Great zoo with well managed exhibits, special events frequently, and conservation education talks at many species. Check the website or talk to the information area for daily schedules. The koalas head back to San Diego 9/15/22. It has been a joy having them among our other beloved species.

Nice small zoo in the city. Quite of a lot uphill walking & winding paths (something to keep in mind). Added a lot of new exhibits recently & expanding more. Free parking & food smells good but you can bring a picnic.

Great zoo, seems like they take good care of the animals. All seemed healthy and active. Lots of little activities for the kids to do too. Kind of pricey though, but what isn't these days.

A decent zoo. I enjoyed the trails and the fact that the exhibits are close together. What I'm not fond of is how things are not labeled well and difficult to find. I felt like we missed a large portion of the zoo just by not being able to find it. And...the poor animals habitats are TINY. We felt so bad for them.

It was a lot of fun! Not everything is open and I don't think all the animals were out but still a lot of fun!

This Zoo is wonderful! Lots of exhibits and chances to interact with the animals. We have been going every year for the last 18 years and it's so fun watching all the growth and changes over the years! We bring our own drinks and snacks, but sometimes splurge on ice cream. We have gone to Boo at the Zoo, Harry Potter Experience, and this year, the Lantern Festival. Always something for everyone!

Great little zoo. Don't have to fight crowds. Peaceful experience with experienced handlers that will tell you about the animals.

I hate zoos but my family loves them and they are so cute to watch making silly faces at the animals who have probably seen every silly face a human can make and were only waiting to go back in the air conditioning, just like me. The displays were small but well thought out. Bring your own food and especially drinks theyvare way over priced inside.

I just keep coming back to John Ball Zoo. They always have something fun happening during the weekends. I also enjoy supporting their cause by being a member of the zoo.

Over priced but it is a zoo. I love the pygmy hippos. So darn adorable. Lots of new things to see there. Tram was down when we visited but rode it a few years ago. Worth the ride. I do recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks. Way over priced. $4 to $5 for a bottled water they pay around .50 to $1 for. The waterfall is beautiful and you can walk underneath it. The meerkat tunnel is so fun.

All staff that I've encountered are friendly and very knowledgeable. The new pygmy Hippo exhibit was amazing! The woman working there was such a joy to talk to and so knowledgeable. Thank you. I love that the zoo is improving so many of the habitats and being more sustainable. Just ask about the new pygmy enclosure! Proud member. I was too interested in the animals to take my phone out, to take pictures.

The mobile scooters available are excellent at climbing those hills at the park..no delays with these. They lasted the entire time at the zoo with plenty of power. A refundable deposit required but well worth it .

I don't know. The place was super crowded. The lanterns and lights were ok but not too impressive by any means. The price was ok for what we saw. The moon however was gorgeous!

Very nice zoo! Lots and lots to do for kiddos of all ages! Plenty of sitting areas in the shade for those days when it’s a bit warm. A few different locations within the zoo that offers drinks treats and food. Exhibits are well maintained and very well throughout!

Awesome Lego sculptures, and a decent-sized park for a day trip. There are interactive exhibits throughout the park. We had a lot of fun.

Went to visit to bid Farewell to Ruby, Rose and Willow (Red Panda cubs) before they depart for Tennessee. Saw the Wallaby baby out of the pouch for the first time. Spent 30 minutes petting Stripe (the goat) in the petting zoo. Zoo was amazing. Food was mediocre. Breadsticks have zero flavor. And pizza was just ok. I appreciate all the zoo does. But please bring in some form of flavor for your human guests (even a garlic butter cup) for bread sticks.

Great morning visiting the Gran Rapids John Ball Zoo with my grandson. Special exhibit was 2 Koalas, brothers but they were asleep. They added zip lines and a trolley train to take people to the mountain top and view the tigers. Hobby Farm for children to pet goats, aquarium and camel rides.
