BEWARE! OUR CHILD DIED AT VALLEY HOPE GRAPEVINE! We researched to find the best 24/7 medical facility and decided on Valley Hope Grapevine. We dropped off our beautiful, talented, and caring daughter on a Thursday evening, and she was DEAD in less than 30 hours. She was not monitored or cared for. The urine test and the blood test she took the night she arrived would have told this facility everything it needed to keep her alive. No one cared, no one called a doctor as she was going into septic shock. She lay on her bathroom floor dead for almost two hours before anyone noticed. An ambulance was called, CPR was given to her tiny, already rigored body. She arrived at a nearby ER already in full rigor. In Texas it is next to impossible to sue a doctor or a medical facility since a 2003 law was passed to protect the medical malpractice in the state. Grapevine Valley Hope has refused to give us her medical records. Valley Hope has been all but silent. We received the call that she was being taken to a hospital at 2:30 in the morning. The director, Jacqueline Mayfield, met with us two days later--after our child had died from their medical malpractice. Mayfield told us that she could not give us our daughter's medical records even though we were her emergency contact. Mayfield promised she would let us know the internal investigation results, which would take 30 days. Of course we have not received any information. Our child died on their careless, inept watch. DO NOT TRUST THIS FACILITY -- PEOPLE DIE AT VALLEY HOPE AND THERE IS NO RECOURSE. I will never hold my daughter's hand again which is beyond comprehension. Don't bet your life in this facility--you may lose.

I’ve been to a few treatment centers but this one is by far the worst. The nursing staff was completely and utterly disrespectful to those who were detoxing and hardly there when meds needed to be given out. When you would ask, they took their sweet time to make patients wait while they were either on their cell phones or talking amongst each other. Anytime you would ask a question, you received a completely unnecessary attitude. If you want coffee or snacks, you have to use your own money to get it. I had a $100 bill in my phone wallet case that is now missing and my cards were rearranged. You also have to pay $250 out of pocket to see the psychiatrist to get on the right meds, whom I never saw even when I signed up to see him. I only wanted to stay for detox but the counselors would strongly recommend and almost harass you over and over to stay for the full 30 days. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. If you want to go to a 5 star facility, I highly recommend Greenhouse in Arlington.

These people don't actually care about your family/friends. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else, this is a overrated adult Daycare. ESPECIALLY if you're loved one is going in for alcohol, these people are incompetent, insurance money hungry, they don't care if you're loved one is experiencing symptoms of an emergency, they will not call for help, they will simply brush it under the rug and wait until the next morning. Go somewhere else. EDIT: After a month this review gets just a copy/pasted response from these dirt bags that killed my father. Hopefully this shows you enough....

Long review but please read before you or your loved one makes a decision on a treatment center... First, The medical team utterly failed me, They mishandled my important mental health medications even though I had just come from a mental health/detox facility that got them sorted out before I came in. When this occurred they acted as if it was my fault and the nursing staff even became hostile towards me! The psychiatrist they have on staff charges $250 (won’t take insurance) and treats patients as if their opinions on the medication THEY are taking, doesn’t matter, regardless of a prior diagnosis. This was not only my experience but multiple clients had issues with him and the mishandling of their meds. He is also is only available once a week, not even accessible by phone. I found it disappointing and incredibly irresponsible. I completed 30 days there and had to go directly to a mental health facility for 6 days after I left just to get my medication regulated back to what I was already taking before valley hope. That is just unacceptable in my opinion for a place that is supposed to help my mental health. My counselor was very nice but never seemed very interested in my recovery. I didn’t feel as though he was a strong advocate for me during my time there. It seems that the counselors are almost all new and prefer to just kind of take it easy. One day for process group we played a game throwing basket balls to each other with no life lesson or Andy thing and then just played basketball...? Cant believe my insurance paid for that!! Ultimately I am not mad at valley hope I understand it’s a business and there are going to be issues but I left disappointed in my wasted time there... I would urge you to re-consider where you are spending your money ($13,000). Personally I would recommend a treatment center more recovery and 12-step focused. Valley Hope is easy and conveniently located but if you or your loved one doesn’t ultimately stay sober the money and time is wasted anyway. Thanks for reading and hope this helps someone!

