Really cool spot with a beautiful view. Had no idea that this existed but Vincent from the geology museum recommend it. Our gps had us going in circles but so glad we finally found it. It has an incredible view and a really interesting history of the Kolb Brothers, a huge highlight of the trip! Don’t forget to get the camera stamp for your national park passport when you visit!

Wonderful little museum about the Kolb Brothers and their adventures in the canyon. Overlooks the historic Bright Angel Trail. Don't miss the short film about the brothers in the projection room. Friendly employees in the little store here too.

worth the hype. the line to get into the south ridge side of the park was Very long, took about 30 minutes for us to get through so be prepared for that. when we went the far right lane was consistently way faster so word to the wise stay in that lane. the rangers are knowledgeable and the bus routes were very convenient

Great historic landmark with several narrative exhibits, paintings, photos. Kolb brothers were amazing no doubt, especially Emery. Dropped two stars for the rude customer service rendered by the older female cashier working on 4/24/21 in the early afternoon. Very curt & dismissive to any inquiries about our purchase, but still had the stiff audacity to ask for a donation for the Kolb conservatory fund. I’m always good for a fair-sized donation especially as we enjoyed the place...right up until then. I suggest a better customer service representative at that post or have Ms. Karen adjust her attitude. Neither I nor my young daughter appreciated it.

Kole Brothers studio and gift store is located at about he edge of Grand Canyon Village. There are picture windows overlooking the Canyon. There is a gift store with beautiful photographs and other items for sale as you enter the building. Downstairs there are several paintings. Several cameras and other paraphernalia used by Kolb brothers are also there. If you are visiting the Grand Canyon Village, it is worth stopping by to checking out this place.

The views from this prime location go without saying. The sad part is that many modern "environmentalists" would gladly cover large portions of the Grand Canyon rim with industrial wind turbines to fill their virtue-signaling buckets. They barely investigate the fossil fuel dependency and intermittency of this archaic pseudo-modern form of energy at its full, destructive scale. (Heard a conversation between several wind power hacks nearby).

We viewed from the South Rim and used the patk kennel to board our dog in order to take the shuttle bus to Hermits Rest. Drove out of the East entrance gate. Great views here as well. Currently showing the paintings at Kolb house.

The receptionist was very helpful. Small deco items were available at a reasonable price.

Cool stuff! There's a lot of history there, and they have a decent gift shop. They have stamps too, for all us passport folks.

How many times have we visited the studio and never knew you could tour the Kolb’s living quarters, their dark room and everything else? Well, a dozen or so. I guess today was our lucky day. There were just 4 of us and the young man running the place, Michael, asked if we wanted to go on a tour of the place. Holy smokes! Did that complete this winter visit, or what?! I have to admit that tour or not it’s an interesting story about these two brothers who didn’t get along so well but still accomplished some interesting things together. I recommend checking it out on the off-chance that you can get lucky, too.

Built 10 years before Mary Colter's nearby Lookout Studio, and it's great to contrast the two buildings. Lookout Studio is built in the traditional style of the time (very early 20th century), and the contrast shows how forward-thinking Mary Colter was.

Met our expectations. Very well organized with nice shuttle drivers. Do carefully plan before arriving to maximize your visit. We visited late September and there were fewer crowds and nice weather ideal for walking.

The Kolb Studio is one of the historic landmark buildings which can be found on the edge of the South Rim in the Grand Canyon Village. This is where the locally famous Kolb brothers made their trade as photographers during the early 20th century. This landmark was started in 1904 and expanded several times as Kolbs prospered and needed to expand their property. Today, you can visit the Kolb Studio and find a gift shop as well as a large exhibition room featuring artworks, artefacts and a bit of history about the brothers, their adventurous lives spent at the Grand Canyon. We really enjoyed the present exhibition and would gladly return to view again during future trips to the Grand Canyon. This makes a nice place to visit for 20-30 minutes if you have interest in art and history. Note: There are several other important historical landmarks nearby. You can combine your visit with the nearby Lookout Studio just a couple minutes further walk towards the Bright Angel Lodge, which is also worth stopping by for a visit.

This shop was located in the Grand Canyo Village and just out over the edge. In addition to an impressive view off of their store balconies, there was a nice assortment of merchandise AND an artist gallery of In Plein Air Paintings in a wide variety of styles. It was freezing by the time we arrived here and it was nice to warm up and view the art. Staff was helpful in helping us find the shuttle stop.

The Kolb Brothers were incredible people and amazing human beings. You will not regret visiting their studio in Grand Canyon.
