There aren’t many restaurants we visited without reviewing on the internet before arriving. This one was one of the places we just walked in attracted by the outer looks. It was actually great here. The service was fairly nice as well. The food was good as it looks. Oh yeah, the interior of this place is really cute with all the wine bottles displayed 🍷

Location: One of the place with bars and restaurant in the city - close to the cathedral Budget: Can be around 30-35 for two if you share a plates and drinks - Possibly less Service - Great as they recommend things based on their knowledge Crowd - Tourists and Locals Waiting time is quite low as it is a popular place Impress by the place and the service. The waiter know their jobs and have really good advices on what food to take. I believe depending on how much you eat a shared platter is good for two people. Their vermouth is home made and suave. I will recommend to go there if you visit the place. And I recommend the smoked fish platter!

This is Granada! Excellent tapas, great vermouth, the place is often crowded, but definitely worth a visit, I liked croquettes, a tartlet with fish cheese, bacon. It is definitely nice to order one of their hot plates for more people.

Food here is amazing!! Wowowow. Service is fast and friendly. Atmosphere is very fun. Highly recommended. My fave dish is their take on bacon - really juicy, tender and succulent.

I was really excited to try the tapas here after reading the great reviews but had a very disappointing experience. We wanted to sit outside as we had our dog but no tables were available, they allowed us inside (but not in the main area), all good so far. Ordered a drink each and got one small free tapas of octopus something, it was ok. We then ordered bull tail stew, this was tasty. Ordered another drink and waited for the tapas to come…..it didn’t. We asked the waiter where the tapas was and he said you only get free tapas if you’re in the main bar area. Pretty sure he just couldn’t be bothered or didn’t like us as there was an elderly couple sat at the table next to us having drink after drink and tapas after tapas. When we left we saw many people sat at tables outside all happily eating tapas. There are much nicer places with lovely staff all over Granada so I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time with this one.

NOT WORTH IT Cod over salted, white wine with debris, seafood salad ruined with sunflower oil. Grilled loins were good, but overpriced. We felt much more welcomed in another restaurant nearby, where we received three super delicious tapas with our drinks and shots of a local liquor after a dinner. Definitely overhyped, waited in a queue for an average place.

Came back twice during our stay in Granada because of the quality of the tapas and good service. It really feels like the staff enjoy working there, even if it's crowded. Free tapas with every drink (have a vermouth!) and great dishes on the menu as well.

very good very fast very best. and the terrace is heated (it's winter now). my friend Miguel enjoyed the food as you can see. we almost died driving on the wrong road earlier, but then we got the free tapas (arroz) and it all seemed worth it.

A pretty crowded “bodega” place. We stopped by to have a sangria. They gave us a free tapa each, but the type of tapa was non-negotiable and the ensaladita rusa wasn’t very good. Still, it was cheap and made for a nice stop on our sangria + tapas tour.

Their warm tapas plate is a nice selection of must try things. Very good croquetas. Their house salad was also amazing with sardines, tuna and asparagus. Also a nice selection of fine wines and beers. The waiter was friendly and told us not to order too much food because it would be too much for the two of us. He was right. 😄

We visited this place during our first night in Granada and ordered aubergine with cheese and oxtail (first picture). We enjoyed our dinner and this is why we went back on our last night in town. This time though experience was not very good since we ordered a mixed plate of tapas (second picture) and the food was not fresh and mediocre to say the least. Most items on the plate had no taste which was disappointing. On the positive side, service was overall good.

Fab place, fab food! I had a (huge) plate of warm assortiment which would have been enough for 2 people. All the meats were delicious and tender, the croquettes hot and tasty, a good variety of vegetables... and service was quick and friendly. I arrived at 4pm so there were tables available but it had been packed with locals, young and old. The bulls head on the wall and the hams hanging around the bar made it a very interesting place to go!

Very lively and crowded bar. The waiters make a lot of noise but that gives a nice ‘show’. Nice tapas dishes and good home made croquettes. We will be back for more.