This place lures you in under the guise that you can detox and leave. They say everything right during admission and the detox care was great. However, a day or so into detox you are assigned a counselor and every single one of them starts immediately with a high pressure sales pitch as to why you need to stay 30 days for treatment. No matter how many times you explain you are only there for detox, they push even harder. My so called counselor even called my wife behind my back and told her if I left after detox, I would either die, become a dry drunk, or relapse and hide liquor. He then came and told me that if I did not stay for 30 days that my wife was going to leave me. Once I competed detox, I signed out but they called it ACA because it was against my counselor's advice. It's a big money scam to get all the insurance money they can! The only reason I am giving at least 1 star is because the actual nursing staff are amazing. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!

In response to Michelle White's review 3 months ago, where she posted her Dad died in June 2022. My niece died here in December 2021. Looks like there is at least on death a year. When you come here, ask how many people have died in this facility. Who has died in 2023? I cannot stress enough, this place should be out of business. One DEATH is too many.

The entire staff, while there, from nursing, counseling, kitchen, intake, etc., is incredible! I HIGHLY recommend this place. Just make sure you can afford it. Every dealing with their business office feels like a shady used car dealership, which is very unfortunate. The business office makes promises they won't hold up to once you're off the property.

Beware - they killed my dad in June 2022 There is no recourse for what they did. Poor nursing staff, doctor that was in charge of my father's care chose not to transfer him to the hospital to get urgent medical treatment. Do not send your loved ones here. Edit - the canned response is shameful. They would be better off not responding as they know who I am and who my dad is and what they did. Why would I ever contact them for “help” for anyone I ever care about again. Pathetic response. Please send you or your loved ones elsewhere.

Going to cut to the chase: Aside from the terrific nursing staff (as well as the chaplains and a few other good eggs), the place is run poorly and the "director" of the place -- Amy -- does not care about your needs while you're in recovery and setting up success for when you leave. She has zero compassion, zero empathy, and just wants your money and silence -- it's clear she abuses her power and this place would be amazing if she were no longer there. Added to that, the programming there is extremely repetitive and there's little coping skills and tools learned that you need for when you get back to the real world. I only recommend this place for the nursing staff, who are all incredible and the ones who want you to succeed.

If you are struggling with mental health issues this is not your place. It’s 12 step addiction focused with little emphasis on mental health. I had a very poor experience here. I came in with stitches and staples on my scalp. When I was admitted, I was told I would be able to go to the hospital for a recheck and suture removal. When the time came they would not let me leave to go to the hospital to recheck and remove those. They bought a “staple removal kit” and I was told the untrained nurses would remove them. The 12 step without mental health support approach was not for me and I was also lied to from the beginning about seeing an outside doctor for my head.

Don’t take your loved ones here!! It’s roach infested🪳the staff is completely incompetent, they don’t do a full assessment upon arrival. I could go on and on. All they want is your insurance info or money. I pulled my son from here IMMEDIATELY and took him to a real facility that cared about his mental health and alcohol treatment.

Valley hope is a great place. My counselor Ashley was awesome she pushed me but was also very loving and caring. I enjoyed the nighttime nursing staff so much Rachel, Courtney deserve so much more than they’re getting paid. Absolutely the most caring and kind nurses I’ve ever met. Lisa was a great PCA along with tamika and Tatiana. Everyone I’ve listed has a real love for the patients and cares about their sobriety just as much as the counselors do. My first days there I didn’t enjoy it to much but as you get adjusted to the way of life and the people there it gets easier and easier. You’ll meet great people when you go to VH people who understand addiction and you Won’t be judged for telling your stories of hopelessness and regret. Please help the night staff they already have lots on their plates and they can be overwhelmed easily by the amount of work left over from the day staff and passing out meds. Thank you to everyone that cared for me during my stay love you all.

My concerns over previous reviews were alleviated after a couple of the 28 days I spent in the residential program here. Greg, the new executive director, has obviously turned this place around since these reviews were posted. The food, the nursing staff, the counselors, all go above and beyond. Love lives here! The only reason I couldn't leave 5 stars is that the chaplains haven't caught up yet.

i'm not sure i would trust this facility especially regarding therapists and admissions. the admissions manager was my former therapist at another facility and it was a rollercoaster. i made excuses for why i wasn't getting sessions or certain treatments on days i was told or the number of sessions the facility promised weekly bc the few sessions i did have felt so monumental. however it reached the point i was having to advocate for myself constantly to get the therapy sessions my insurance was paying for and when i decided to leave she got very defensive towards me at first. when i did finally leave she left her contact info but when i reached out to simply request a letter she blocked me after my first message although i'm very respectful of the professionalism and the time. i feel like i spent all the time in treatment being deceived by someone who doesnt actually care like she says or care about the safety of children like she says. if this is the administration i would recommend taking caution with what you believe
