Great lunch experience. My coworkers and I have wanting to try this place for some time and we went today. Colorful atmosphere. Attentive and sweet staff. All of our food was fantastic. The salsa was so good. We plowed through a couple cups of it which seldom happens. Then we got some appetizers...Mexican Corn. Guacamole Salad, and the shrimp, crayfish and spinach dip (WOW!), they were all delicious! Then out came our meals. Allow them were good. We were all sharing about meals with each other. PS ... all was good except for one thing....the air conditioning condensation was dripping on our table. That was gross. Please fix.

Such a nice place with a fun atmosphere. I had Aime as my waitress/bartender. She was so nice and very helpful. Her and another lady even sang me Happy Birthday to me! The food and drinks were just so perfect. I'll definitely be back!!

Very nice place for a Saturday lunch. Not busy, but maybe a positive review will help. I had the lunch fajitas with cheese sauce. OMG so good, hot, plenty of food! Mine were pork, served with sour cream, Pico, cheese, guacamole, rice and beans! The cheese sauce is a must for something different. My wife had the Special to be back: Shrimp Enchiladas. Also, is reportedly awesome! Service was prompt, courteous, friendly, and just great. They were a little short on chips (do to a supply chain issue) salsa was very good, a little on the hot side. Side note: restrooms are a bit date, but very clean and the door locks work. However, on a cold day-it was colder in the restrooms. Go enjoy!!

Monterey offers dining with tables spaced and seated people with plenty of distance. The server greeted us, took our orders and shared the specials. His name is Daniel and he has a wonderful demeanor and memory. He got all of our special orders correct from memory and returned to do refills and additional requests! We enjoyed the meal tremendously. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. I don't think you could go wrong with any order. The kitchen was cooking and preparing everything right!

TLDR: ORDER CORRECTLY AND DETAILED. I mean in detail and mix and match, do not leave the choice to the waitress. They will serve you all ground beef or "seasoned beef". Order the Wings, And Quesadilla. Do not get too many items with "seasoned beef! The flavor overwhelms you and it all tastes the same. My fiancee had always told me to go check this Tex-Mex restaurant out. She hyped me up, but it was more hype than anything in the end. I ordered the Grande Platter and a chimichanga a la carte. The chimichanga was nice and crisp and the queso sauce really put it over the top in taste. Rich and the Seasoned beef (ground beef) The Grande Platter had: -1 Flauta Seasoned Beef -1/2 Small Grilled Chicken Quesadilla -1/2 Small Grilled Steak Fajita Quesadilla - Some Seasoned Beef Nachos - 1 Fried Mozzarella Stick - 3 Fried Chicken wings - Ranch sauce side - Marinara Sauce - Buffalo Sauce - Scoop of Guacamole on top of Nachos I tried this after the chimichanga... And the Quesadillas were awesome. The little fried wings were great too. But all the season beef (ground beef) in the flauta, the nachos was overwhelming. I did not enjoy it to be honest. I stopped eating half way because the flavor was shadowed because of all the seasoned taco beef flavor. My suggestion, when you order make sure to vary the meats if possible. I didn't get asked what meats I wanted, but just TELL the waitress to vary it. It is not pleasant to eat different samples of dishes when they all taste the same seasons beef flavor. My fiancee ordered a Beef Enchilada plate. She ate the enchiladas, but the rice was kind of off... I didn't like it one bit. The taste or smell wasn't the best on the rice. The beans were great, they smelled good and rich in texture. Overall I wanted to rate them at least a 4, but I just was not pleased with my first time visit. I'll give them another try and maybe update if anything changes.

My wife's fajita meat was not cooked properly.... The manager came out but he lacked proper social etiquette to handle our situation. While he comped my wife's entree, he seemed more put out by the situation than attentive. The queso at this place seems more like and nacho cheese than actual queso. It was not worth the $8 charge....

