EDIT July 2023: The leasing company decided to tear down the adjacent forest and begin major construction of additional apartments. I do not enjoy being woken up by heavy machinery at 7am multiple times a week. This all occurs about 30 feet from our apartment, and was done with no prior warning to residents. As a resident of a unit heavily impacted by this construction, I no longer recommend these apartments. Overall nice place at a decent price. Can't beat how close it is to the grocery stores, restaurants, a great hobby store, and a 24/7 gym plus it's such a short drive/bike to downtown. Apartments are acceptable quality, I've certainly lived in worse. Staff are very sweet and try their best with the resources they have available. I've attributed any issues I've had there more to the parent company doing things out of their control. Maintenance is usually pretty fast. Parking is sometimes an issue, and I wish the passes were enforced more. In the end, I would recommend Lakeshore Flats and am happy here. More details: Overall the apartments are modern and roomy, with a lot of storage for a single family, though the room set up for the 2 bed is a little odd. The larger bedroom and bathroom are disconnected from each other, and the bathroom connected to a bedroom has a very uncomfortable, cramped shower. The smaller bedroom closet is a sin to architecture and would be improved with larger or more doors. It is the only thing I hate about this apartment. I could see this room/bathroom setup causing issues for roommates, as one would have the clearly superior option. We had major issues with noise and ended up moving units, which greatly improved the issue. Definitely a problem with building quality. Speaking of building quality, our previous unit suffered from mold issues in the smaller bedroom closet and balcony closet due to the placement of the ac/heating unit causing water leaks into the walls. Sefinitely something to look out for. Staff was very nice and helped us out with it as best they could. In-unit laundry is great, of course and the kitchen is pretty awesome. Love the counter space. The lighting is great and the island counter is perfect for counter-height chairs. The sink is nice and deep and has an extendable sprayer. Only problem is the dishwasher door in our unit catches on one of the cabinet handles and the oven. This was not a problem in the first unit we were in. The front office building amenities I'm mixed on. I LOVE the clubhouse area. It's a great hosting space and has been well kept. However, the gym, in my experience, has issues with being kept clean. It also hardly has enough equipment to call a gym. It has 2 treadmills, an elliptical that seems broken in some way, a weight bench, and weights. (It would be a pretty awesome studio if you practice dancing though!) If you want to have a proper gym, I'd recommend Power House in the parking lot next door. The mail room system also kinda sucks, as everyone's packages that don't fit in the mailboxes are thrown into it and there is no notification system. It was a madhouse around Christmas. Each unit is only given one key to access mail, which is frustrating. Each unit should be given as many mail and front office keys as there are adults living in the unit. So once again, overall, I'm happy with my apartment here and would recommend it.

I can say with absolute honesty that I did not enjoy the two years that I called Lakeshore Flats home. It is a loud, poorly built and overpriced complex. There were a lot of pros and cons to this place. Lakeshore Flats Cons: LOUD! There almost always dogs barking, people yelling or stomping and playing loud music. You can hear EVERYTHING outside and from other apartments in your unit. Management could use some improvement. In my experience, they have been very unhelpful, difficult to work with and did not seem to care about resident concerns. They took their sweet time addressing issues, including people not picking up after their dogs. The mail system is seriously messed up. Larger packages are often redirected to a closet in the office where anyone can grab anything. Management does not oversee the mail that goes to the office, nor do they inform tenants when something is delivered there. I once had a package in there for several months because I didn’t know it was there. They may have made some changes since I left, but it was incredibly frustrating to deal with when I lived there. Parking passes were issued and they enforced struct parking rules for a while, and then they stopped. Your garage may be on the other side of the complex. Buildings are not constructed very well, which factors into how loud the community is. The front door of my unit didn’t latch, and two of my doors were too big and crooked for the frame. My unit was very drafty which affected my heating and cooling bills. I personally did not like the appliances at all. I felt like the cheapest possible materials were used in construction. They’re expensive, and rent goes up every year. I had to move because it was way too expensive. Took 2-3 months and multiple calls/emails to get my security deposit back. They were quick to plaster a cease and desist order on my door if I was just one minute late on giving money, but they took their sweet time giving my money back. Lakeshore Flats Pros: The floor-plans are very nice. I wouldn’t go so far as to say luxurious, but definitely upscale, and it is one of the only things I will miss about the place. I would keep these floor-plans in mind if I ever built a home, the units are very spacious. The closets were great! Pool and workout area. I don’t even need to elaborate, it was nice to have the option to work out or enjoy the pool even if I didn’t utilize it. The patio/balcony was amazing! I was able to grow tons of plants on my patio and still have room to have a nice sitting area. The kitchen is great! I hated the stove and the dishwasher, but everything else about it was amazing. Very deep sink, large pantry and tons of cupboard and counter space. I can’t say enough good things about the kitchen! In unit laundry is always a good thing. The location can’t be beat, honestly. I loved being within walking or biking distance of grocery stores and downtown. My cat loved the large windows and wide windowsills. Overall, its an okay place. Did I have a great experience here? Not really. Would I come back if I absolutely had to? Sure.

I loved the year I spent at Lakeshore Flats! The apartment was spacious and beautiful, I had kind and quiet neighbors, my dog loved all the possible walking routes, I could walk to one of the markets...there were so many perks to the community. Janelle and Joe are a stellar example of what a community manager and maintenance manager can be like, when they do their jobs incredibly well and compassionately. When they added Cara to their team in the office, they added a beacon of optimism and organization. I'm super grateful for all of their support, they went above and beyond to help me navigate the transition to a new city.

This is the absolute best place to rent at! The staff is always available and attentive Especially the Managers they are always in the office, they respond immediately to all calls questions or concerns. The on-site managers are so knowledgeable about the property and are hands on with every detail. The apartments are beautiful and beyond clean. The common areas are ALWAYS KEPT UP The pool is so clean and relaxing and staff is always around to help with any requests. I have rented at several places and this Apartment complex hands down is top notch!

Before moving to Lakeshore flats I was having a hard time trying to find out where I wanted to live. I was driving around and found a lot of places and nothing I found was as nice as this place. I drove past Lakeshore flats and decided to come into the front office. I asked about setting up a tour and seeing around the area and Cara at the front desk was super friendly, knowledgable and helpful. This place is super nice and everyone here is really friendly. Haven’t had one issue since!

Lakeshore flats is quite a journey. Within the first week of living here our apartment walls had to be cut open and have our shower lines corrected. The poor construction of these units is pretty amazing, wavy walls and cobbled items. Dishwasher was secured with a twisty tie from a bread bag. Pavement was done improperly in front of the garages and get water inside the units, don’t keep anything near the door. Dumpsters are often over flowing and trash everywhere. Dog poop is often piled up too. Aside from the climbing rent prices the office is often confused, trying to bill for rent that has already been corrected or chasing after lease agreements that aren’t accurate. This was a couple times a year. When we finally moved out, we had a debt collector call us for $160. Surprising to us when lakeshore flats has our phone numbers, emails, and forwarding address they could have contacted themselves to square up. Save the headache, try somewhere else.
