Initially,
we
were
disappointed
by
this
hotel,
but
it
grew
on
us!
The
hotel
is
in
an
excellent
location,
being
a
stone's
throw
from
Gothenburg
Central
Station
(exit
from
the
side
of
the
station,
not
the
front
to
ensure
the
shortest
walk!)
The
staff
at
reception
were
very
pleasant
and
always
able
to
answer
any
questions
we
had.Unfortunately,
the
whole
building
as
an
eighties
vibe
about
it
and
needs
to
be
refurbished.
Our
family
room
was
adequate,
but
was
quite
small
(with
flip
down
bunk
beds)
and
the
adjoining
bathroom
looked
'tired'
(but
it
was
clean).
The
hard
wood
flooring
felt
as
though
it
had
not
been
swept.
In
keeping
with
hotel
trends,
daily
cleaning
of
the
room
had
to
be
requested
-
this,
so
they
say,
is
being
environmentally
friendly,
but
I
can't
help
feeling
it
is
done
to
save
the
hotel
companies
money!(Note:
have
a
look
at
how
Premier
Inn
do
this
-
they
offer
a
free
drink
at
their
bar
if
you
do
not
have
you
room
cleaned).
There
was
a
safe
in
the
room,
but
no
tea
making
facilities
(we
had
to
ask
for
kettle)
But...outside
of
the
room,
the
facilities
were
excellent.
The
lounge
was
enormous
and
there
was
a
large
selection
of
board
games.There
was
also
a
games
room,
which
had
a
couple
of
mini
table
tennis
tables
in
as
well
as
table
football.There
was
also
a
gym.
Residents
could
book
bicycles
(free
for
two
hours)
and
there
was
a
free
secure
luggage
room.
Breakfast
was
excellent,
with
a
wide
choice
of
foods
available.Three
stars
for
the
room
but
five
for
the
remainder
of
the
hotel.For
a
much
more
modern
Scandic
hotel,
try
the
new
Hotel
Europe
(but
it
is
not
in
such
a
good
location)