I feel discriminated against every time I come to this restaurant, I don't know who the lady is, I don't know if she is the owner, I don't know, she is a worker but she is a medium height lady with blonde hair, I work for doordash, always I come to this restaurant to pick up an order, the lady has a very bad attitude, very bad face, her physical expression towards me makes me feel bad, I feel like she believes, that because I am a doordash worker, she is more than me, when I come the order is not ready and she tells me the order is not ready but with a very bad attitude she makes me feel like I'm garbage I don't know why all the time when a Mexican owns a restaurant they feel more than others, I feel discriminated against, I feel better when I go to pick up orders at American restaurants. Why do they treat me the same as if I were just another customer and they are friendly? In this restaurant I feel very discriminated against. I hate coming to this place to pick up orders, but it is part of my work I have to come..

I had the chicken fajita enchiladas. The wife had the Crusty Chicken. Both were terrific!! Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and comfortable. We dined here three days ago we’re still talking about how good it was. Making plans to return. May 2021 update; Back after 13-months due to pandemic. Awesome, wonderful meal. Our server was friendly and attentive. So good to be back!

Delicious! The salsas are amazing. Ground beef enchiladas and just the meat in general has great flavor. Taco salad was amazing!!! It was fresh and beautifully put together. The chicken street taco was ok... tortilla was a little hard and chewy. Loved the nachos!!!

Monterey's has been a staple in Central/North Grand Prairie for as long as I can remember. Over the years not much has changed, but in this case, that's a great thing. The food is always good, the service is always friendly, and the drinks are always cold! Be careful going Sunday for lunch as it is usually packed after church.

Out of town working. Was recommended this place from hotel staff. It’s a hole in the wall with great food and service. The kinda place only locals know about. Authentic Mexican food and very clean. Was very happy. Our server, India, was on point and really took care of us. Plus it was our first visit so we got free queso!

Food was good. I took off a star due to the fact our server was doing whatever she could to get the almighty dollar. We asked for some queso, she didn’t ask if we wanted a cup or a bowl. We said a cup, and she brought a big bowl, we thought maybe it’s just a big cup we asked, and we’re assured, when we got our check it was almost 11 dollars for a bowl. We were told there was nothing we could do, because we did eat it, but we were told one thing and brought and charged another. We also, all ordered enchiladas and asked if it’d be cheaper to just get a plate of enchiladas and two plates of rice… we were told, yes. But she didn’t do or implement it… as a result it affected her tip, because we were charged entirely too much. So we could only afford to tip so much, 50 for a meal, BEFORE tip is ridiculous!

It's called "Authentic Mexican Food", but there's nothing really "authentic" about it. Tacos are in hard shells (authentic tacos are soft), the tacos were ground beef (definitely not authentic), the beans were in an bowl of water (they weren't bad but definitely not authentic), and quesadilla was filled with ground beef. Tex-Mex food is always covered in cheese sauce, and most of their items are served that way. Their salsa was pretty good so they got better than 1 star. I got a lunch special and it just reminded me of the cheap food I used to get for lunch in elementary school.

I love this place. I get a Pina Colada every time I go in there to order food. The restaurant is not a big bldg on the outside but you wouldn't think that when you enter. The food is delicious and you definitely get your money's worth.

Little Mexico revamped there menu . I've been eating there since the 70's . It's the best management and food since then. Very affordable.

I have lived here 70 years and been here many times since they have been open but yesterday was not good. Waitress was very hurried and seemed put out. My wife's chicken was small, previously frozen and dried out and 2 teas and 4 entrees cost $75 for lunch. We will never be back as too many other GOOD Mexican food places all over town. Rice and beans are very cheap.

This place was great! Loved the chips and salsa. Lots of options and the food was delicious and not too expensive. Very quick service too. We will definitely become regulars here.

The drinks here were great and inexpensive! As for the food, it wasn’t so great. I ordered a fajita chicken burrito and the chicken looked and tasted like frozen processed chicken. Overall everything else was great. The customer service was wonderful! I would recommend this place as a good place to get drinks.
