A favorite camping site. Additional new campsites opened up this year expanding their capacity. Morman Island has something to do for everyone. Hiking trail, camping, a lake swim beach, fishing and playground equipment. The bathrooms are well maintained and clean in the original camping section. They are brand new in the camping expansion. The only downside is some interstate traffic noise.

This is a really nice park. Itโ€™s situated right off I-80 on the north side of the highway just before Grand Island. There is a gas station/convenience store right on the corner as you enter the park. Itโ€™s an easy walk of less than a mile from the furthest point in the campgrounds to this store. There is a very nice concrete path from the Cottonwood Campground to the check in station at the park entrance. We stayed at Cottonwood where the road and site pads are paved. The Cedarwood Campground has gravel roads and pad sites. Our site was very level and within easy distance to the dump station, which is actually conveniently placed in the middle of the 2 campgrounds. There is no WiFi but phone and data service is excellent. Our antenna allowed us to get 20 very clear TV channels. This park is right next to I-80 and there is traffic noise, but surprisingly it was not terrible and quickly became โ€œwhite noiseโ€. We found this park to be exceptionally clean and well maintained. There is a wonderful mowed path around all the lakes, including a truly lovely spot about a half mile east up to the next lake over. The beach here was open, clean and also well maintained. Many people were enjoying it. It appears lots of people who are not campers come to the beach for day use. Itโ€™s a nice place for locals, I imagine. The bathrooms were always clean and had toilet paper. There needs to be shelves installed in toilet stalls for folks to put cell phones. Many women now carry their phones in a pocket and do not have purses. A shelf would be great, so I donโ€™t accidentally drop my phone in the toilet. Also, note: there are NO stall doors in both the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s bathrooms nearest the check in station. Sorry thatโ€™s just not cool. The showers in Cottonwood were nice and had well sized stalls with a bench and a hook. These were free showers while the ones at Cedarwood were pay showers! Please note also: you must have a Nebraska park pass in addition to your campground fees. Itโ€™s $8/day or $35/year for residents and $45/year for non residents. Overall the price is good and this is a very nice place.

Only giving stars because it has electricity/showers and offers the safety of being in a campground and the staff were very friendly and helpful. But this campsite is just awful. You're packed in like sardines and have to pay $12 a night if you are out of state. So we paid almost $40 for the worst campsite I've ever been to. You're just pulled off on the side of the road- like a half a foot from the road. No privacy whatsoever and the back in spots were right on top of each other. The pictures of the lake are deceiving. You're right off the highway and there is highway noise the whole night. And the sites that look like they are near the water are directly beside the highway. If you look closely in my picture you will see the highway in the background. Other than necessity I cannot fathom spending time there. It was just depressing. And the lake is really sad.

The campgrounds and bathrooms/showers were meticulously maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Make sure you have exact cash or a check to pay for the day pass, $5, if you don't have an annual pass. The lakes were small, so a little disappointing. Easy access to and from the highway with a gas station near the entrance. The handicap spot next to us had a beautiful concrete slab.

An isolated but beautiful park. Good trails to the lookouts.

Lovely small lakes, many fish caught. No, I was not one of lucky ones. Great camping electricity only though, and only one dump station.

Ask the office how much for the night, $25. He asked if I had a preference, I said pull through so that I don't have to disconnect as I'm just staying for the night. He informs me that they are all "electric plus" sites which are $5 extra. I asked what the "plus " meant and he said 30 and 50 amp. Fine I'll pay $5 extra. He then sees that I have out of state plates and says that I have to pay non-resident entrance fee of $8, instead of $6 for residents. He tells me that the pass is good ubtil 8 am and must be on drivers side windshield. Check out time is 2pm, which means if you don't leave by 8am technically you need to pay another $8. I normally hit the road between 8am and 9am so I'm not giving them another $8. $14.50 non-resident single day fishing permit with no disabled veteran discount. The office is 3/4 of a mile, so I can't walk to get the permit. Besides that it seems to be a really decent campground, especially if you like fishing.

This place is pretty, and the lady who works the check-in is sweet... but they have no campsites with water hook-ups. You have to fill your tank and run off of it. I was given a refund, and I appreciate that. They basically have electricity at the sites and nothing else. Their "full hook-up" is different than every other place I've been.

I stopped over late on a road trip across I-80 as an alternative to staying in a hotel. This is a clean, well-maintained little campground, with nice (enough) bathrooms and showers, and an attentive campground host. I would definitely do it again.

Lovely campsites and clean facilities make Mormon Island a delightful destination. Tent sites are generously spaced, and have ample trees for shade and hammock-tying purposes. Grills and firepits are included at each site. A small branch of the Platte River runs along many of the tent sites, affording ample opportunities for bird and wildlife watching and admiration of native wildflowers. Noise from the nearby interstate is more pronounced at night, but the scenery and convenience far outweigh this minor distraction. Can't wait to return.

Very well kept RV sites and campground. Electric only hook ups with dump and water fill station avaliable. Large spots. We were here November 27th and had no issues getting a spot. I would suggest reservations in peak season. Close to convenience store.

I used to come here with my parents over 40 years ago. Now they have a new camping area right on a second lake. It's very nice. You have to watch where you set your trailer, our last step is quite a drop because the ground slopes off sharply. There is noise from the interstate, but I didn't notice it so much in the trailer. We had a lovely time.

Beautiful place to camp for the weekend. It is close to Grand Island, so if you need anything you are close to a place to get whatever you need. The new area (campground 2) is super nice, not a lot of trees but you can get satellite service if you have a dish. Only draw back is the Interstate noise, which is to big of a deal.

Enjoyed our 3 nights there. Nice level pads, short trails and a friendly camp host. Shower was only lukewarm however and it is a bit pricey. Off season$20 elec PLUS park entrance of 12$ nonres so 32$ a night but overall a good stay.

Very nice recreational area. We stopped just for one night and were very happy we did. Pictures and video show a storm moving right over the lake that late afternoon. We didn't manage to shoot more pictures because of the storm. Stay safe.

The staff was nice, the place clean and the swim beach was great. For tents there is nice space between you and your neighbors. Yes, you hear a lot of highway noise as it is right next to I-80

The campground was nice, quiet and clean. Note they prohibit alcohol. Our campsite was very spacious. Itโ€™s close to I80, so there is some truck noises throughout the night, but we still slept fine. The bathrooms were solid but maybe slightly under-maintained (low on TP and soap). The camp host was happy to restock for us.

Nice, spacious park with several small, trail-linked lakes. Great RV camping spots with power and shared water for $42 ($30 for site + $12 out of state plates park fee).

I love this place itโ€™s very well maintained and great for kids. If you are looking to fish itโ€™s probably not the best one but kids had fun catching little sunfish. Itโ€™s also very close to civilization so if you need anything itโ€™s an easy run. The only big downside is jt being right next to the interstate you have the traffic all night.

I didn't stay here, just visited for the Nebraska Great Park Pursuit. I would definitely like to stay here though! Looks very pretty and enough space to spread out of you want.

We arrived late evening for a quick overnite stay. Unfortunately it was dark and raining out when we arrived so we didn't see much of the recreation area, however it looked like it would have been great had the weather been better. The campground is conveniently located off hwy 80. The Bathrooms were very nice & clean. We would definitely stop here again :)

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Of the tracks my son and I have been on, Road Atlanta has had the best facilities. A clean, paved paddock area, plenty of electric hook ups in the pit area, and clean bathrooms with showers.
