20 minutes walk to Liseberg! Gorgeous reception, and modern looking hotel rooms! Had a wonderful stay, and will absolutely come back! :)

Good hotel, nothing spectacular but it does everything well! Rooms nice and clean, breakfast was standard intercontinental, no complaints.

Central hotel 5 min walk from central station but not all double rooms are the same. There are some that don’t have a window on the street but in the interior part of the building. The bed was uncomfortable. The lobby is spacious with a playground for kids which is very nice. The room was clean. The personal was very polite. The breakfast was good with a good variety.

Large hotel in central Gothenburg, Freindly staff. Slow restaurant service with very basic food, not recommended. Hotel was full with families with young children who used the lifts as playthings. We had an 8th floor room. We were unable to use the lifts alone as per covid recommendation due to mass of people and small children with up to a 15minute wait for a lift. Crowding possibly due to proximity of Lisaberg fairground and Gothenburg football arena. Parking garage was good but we were lucky to get a place despite being told at booking there was no need to book a place We booked a superior room and were given what they called a small suite. This was basically a larger room with a double sofa. Bed was max 160cm wide. We checked in after 15:00 to find a leaflet in the room which informed that if you wanted your room cleaned you must inform reception before 11:00. The rooms are cleaned between guests. Breakfast was a circus, two breakfast areas one of which was allocated, as was choice of time due to covid regulations. Unfortunately there was no control of who used the area we were allocated and the area was full. We went to the other area which we were told we couldn't use. We did use it after a heated discussion! Tables were available but were not being cleared so we had to clear them ourselves. This was the last sitting and food quantities were not being replenished. Several items were depleted. THIS IS ONE HOTEL THAT WE WILL NOT BE USING AGAIN

The hotell is very nice. It is placed very near the city center and the public transport. It has nice rooms, but without a minibar (minifridge). The bar seems nice and the breakfast is very good. The Relax room has also a Sauna and a Jacuzzi.

It was Just okay because The breakfast was good but there were no facilities as well as parking was not as good as expected compare to the price.you need to pay separately for charging your car and the price is more than if you find somewhere outside to park your car. The price is high despite the fact that there is no facilities. The room is different than the one that I have seen and booked in the pictures

Although some rooms have been modernised to some extent the hotel is unfortunately a bit worn, it is obvious on the scratched wooden floors and in the bathrooms. No shower wall making the whole bathroom floor wet when showering (there is a rather insufficient shower curtain). Some rooms have windows facing inside this offering no privacy if one wants any daylight, generally loud as sounds from all directions can be heard in the room. The breakfast is on the plus side offering the full Scandic breakfast with various good options, location wise also quite good!

  • 3/5 Markus A. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms were not the best. Felt like an old standard, and our bathroom had a displeasing gunk around the shower wall that didn't even go away after our requested wash. The hotel has an excellent location. Easy to find, and close to a lot of things. Our main purpose was Liseberg, and this was a nice location between Liseberg and the rest of the city.

Lovely hotel. We felt welcome and all the employees were nice and really happy. I also felt good when everyone was in a good mood. I recommend this place.

Bad experience for being in a Swedish hotel. Cant borrow bicycles cause all the staffs were sent to a conference, some pp at the lobby to do simple work. No room cleaning, as you request, they blamed you for not asking. Ble. Sad for the service of such a big hotel.

Stayed for business trip here. Central location, great price and has Cozy rooms. Had good sleep. Very good breakfast. However the staff at reception was rude (at least the one who attended me on arrival). Same experience was with my colleagues at reception.

    1) Great breakfast with varieties of food and drink. 2) Friendly staffs 3) Fast check in and check out 4) Comfortable stay with hairdryer, toiletries, towels provided. 5) Roughly 8 to 10mins from Goteborg Central Station with Coop just beside of the hotel.

Initially, we were disappointed by this hotel, but it grew on us! The hotel is in an excellent location, being a stone's throw from Gothenburg Central Station (exit from the side of the station, not the front to ensure the shortest walk!) The staff at reception were very pleasant and always able to answer any questions we had.Unfortunately, the whole building as an eighties vibe about it and needs to be refurbished. Our family room was adequate, but was quite small (with flip down bunk beds) and the adjoining bathroom looked 'tired' (but it was clean). The hard wood flooring felt as though it had not been swept. In keeping with hotel trends, daily cleaning of the room had to be requested - this, so they say, is being environmentally friendly, but I can't help feeling it is done to save the hotel companies money!(Note: have a look at how Premier Inn do this - they offer a free drink at their bar if you do not have you room cleaned). There was a safe in the room, but no tea making facilities (we had to ask for kettle) But...outside of the room, the facilities were excellent. The lounge was enormous and there was a large selection of board games. There was also a games room, which had a couple of mini table tennis tables in as well as table football. There was also a gym. Residents could book bicycles (free for two hours) and there was a free secure luggage room. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice of foods available.Three stars for the room but five for the remainder of the hotel. For a much more modern Scandic hotel, try the new Hotel Europe (but it is not in such a good location)
