😐 WATCH OUT we were told to get parking tickets and leaded into scam at an ATM, lost our bank passes... The people doing it looked like officals, wore badges. When approached I advise you to get out of the place asap! People often mention view, Elizabeth, lighthouse,

Beautiful lighthouse. Not too many steps, although quite steep. Beautiful view from the top of surrounding areas. Be sure to crawl through metal door at the top to see the beautiful view from outside.

First of all: Thanks to Ada Knol, see below! Attention: almost robbed!! We lead to a parking lot yesterday Sunday at about 14.00 o'clock! There was a man in black pants with a $2 baseball cap "Security". He told us that it was Sunday and that we could park here for free. But we had to get a voucher, just around the corner at an ATM! At that moment a car with four black people drove beside us! He told them the same thing! We should just follow them and then get a ticket. The car drove slowly in front of us and turned into a side street! I stepped on the gas and went straight ahead and never came back! That was close! I don't want to know what would have happened to us if we had followed that car! Watch out, don't trust anyone! Remember, you are in a developing country with a high crime rate! Trust your gut. God bless you!

An amazing experience having the privilege of climbing up to the top of this lighthouse. Views of the city are breathtaking. Climb up and down is a bit nervy as it is a narrow vertical staircase on multi levels but well worth it. Sadly the great SA flag was not on when we visited. Also a mention for the individuals that keep the area and park clean, not a piece of litter was found.

The view from the top is worth the climbing, there is just so much to view from the seaside docks then inland, I enjoyed every minute.

Great place to visit when in Port Elizabeth. The view is stunning. A great bit of history that you will appreciate which is portrayed through art.

At the heart of old town Port Elizabeth, a monument that speaks of love for almost 200 years. A landmark of Port Elizabeth and its history.

It's quite a narrow journey going up but totally worth it once you get to the top and view Gqberha from that point. The place is also packed with mosaics and sculptures that are accompanied by some historical facts.

The story of Donkin is quite fascinating. Her husband built the pyramid structure in remembrance of her. The lighthouse was a mission to climb as the steps were small and narrow but I got to the top
