We recently stayed at Hilltop in the motel and absolutely loved our stay. The grounds are quiet, so many beautiful flowers and gardens, so peaceful. We enjoyed a quiet afternoon on the deck overlooking the bay reading and basking in the sun. The basic breakfast offerings are simple but we were grateful for a convenient meal to start our day. The beds were comfortable in our room and space was clean. Staff were friendly. We will absolutely come back and stay again (next time for longer)!

We stayed 3 nights in the Eagle cabin in Oct. 2022. Tisha and her husband are new owners effective Sept. 2022. They are working to update some of the items that need attention, or are out of date. The cabin we stayed at was clean and tidy. We had a private picnic table & fire ring with wood provided - how nice! Great views and we were visited by several local deer. Grand Marais is a quiet & peaceful town. We loved our visit to Lake Superior and we hope to return to Hilltop next year. I especially appreciate that Tisha allowed us early arrival due to a migraine while traveling (with ice pack waiting). It was most appreciated. We stayed an extra day - the area is a great place to visit! We enjoyed beachcombing, hiking trails, lighthouses & stargazing! We also visited Archie's West Bay Diner while in Grand Marais - great food, gift shop & ambiance!

Stayed here for 3 days great cabin. Very clean and very peaceful. Easy check in and check out. We will be back again. Thanks for the great time.

We have stayed here numerous times over the years and it is always a pleasure! New owners are amazing and helpful and so nice! Rooms are clean and comfortable! We would absolutely recommend Hilltop again and again to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay!

Great location to stay at to be near the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore. The host was very polite and helpful. I loved the fire pit areas and little patio areas that overlooked the lake. We stayed in both the Tiny Cabin and the Owl Room. Both lodging setups could have been a little cleaner and both had at least one light bulb that was out or that was flickering to go out soon. The Tiny Cabin is advertised as being able to cook in it, but for a stovetop all it has is a hot plate. The Owl Room is set up to be able to cook in it, but some of the dials on the oven are faded off, making it hard to see the temperature you’re setting it to.

For the price, we were quite pleasantly surprised by our overnight experience here. Pleasant staff, well equipped and fairly roomy motel room (Wolf!), with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Our room was absolutely gorgeous! Staying in "Deer" cabin. Smelled cozy, lots of table space, and a warm (electric) fire was already going for us. Would 100% come back!

We recently stayed at the Hilltop Cabins on our Honeymoon. The owners are really great people and they made our stay special. Our cabin was amazing. It was clean and cozy. Grand Marais is a beautiful little town with a charm all its own. We highly recommend these cabins when visiting Grand Marais. Hill top Cabins is a place where you can make great memories. Thank you guys for such a great place to stay.

We stayed in the Owl room and loved our stay! There was everything needed to cook simple meals: pots, pans, eating utensils, mixing bowls, microwave, oven, toaster. The fridge kept everything very cold too. The room was clean and the location was great. Very quiet and lovely outdoor areas to enjoy. Hosts are kind and helpful. Rustic, yet has everything you need at a very reasonable rate. We'd love to come again!

My husband and I stayed in #10, the Owl Room and loved it. It had everything we needed to prepare meals and survive in a small town over Christmas without going out to eat. We love small, quiet locations away from busy areas and this was a great home base for us as we explored Pictured Rocks. We even had chocolates and cake pops left in our room as a Christmas treat! We hope to be fortunate enough to come back this way again,and if we do, we would definitely stay here again.

Lovely little place, makes you feel at home! We stayed in the wolf room, very cozy & quiet. I loved that it had supplies/equipment to cook with! Rustic with everything you need. Very convenient, perfect location, would love to come again & try one of the bigger cabins!

Lovely place to stay with your family. Our entire group (50) stayed here and the rooms/cabins were very cozy, clean, and well maintained. The beds are comfy! It is located close to the water and town, and about 40 mins always from the national park. The outdoor area is also great for relaxing and outdoor games. Lastly, as a parent of little ones, I appreciated that they had toys that you can borrow from the office.

We stayed here for a weekend of snowmobiling and the owners were very nice and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Lots of parking room for the trailer. I would recommend this place to stay .

The rooms are rustic but with very comfortable beds, spacious, with hardwood floors. Shower was hot. Location overlooks Lake Superior and is a short walk to the beach. We love GM, and have stayed here multiple times. The owners are great!

Great clean cabins very friendly people. I think the driveway would be a bit of a challenge in winter, otherwise great location.

I was there on 10/03/22 and stayed in the Motel. It is very clean, and they are so friendly. Newly renovated and close to town. I would highly recommend if you need a place to stay in Grand Marais that you book with them.