Super friendly and fun service. Very fast. Loved the ambience of the place especially at the outdoor terrace. Loved that I could ask for the daily tapas that I could get complimentary with my drinks. Good white wine selection by the glass. Delicious tapas (rice with beef, veal with potatoes, ribs with tomato, and the ox tail “croqueta). A must in Granada!

(Translated by Google) Local with tradition, located at the heart of the traffic of the multitude of tourists from these parts. Difficult to find a site unless you leave early. Attentive, friendly attention ... fast in excess given the need to care for so many people. We tried salmorejo, well; Little ribs, maybe a little scarce and a table of cheese and Iberian ham that I doubt is such. Although overall it was acceptable, maybe I expected more from the place.

Prices well although there are cheaper places. We visited him on a Friday around one o'clock in the afternoon and everything was very quiet. I do not know how about lunch ... (Original) Un lugar con solera en Granada? Este es uno de ellos. El lugar tiene encanto y merece la pena visitarlo. Respecto a las tapas, eran buenas aunque no abundantes. (Translated by Google) They had recommended this place and what a disappointment !!! Regarding the price-quality ratio leaves much to be desired. The waiters seem to be doing you a favor when they give you a table in addition to ordering a plate from the menu and charging you another without notice. Bad experience. (Original) Nos habían recomendado este sitio y qué decepción!!! En cuanto a la relación calidad precio deja mucho que desear. One of the best Iberian pork steak I’ve ever had. A truly unexpected but great authentic find. Check out the barrels of drinks! A must try when in Granada.

Don't understand good ratings. Food was average at best. Drinks same. Service hectic. Policy of who receives free Tapas with a drink and who doesn't was either random or discriminatory.

  • 5/5 Agne S. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent tapas - their crocetas are superb and really big. Other food is very good too. And the atmosphere is busy and very traditional-tavern. It's one of the places you get a tapa when you order a drink.

We went there three times, first two times didn't get in due to too long of a line. The third time we went at 11:45 pm, which is almost closing time. We still waited 10 mins to get a seat. We ordered a tab beer and a house red, both are tasty. The red is really fruity. The tapa came with them are the same, salsa with octopus, which is good as well. But I was expecting try different tapas. Then we ordered oxtail soup, which is a main dish. It is ok, the oxtail meat is still attach to the bone so the texture is still there. Hard to eat with forks and knifes. I felt like I cook oxtail stew just like that (maybe will cook a bit longer so the meat fell off the bone). The highlight is the potatoes within the stew. We also ordered a small cheese platter. It came with almonds. It is again good soft cheese especially paired with almonds and wine. Then is the salmon avacado "sandwich". That is definitely the best of the whole meal. We also had a Croquette, which is also good but not different from other places. The overall cost is 35 euro for all that. We did discover that all foods around that area, not on the main street just in the ally, are all very well priced. Much cheaper than I expected. So overall it is a great place to eat/drink different wines, if you don't mind wait that long.

Fantastic bar with a tapas given with each drink. Great atmosphere and recommend taking a Cana at the bar where you can see how freneticly the staff work. Well worth visiting to get a proper taste of Granada. Will be back for a platter of cheese next time.

Fresh fish of the day and absolutely delicious ox tail will take your palate to another level. We have ate many cod in our life but enjoying the cod dish here is an unforgettable and eye opening experience. I can never eat frozen cod in the UK anymore after this amazing taste. If you are in town. This is the spot you gotta hit

Spot of the locals, typical spanish food and drinks, tourists are welcome, but visibly in the minority. The various regional dishes are honest an of good quality, not a single compromise for foreign guests. Spend your lunch in an absolute authentic atmosphere instead of in one the many random touristic fast food places. I'm always happy to find those last resisting locations in popular cities which save the regional culture. Well done here!

