We ate and slept here a couple of weeks ago when we first flew in. It was such a great experience that we decided to spend another evening and night at this place before our early flight. The location, food, views, service and ambiance is fabulous! We visited several venues in Dubrovnik, Split and other towns, but nowhere else did we actually get such a complete local experience. Starting with the fabulous, tasty menu items such as grilled squid, fresh fish, cevapcici, raznjici, pizza...then welcoming staff and the laid back athmosphere, view of the beach and the aroma of the Adriatic sea under our window, the Baletna Skola experience will be forever etched in our minds. We did arrive late with no reservation so we waited a bit, but that is understandable since tha place is so popular. The prices are suprisingly low when compaired with others in the area, while the quality is superb. I asked about that...aparently the owners keep the prices as low as possible so everyone can afford to dine here during the entire year. No wonder this place is so pupular among the locals and outoftowners alike! Thank you Baletna Skola hotel and restaurant staff! We can't wait for our return visit next summer!

It was right up the street so we thought we would give it a try. I had a terrific steak and fries, my gal had a wonderful salmon pasta. Both were outstanding. Also worth noting, the service was wonderful too. 07.19.23 update This is our fourth time visiting Split, so we came up to the beach and of course had to visit one of our favorite restaurants. The food, service, prices all, still excellent!

Illallinen: Maittavaa ruokaa, reilun kokoiset annokset ja mukava palvelu. Grillattu kanafilee ranskalaisilla ja vihreällä salaatilla oli onnistunut perusannos. Talon valkoviini kylkeen, niin kyllä maistui. Hinta-laatusuhteeltaan oikein hyvä ravintola ja mukavalla paikalla meren rannassa, halutessaan voi olla varjossa. Toisen ruokailijan tilaama pizza oli myös maittava. Ruoat tulivat yllättävän nopeasti, vaikka ravintola oli täynnä paikallisia. Illallinen eri päivänä: Söimme katkarapupastan ja pihvin, sekä jälkiruoaksi crepes with chocolate & icecream. Molemmat ruoat olivat maistuvia ja jälkiruoka oli hyvää, sopivan kokoinen makea annos. Palvelu oli laadukasta. Ainoa miinus oli se, että tilattu viskilasillinen tuotiin kysymättä jäiden kanssa, mutta onneksi ne sai tietysti pois lasista. Lounas eri päivänä: Söimme kanasalaatin + talon pizzaleipää ja drutti di mare lasagnen. Molemmat annokset olivat maittavia. Lounaalla palvelu oli kiireistä, eikä läheskään niin hyvää kuin illallisella.

Willkommen in Split . Sehr nette Atmosphäre , guter und schneller Sevice , gute lage mit guten Park Möglichkeiten. Aus dem Innenbereich hat man eine gute Aussicht auf's Meer. Preise sind legitim.

Nettes Restaurant mit vielen Einheimischen direkt am Strand. Rustikales Ambiente. Parkplatz vor dem Restaurant. Preise-/Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Essen war köstlich, Personal kinderfreundlich. Sehr empfehlenswert. Trotz schlechtem Wetter gut besucht, Reservierungen sinnvoll.

Food was perfect. Service was perfect. But You have to know two things. If You do not have a booking for the table You can wait for fhe table even one hour, and then You will wait for the food a little less than an hour. But it is worth waiting for sure. I fully recomend this restaurant... !!!!

Very nice and friendly service staff. Well orginized in my opinion. We were group of about 7 people (there were also larger groups as our) nevertheless it last only about 30 minutes that meals were served. The same for our drinks, we did not wait to long if we wanted to order new ones. The prices are acceptable. If you like to eat fresh fish, it is a good place.

We ordered a meat mixed plate and the three of us had an amazing lunch, good money value for the offer

Food used to be better. In particular the fish soup and octopus salad is no longer recommended. Short on staff so longer waiting times. Evenings most tables are booked during the tourist season.

