Hermit's Rest point is at the end of the Hermit's road and the Last point of the Park on the west end. One can reach hear by the free shuttle service offered by the park (Red route)or Walk on the paved path from Pima point. This point has a beautiful architectural stone marvel building built in 1914 with a giant fireplace which now serves as a snack bar and Gift shop. There are 8 overlooks along the canyon rim route before you reach Hermits rest. There is shuttle service every 10-15mins along these points. A Must visit if you are visiting South Grand Canyon National Park.

I had a fantastic time here at hermits rest! I stopped in the gift shop and took pictures. I took the park bus and I’m happy I did the people on the bus had plenty of information about the canyon and location to take pictures. Get your water bottle filled out in the bright angel trailhead.

Great historical place at the end of the bus loop. Also has a great view and restroom. Plus, they sell chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches at the gift shop.

Last stop on the bus route. Little gift shop. Outhouse toilets. Beginning of a trail going down into the canyon. Great views of the area. No food really to buy. You have to get back on the bus to go back. Neat old rest stop from the 1900s. Might as well check it out if you're in the park. The Rock work on the fireplace is very cool.

Great but not the best view....walk the rim trail for the best views. There's restrooms, bus stop, souvenir shop.on site Many take the bus there and hike back, we did the opposite walking from the village to hermits, about 4hrs, and just shy of 10miles stopping at every view spot....lots of bus stops in between....if long walks are not your thing....bus is free

An amazing hike described by one of the locals as "punishing." He wasn't wrong. But you can't beat 8 miles on the trail and barely another soul the whole time.

Hermit creek trail from Rim to Hermit Rapids on Colorado River is truly “Beauty and the Beast” overnight trip: desert flowers quenched by class 8 rapids + brutal 10 miler hike back to the Rim. If you are in good shape, then make the Backcountry application and have a great trip.

Amazing view point, they also have a gift shop where you can buy water and snacks and some nice souvenirs.

The very last stop of the red route, this is a very nice and quaint place to stop at and take in the nature. This place has pocket friendly gifts (for example, I got a $29 sweatshirt) and cool drinks to make sure you're hydrated in the heat. Saw some baby elks here and that made my day as well.

A must in the canyon where you will find different views and expensive services. It’s a bit far away but the red lines is very efficient. You will see the canyon from a very different perspective and you can walk around the area. The only downside is the stores and prices can be a bit abusive since they are in middle of nowhere.

A secluded area of the canyon which is accessible only by shuttle, bicycle, or hiking. Gift shop, water filling station, and restrooms are there also. There are tame squirrels running about and they ask you not to feed them, but many can't resist.

Hiked from the village to hermits rest and took the bus back. Well worth the effort. Hardly any people around in mid November.

We were actually disappointed at this place. We didn't know it was turned into a store. We thought it was going to be more of a homesite. But of course the views were amazing of the canyon

Great stop at the end of the bus route. Great stop for a photo with the family. Also, great to get some shade and a snack. Definitely stop inside!