These were the best tapas we had in Granada! We arrived for lunch and were promptly seated. Indoor and outdoor is available if weather permits but outdoor might not be open until a later time. The warm sampler plate was the move here. It's a great assortment of tapas helping you appreciate their dishes. The coquettes were our favorite, and we could have skipped the gazpacho.

We loved it. Going by the masses of natives inside and the queue waiting to be seated we took it as a safe bet this would be good. And we weren't disappointed. Food was excellent, wine recommendation amazing, especially for the price. We had 3 starters and a fish platter for 2 accompanied by tons of waters and a bottle of wonderful red and we're positively surprised by a pricetag @100€. We're only in Granada for 2.5 days but we'll definitely be back before leaving.

I visited here twice. It was great first time; dishes are great and service was really good. His recommendation was very proper. but not so good for second time. Wrong drink was served, cod fish wasn’t good. Waiters look so tired and indifferent. Still good enough to have nice food.

Been in Granada 3 days so far and been to this place twice each day. We stood at the bar the whole time. The noise is top level from staff and punters. Buy a drink get a tapas. The whole place is buzzing. The way the staff are are great slapping your tapas down throwing you bill at you. I would highly recommend this place just for the atmosphere

  • 5/5 Isaac B. 1 year ago on Google
Very traditional. I was the only English person there (December). The food was amazing. It was very busy. Everybody wanted to go there. The toilets were disgusting though and very small. I'm glad I'm not a woman. The waiters were really jolly and helpful.

We checked online for the best places for Tapas, and this place came up. We followed directions through the quietish streets, and then turned a corner to find this this place so busy that they had a queue for tables. We had the mixed tapas and the Alhambra beer which was excellent. I also had a plate of Anchovies in vimegar with fried potatoes. It was absolutely fantastic The atmosphere was fantastic and the waiters were very friendly though incredibly busy. The place to go for Tapas in Granada!

Quality of food and service was excellent. Probably best croquettes we’ve had in Spain so far. Warning, food is not tapas sized - it is full meal size.

  • 3/5 George L. 9 months ago on Google
Given the restaurant’s history and recommendations, we expected more. While the pulpo tasted great, the vermouth was watered down and the tapas that came with our drinks were much smaller and simpler than most restaurants in the area. We didn’t have a bad experience, but sadly this did not live up to its popularity and our expectations.

  • 5/5 Michael K. 3 months ago on Google New
Quintessentially Spanish eatery with local/regional specialties as well as good wines by the glass. Service is friendly, helpful. Food is delicious. The fresh cod in tomato sauce was particularly memorable. Prices are very good given the quality and location. Very busy at peak times--come at non-traditional mealtimes (for Spain) to be sure of getting a table without a wait.

1/ the dining room was splitted in 2 parts : tourists and locals 2/ the staff was more sales than service oriented (ex: they explained that the gaspacho was missing and replaced by the salmojero : a 4,5€ starter was turned into a 9€ starter) 3/ the dishes that we got did not match with what we asked from the menu (ex: fried vegetables with tempura was finally a basic ratatouille, the cheese was not on the delicatessen plate ...etc) Stay away from this place ! From my experience it's a tourist trap. Sangria is OK, but when it comes to food and especially tapas - it's not much and quite overpriced. Similarly named place around the corner offers much more - for much less. We even were charged 5x for bread and there was not much of it. I will surely avoid it for the future.

Never more (Original) Desastre de lugar, ruidoso, falta de atención de los camareros, media hora en la barra delante justo de donde ponen las tapas y ni caso. Nunca mais

The first negative bar experience in Spain for the entire week we are here. Actually that was the only place in entire Granada where we did not receive tapas with our drinks, so we had to order them separately. Small portions even for tapas. Slow and unpolite service. Would definitely never come back. Place around the corner with simillar name seems much better.

(Translated by Google) Classic and cozy wine cellar in the heart of Granada. You will always find it very busy. His ribs in sauce and scrambled eggs are two dishes that I recommend. If you don't mind standing up, it's worth tasting your dishes. Moderate quality / price. Calidad/ precio moderado.