Ich kann die ganzen super positiven Bewertungen leider nicht nachvollziehen. Wir bestellten jeweils eine Suppe und als Hauptspeise die Grillplatte für zwei. Die Suppen waren ganz Okay. Die Hauptspeise war ein Witz. Man bekommt nur Blitva dazu und alles andere kostet extra. Leider ist das Essen sehr ölig gewesen und Blitva "stand unter Wasser". Alles in allem war das Essen nicht das bezahlte Geld wert. Der Service war auch nicht besonders, die leeren Teller standen eine Ewigkeit auf dem Tisch. Die Kellner war zu beschäftigt zu tratschen und zu rauchen.

Wir waren mit unserer Tochter essen und was soll ich sagen… Location super, Service top und freundlich, Portionen riesig und Essen war super lecker! Es war alles voll und trotzdem haben wir nicht lang auf unser Essen warten müssen. Es war großartig!

Wir waren zu 4 und ein Kleinkind. Ohne Reservierung geht so gut wie nichts. Wir haben gerade so ein Tisch an der Küche bekommen und es gibt teilweise unterschiedliche unterschiedliche Behandlung der Gäste. Essen war OK bis auf die Pommes, das Fett roch Alt. Es ist alles auf Schnellabfertigung getrimmt. Da wir den Platz an der Küche hatten, sahen wir das in der Küche geraucht wurde und unmittelbar Gemüse angefasst wurde. Auch wird von Gästen geraucht nach dem Essen und nicht auf andere essende Gäste Rücksicht genommen.

Hands down one of the best grill restaurant in Croazia, and also the cheapest. The meat is great and well cooked. I’m not a huge fan of the service, the staff is quite rude. I get that they are not obliged to speak English but getting ignored is annoying anywhere in the world.

the place is very suggestive and the food is okay. the restaurant is on a very nice spot on the beach and it's wonderful to eat there at night with all of the lights, decorations and the cats *^* as a vegetarian with a zucchini intolerance i didn't have much choice, but the waiter helped me by suggesting a vegetarian pizza, which is okay (as an italian, i think it's not that bad). i also had a mushroom omelette as an entrée which i didn't expect to be that big. on the other hand, the moscow mule was not served in the typical copper cup. my family also had the mixed grill and it was very much appreciated + the portions were, again, a lot! they also had the tagliatelle with seafood - mussels and scampi - and they totally recommend it. i don't have a picture of it, but they even had the grilled squid and they were okay. on top of that, the service was attentive and we really had a nice time there. overall, it's not a fancy place where you can find something extremely special, but that's what we liked: it is a casual restaurant with a nice menu and a mesmerising view.

The food is delicious! Every dish I order is delicious and made with fresh, local ingredients. A pleasant and relaxing seaside restaurant. Congratulations to the chef and the team. You always make a stay in Dalmatia more enjoyable, which is why I rate them 5 stars.

What an awful experience. We waited 20 minutes to be asked for food or drinks order, amd after ordering food we were 1 hour and 20 minutes before receiving anything at our table, yet others around us were served before us having arrived later. It seems if you are not local at this place you will not get good service, I highly discourage you to avoid eating here. It was a very hot afternoon and we were not offered to order more drinks, but we eventually flagged someone down to order more and it took 20 minuted for those drinks to arrive. The food was nice, but fresh seafood not worth the price charged. Honestly we were so fed up when the food arrived we had already had enough and didn't enjoy, especially as we had no drinks to have with our food. There were often multiple staff and what appeared to be the owners sat around and doing nothing whilst 2 of the staff did all the work. No one was particularly friendly and we felt more like we were in the way than valued guests. I urge you to avoid this restaurant.

First of all was difficult to make a reservation, menu is super big, a lot of different dishes and some of them difficult to understand, waiter was always trying to run away faster and forgot few of our orders. Food was ok, but we expected much more. Also table was not clean and we had to do it ourselves. Waiter saw us doing that and just ignored and passed by. We would not come back.

Beautiful scenic restaurant with authentic staff and great food. Dogs officially not allowed on the premises, but you can negotiate like anything in Balkans. Mine was supposed to say "Good day" to enter, but was allowed in anyway after two failed attempts 😁

We stayed at Hotel Baletna Skola and had dinner at this convenient restaurant. Short walk from the hotel, beach and shared pathway. A very busy restaurant, we had dinner early but might need to book for later in the night. Good service, nice food and atmosphere.

Tasty food.Waitres was so helpful.We came with small boy who made a mess around baby table,she was happy to clean afterwards.
