Just
how
big
is
this
place?!
I
spotted
at
least
two,
maybe
three
levels
of
exterior
decks,
in
addition
to
the
already
colossal
dining
areas
within,
that
similarly
span
multiple
floors!
Even
so,
they
must
not
be
able
to
staff
it
to
full
operational
capacity,
as
our
quoted
40-minute
wait
stretched
to
over
an
hour.
This
would
prove
to
be
an
omen
of
things
to
come,
as
timeliness
continued
to
be
the
one
aspect
of
our
visit
where
Taprock
would
continue
to
struggle
throughout
the
rest
of
our
meal.
When
we
were
finally
seated
on
one
of
the
dog-friendly
patio
tables,
it
took
our
waitress
another
five
minutes
to
arrive.
She
took
our
drink
orders,
and
disappeared
for
another
10
minutes.
We
then
ordered
our
entrees,
which
would
arrive
on
what
I
would
consider
to
be
the
long-ish
end
of
an
acceptable
amount
of
time,
and
we
dug
in.
We'd
kept
things
simple:
an
Avocado
Burger,
Yeti
Burger,
and
Pulled
Pork
Sliders.
Each
sandwich
was
tasty,
cooked
to
order,
and
size-ably
portioned.
The
pulled
pork
sliders
were
the
standout
entrée,
rising
above
the
rest
due
to
the
inclusion
of
pineapple
and
pretzel
buns,
both
of
which
were
inspired
choices!
The
cheese
triangles
on
the
Yeti
burger
weren't
quite
what
I
was
expecting,
being
breaded
and
not
as
gooey
as
I'd
imagined,
but
still
a
solid
effort
overall.
Once
the
meal
was
concluded,
checkout
proved
to
be
a
chore.
Our
waitress
had
disappeared
once
more,
and
we
didn't
end
up
rounding
her
up
for
another
15
minutes.
In
fact,
we
didn't
see
anyone
from
the
restaurant's
staff
that
entire
time.
Our
combined
total
time
at
the
restaurant,
from
check
in
to
check
out,
was
well
over
two
hours,
most
of
which
was
spent
waiting
for
a
table,
or
waiting
to
interact
with
a
human
being.
Other
than
these
complaints,
Taprock
has
a
lot
going
for
it.
The
manicured
gardens,
ponds,
waterfalls
and
paths
along
the
waterfront
are
a
nice
touch,
and
help
to
alleviate
the
boring
wait
times.
There
is
also
a
dock
for
some
sort
of
riverboat,
which
seems
to
be
somehow
associated
with
the
restaurant,
so
there's
more
to
explore
on
a
future
visit.
It
seems
that
Taprock
is
popular
with
the
locals
in
Grants
Pass,
and
I'm
sure
our
underwhelming
experience
is
an
outlier,
but
didn't
make
for
a
stellar
first
impression.
Everything
about
the
meal
was
just
okay,
which
doesn't
really
balance
the
scales,
when
weighed
against
the
interminable
waiting.
Still,
I'd
be
willing
to
give
them
another
shot
in
the
future,
to
see
if
they
can
put
enough
effort
into
their
service
as
they
have
in
landscaping,
and
the
building
itself.
