5 stars isn’t enough, I wish I could give more. The bartender to start is absolutely brilliant and a master mixer! The waiting staff is the most friendly bunch of ladies I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Oh and the food is so damn good! Eat here! Drink here! Laugh here!

We stopped in for an early lunch on a Saturday. The place was quiet, but the staff was ready to go! Cool atmosphere. Dug the decor, especially the old business receipts and invoices in the tables' finish. We'd heard good things about the tater tot dishes, and Blue Dog didn't disappoint. The Chorizo Queso tots were flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. The Poutine tots were warm, savory, and filling. Thanks for everything, Blue Dog! We'll be back, and we'll bring friends.

Great local pub with good eats. My second time here. Service is excellent, and it's a cool bar. The first time around I got the Mahi Tacos. The filling was great but the tortillas were dried put and chewy. Second time I got the fish platter. It was excellent. My wife got a couple of their famous dogs. They were pretty good. I love that they split and grill them. Very tasty, but a bit pricey at $8 per dog. Worth a stop for something local and different. Friends speak highly of their smothered tots as well.

Great westside pub! Fantastic food (we had a veggie dog and a smash burger, each with homemade chips - the default) and enjoyed great service. Everything is reasonably priced, especially for the quality. I’ll definitely be back!

Seriously I am always a bit nervous trying a new place but I’m in love! Everything about it was wonderful, I have never had such a good juicy burger, the fries were seasoned perfectly and my partner had the poutine tots which I was jealous of! Our server was a sweet woman and the food was amazing. Thank you for a great night out. ❤️

It was okay. Ordered takeout and it was cold when we got it, even though we picked up when advised. Loaded tots were not loaded with much of anything. No dressing for the salad or the extra sauce we paid for. Their house made chips are good.

Great little spot with a draft selection that would make even snooty beer snobs excited. Everything on the menu my group tried was delicious and tasty.

Great place if you are looking for classic bar food. It’s a popular spot for downtown work lunch. The service is great, it’s got a super casual laid back vibe, with vintage decor scattered about. Very much a classic hometown bar vibe. The food is good, what you’d expect for tavern food. Pictured the smash burger and turkey melt. The smash burger was good (tasted like in and out burgers) but really greasy, I wouldn’t get it again.

Friendly staff and great beer selection. They are known for their tater-tots and they do NOT disappoint! They also have delicious all beefo hotdogs with fun toppings and so much more. My new favorite appetizer is the brussel sprouts, they were on point!

I’ve heard a lot about the Blue Dog Tavern and the drinks lived up to the hype. Iver Design sent me. My only recommendation would be to get some big ice cubes for drinks like an old fashion. The vibe is very cool. Love the “dog marketing”. Will be back to try the food soon!

Tried this place on lunch today, got the Blue Dog and the Loaded Dog. Loved the Blue dog. The loaded dog was a bit weird and really sweet. But I loved the pretzel bun. Great chips too. Seamless ordering process, and had my order in like 2 minutes. Also the Mahi tacos were super unique and tasty!

Blue Dog Tavern has proven to be discriminatory against single males and War on Terror Veterans. As I entered, I was asked "how many?" I answered, "just me." Since I was by myself I was told I could not sit at a table or booth, that I had to sit at the bar. I made no fuss, and took a seat at the bar away from people on both of my sides. I ordered a drink and burger. After finishing roughly two-thirds of my food, I was asked by staff to move a seat over so a group of people could all sit together. Again, I made no fuss and did as asked. However, I find this type of service deplorable especially when rendered towards a single veteran. I doubt I will provide anymore business to this establishment. I will certainly not recommend Blue Dog Tavern to others.

I ordered two Loaded Dogs & the Poutine Tots. The food was super flavorful but it was cold!

The J Dawg Burger, arguably the best burger in Grand Rapids, is something to indulge in atleast once in your life. If you happen to indulge in it semi frequently like myself, you will be stunned by the absolute consistency of epicness this burger brings. Major kudos to the cooks for producing a stunning burger time after time after time. That's no easy feat. The J Dawg gets my vote for best burger in GR.

Great neighborhood bar with charming vintage artwork. I was excited to see the Impossible burger was available. My friend had the West Side Philly sandwich. Great food, great atmosphere, and great prices! We shall return!

Only been here twice so far, but me and some friends love the place already. One even comes back weekly for their burgers. Service is good, the people are pretty chill and nice. The tots are amazing and the hotdogs are great too. Good selection of drinks.

I found this place by chance through Google maps. We went there after spending the morning taking our wedding photos. There was no wait, everyone seemed to be social distancing. The menus are all online and easily accessible from any smart phone. Beer menu is on a large chalkboard that covers one wall. The servers are all the bartenders as well. Def a neighborhood haunt. My French dip left a little bit to be desired, a bit too salty and the bread was just okay. My husband and our guest both ordered burgers and they were delicious. All in all a solid option to check out. Might not become a fat favorite but I’d def come back and try more of their menu. The giant pretzel with cheese on their appetizer menu is enormous and house made, great option

I am a bit of a fish and chips snob. Blue Dog's fish were light, flaky and very tasty, not too salty and just the right portion for lunch. The fries were also delicious and, like the fish, light and not greasy. The service was attentive and speedy. I had a great time reconnecting with a friend.
