This
place
was
recommended
by
a
German
friend
who
was
born
and
raised
in
the
US
like
me,
but
he
spoke
fluent
German
and
visited
Germany
several
times
a
year.
He
said
the
food
was
great
and
it
would
be
a
chance
to
experience
authentic
German
food.
He
was
right.
Delicious
food
and
authentic
atmosphere.
5
stars
for
food
and
authenticity,
but
downgraded
to
3
stars
for
attitude.
The
staff
sat
me
and
my
traveling
companion
even
though
we
didn't
have
a
reservation
on
a
Sunday
evening.
We
were
almost
turned
away.
The
male
waiter
took
our
order
and
looked
at
me
like
I
had
two
heads
when
I
ordered
coffee
instead
of
beer.
He
seemed
disappointed
when
my
friend
ordered
sparkling
water.
We
had
just
had
a
full
and
tiring
day
driving
from
Munich
to
Garmisch
and
beyond,
and
I
needed
to
be
alert
to
make
it
through
the
dark
winding
streets
of
Munich
and
find
a
scarce
parking
space
near
the
hotel.
The
waiter
chatted
a
lot
with
a
local
German
couple
next
to
us,
but
ignored
us
for
the
most
part.
I
didn't
mind
because
he
didn't
seem
to
know
much
English,
and
I
don't
know
much
German.
After
we
paid
and
left
a
20%
tip,
my
friend
overheard
him
laughing
with
the
German
couple
and
saying
something
about
the
"Americans."
Something
like,
"...so
typical
not
to
order
beer
like
everyone
else...at
least
I
got
a
tip."
He
and
the
couple
then
laughed.
My
friend's
father
was
German,
so
she
picks
up
more
German
words
than
me.
So,
bottom
line
is,
Americans
beware
at
this
restaurant.
You
could
find
a
bad
attitude
towards
you,
so
order
beer,
make
a
reservation,
and
preferably
take
someone
with
you
fluent
in
German.
For
the
record,
and
in
case
the
waiter
reads
this
review,
under
normal
circumstances
I
would
have
ordered
beer!
Cheers...
