We loved Ban Mai until our meal this evening. We ordered the yellow chicken curry which has been a beloved meal of ours. We specialty order it with no carrots and add more chicken (there chicken has always been a little light). It would run about $13 for this dinner which is fair. This evening we went in and the portion sizes are 1/2 the size and they charged us $18.50 for the meal. $4 was added for the extra chicken. When I opened the containers it doesn't even appear that more chicken was added. I understand prices everywhere are going up, but I can assure you this meal is not worth the $18.50. Also, when you charge people $4 more for chicken, please put it in the order! As you can see from the pictures, the chicken is very thin and small and it's the usual amount in the order. Super bummed!

Food was great! Love my Gluten Free, Vegan option. The workers were very friendly and nice. Would definitely recommend this place if you stop in town.

Delicious!!! Some of the best Thai food I have had. The peanut sauce is to die for- could have eaten it alone with a spoon. Dined with some friends as I was visiting GP who dine here often. We all enjoyed everything. Can’t wait to come for another visit. The service is kind, friendly and efficient.

Update: I have been coming here for over 6 years now, and I don't really have any updates, because it's still just as awesome! Very good, as in awesome, food. Large portions, perfectly plated and served quickly. Good selection, and lots of vegetarian options. Very friendly and rapid staff, and overall a very good atmosphere, with happy subdued conversations from couples and large and small groups of family and friends. This is a very nice place, well decorated, clean and neat and comfortable. (<reminder notes to self lol>Green curry, red curry, pad Woon Sen/rice noodles, stir fry mixed veggies, eggplant, Rama. veg tempura green curry, pad Thai, mixed veggies 2/3/17) (drunken noodle, yellow curry, Pad Woon Sen, Green curry, mixed veggies 2/18/08) (jungle curry-, pad Woon sen, to go Pad See Ew 3/5/18)(Pad Ped-, Raw Nah- Panang Curry- green curry?-? Drunken Noodles to go 3/11)(pad chow mein+, pineapple curry-, basil stir fry, to go- red curry, glass noodles, mixed vegetables. 3/19) (+Massaman curry, stir fry - sweet and sour) (4/8 Rama etc) (everything good so far ;)

100% true story. We got takeout here last night (they only offer takeout). I’m from Seattle and have many choices for amazing Thai. I wasn’t expecting much and Ban Mai beat expectations. There’s only fives things you need to know about this place 1. Garlic. 2. Garlic. 3. Garlic. 4. Garlic. 5. Garlic. When we pulled up and parked 100 ft from the door and got out of the car my first thought was “Garlic”. My wife went in and got the food and put it in the back seat. Garlic. We went to our room at the Hampton. Carrying it in to our room I said to my wife “our room is going to smell like garlic”. The green papaya salad had about a half bulb of raw garlic. I really liked it, was above average for what we get in Seattle. My beef with vegetables over wide noodles was intense garlic and pretty good, probably average for Seattle. My wife wasn’t very crazy about her stir fried vegetables with deep fried tofu (it was drowning in sauce). A couple hours after dinner my wife had to get something from the car. When she got in the elevator with two other people they immediately began talking about a strong odor. My wife didn’t say anything as they finally decided it was a smell of garlic coming from someone who brought takeout to their room. The last thing she heard them say as she got off the elevator was “I hope it was better for them than for us”. I’d say it was.

Found our Go To Thai place! The food was so flavorful! The service, even when busy, was great! Definitely coming back!

Rude customer service, took forever to get even a glass of water. Seated at a table that wasn't ready. Didn't offer refills until 30 min after first round of water. Looked at us and ignored us the rest of the time. The young woman at least made an effort, the man was rude the whole time. The food was good but made me sick and have been since last night after eating. The Atmosphere was super beautiful until rude customers and customer service killed it. We will never be back.. Because it's not listed below, we got the sweet and sour chicken , spring rolls and chow mien dish. Trust me don't waste your money or your time.

I enjoyed a delicious meal here last night. But my order was not correct I politely pointed that out and the effort to rectify that was half-hearted. No big deal, but, when the check came it was also not correct. Rather than fix it, the server decided to argue, endlessly. It became petty and bizarre and confusing and quite rude. I'm sure whoever is managing this place knows who I am describing. Great cooking I'm sorry to say I will not go back.

The red curry chicken, delicious egg drop soup and the Thai Iced Tea was a party to my taste buds! Good portions and reasonably priced. I was so surprised when my Server remembered what I had ordered before when I was dining for the second time with a large group of friends. Here's a picture of me and my Server on my birthday.

Awesome food, I'd say in fighting for top Thai in GP. Building is a bit dated, and on the edge of town, but the food - easily - makes up for it. Close to a 5 star, but I'm still looking for that small touch up, to push this place to the next level.

Curry, is my favorite. It was a good curry. The veggie spring rolls were very good.

We stumbled upon this place on our way to the caves. We arrived for lunch. I can’t believe the amount of food we got. We each ordered the yellow curry, which came with egg drop soup and a fried spring roll for $10. The egg drop soup was the best I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend this place.

Ban Mai is THE best Thai food in Grants Pass! Hands down! The people here are super friendly and the food is so FLAVORFUL!!! My favorites to order both in and out are the yellow curry (spice level 10/3), the Thai margarita EXTRA spicy, the salad rolls, the rib eye salad and the curry fried rice!! 🤤🌶🌶🌶

Really loved this place, but prices have gotten more expensive, and the meat in the dishes has drastically shrank. Like the other reviews, I have also paid extra $$ for additional meat, and it was never added. I hope this place is able to bounce back

We’ve been coming here for 17 years. The quality is always consistent! I’ve tried so many menu items and love them all. Authentic flavors and always fresh! They are very busy so come with patience and you definitely won’t be disappointed! We love Ban Mai!!

Sushi was delicious, we got the double double roll and the salmon and shrimp roll. Panang curry was good but not strong enough. With jasmine rice it was almost bland. Definitely needs more heat and flavor. Pad Thai was okay, lots of sprouts and green onion which I liked. It was too saucy and sweet. Overall good place though.

Driving thru town on i-5 and stopped here. Mediocre food, but it satisfied my hunger and is more nutritious than fast food. Close to on/off ramps. Huge parking lot.
