A very beautiful island, definitely worth a visit if you are nearby. We drove to “Pointe Maurice”. Be careful, don't be put off, there's a barrier coming up, but the gentleman is very nice, opens the barrier and explains everything. You can then park there and a boat goes to the island every 30 minutes. It took about 10 minutes and then we were over there. We had to report to the “Sands Grill” bar where we paid 450 per person including a welcome drink and a lounger. We then walked towards the southeast. The beaches were white and the water was crystal clear. There is a huge golf course in the middle of the island. We were there in June and we had the beach almost to ourselves. We can also recommend the wood-fired pizza at Sands Grill. TIP do not book expensive sailings from Trou d'Eau Douce!!!

Between 11am and 2pm the beach gets very crowded with tourists from catamaran and speed boat tours. During lunch time try to avoid the beach area where the boat tours do the lunch grills(south from the Bubble beach). The beach is quite narrow, the tables are right on the beach, behind the beach there are a lot of "private property" signs(from the golf course) and it smells of fuel due to the high number of boats. It could be quite nice outside the lunch period.

Starting to see more plastic bottles lying around, toilets not really being cleaned in between, bottles, glasses and ashtrays not being cleared away from the beach, coffee from really nice machines tasting like water. It's best to let visitors on the island without plastic water bottles. Someone should sit by the toilets and wipe every now and then so that it doesn't smell that bad. Coconut is just too expensive. Loungers are getting old. Music is just too loud to eat, people shout at each other more. Beach, there are nicer ones. For me the flair is no longer there. A pity.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Mauritius as it truly is one of the most beautiful places i have seen. The parasailing gives you the birds eye views of the different shades of blue and turquoise water and there are other water sports there plus an adventure zipline/climbing activity if your little ones want to have some action out of the water.
