Food is delicious, Marlene is very nice and her hospitality is very kind. We ate a great tune fish, tasty chicken, green papaya, eggplant and rice.

Very authentic and delicious food. There is no menu, you sit down and some food is served. It’s like eating at grandmas house 😊

Great host, atmosphere and food as well. When we came in it was not opened yet (it was around 1 pm), but when the owner saw us, she gave us a warm welcome and a seat. I was a bit surprised there was no menu and the owner just brought us some drinks, food and a dessert right away without waiting and asking whether we want it, but the price was acceptable for what we received and the visit was really amazing authentic experience, so I highly recommend it to anyone at least a bit adventurous who prefers local food over the fancy restaurants. One tip for the owner - having a choice from two menus or at least having the offer visible right from the road together with the price would be a huge plus.

We went there for late lunch on Easter Sunday and we were welcome with open arms by Marlene. She was expecting other people but said "don't worry, I'll make you something". After a few minutes she came back with fresh juice and a delicious meal with grilled fish, rice and salad a mere 5-10min later. Marlene and her husband will always make you feel welcome, with a big smile and lovely stories. She even sang a song for us, as she used to be a gospel singer. Overall, the most traditional Creole meal and experience we have had in Seychelles so far.

Our dinner at Petit Cabanes was an amazing experience and a prime example of the Seychellois hospitality. Marlene is not only an outstanding cook but also a warmhearted host and a great entertainer. If you are looking for an authentic dinner you definitely need to go to Marlene - you'll immediately feel like a family friend and not like a customer. We recommend dropping by her place or give her a call a few hours before you want to eat to give her time to prepare everything.

Such a cool experience! Homemade creole meal with an atmosphere of stopping by a friends for dinner. A must try!

We were lucky to taste Marlene‘s great home cooked authentic creole food! We drove by one day prior asking if she had a spot for us. We were able to come back the following day for dinner. Marlene brought us some fresh juice and the best tuna we had during our stay! The tuna was accompanied by rice, a yummi sauce and veggies (some fried some raw). The portion size was large and the food was fresh and very tasty! We even received some watermelon as desert. After we finished dinner, Marlene sat with us at the table and told us a bit about her life and we could even sign her guest book. Overall a very pleasant experience with tasty authentic creole food. Totally recommended! Note: The food always changes but most of the time consists of grilled fish, chicken or curries.

Marlene is a lovely host and an excellent cook. This small restaurant is a great place to eat local food and feel very welcome. We liked it so much we came twice!

300 rupees a person (communicated at the end of the meal) for a plate of chicken curry + glass of water flavoured with passion fruit was too much (you can get better value for money). Recommendation: ask for the price before you sit down. The lady was very nice and friendly.
