Acorn Woods Park

Tourist attraction Park

👍👍 Beautiful park with occasional scena of the water from the walking trail. There are several covered picnic tables to eat at, but not a ton of parking. You will see plenty of people either walking their dogs or riding their bicycles. The path is suitable for strollers. People often mention park, nice, picnic, water, trails, trail,

We used to visit this park all the time when we lived right across the street. It's a really nice area, great hiking trails, nice paths, picnic tables, fishing areas, a beach, and docks for your boats. We brought our dog here for his last day, he loved it. I 150% recommend bringing your dog here for a nice stroll around the water bank. There's so much for them to explore and see, they will love it.

Having visited this area a number of times over the years and frequently walking in an adjacent neighborhood I decided to make this a destination on my walk this week. I was surprised that this tremendous investment in recreation. Super location alongside the lake and adjacent Park. This is a carefully laid out and quite popular sports park. It’s well-maintained and well attended judging from the parking lot that were there.

The park itself is nice with shaded picnic areas with grills and places to park right next to them. There are also trails here, nice wide paved trails with wooden bridges that go next to the lake and connect to a larger trail system. Only word of caution, and certainly not a detriment, is that the trail here and throughout the system are multiuse, and people enjoy cycling here, so small children should be kept close at hand.

I love the awnings where you park and they have benches and grills. Would be nice if there were better access to the water other than through the woods and more sitting areas by the water. But a neat place to hang for a while, especially if you like to watch the airplanes coming in and out of the airport.

We stopped here for a quiet lunch and to kill a little time. It fit the bill, and that's about all. There are tables with shades, but the park could use some general maintenance, and the view isn't interesting.

Beautiful lakeside park within Oak Grove. Ample pic -nic spaces. Access to trails and shoreline fishing. Do you know about it’s infamous recent past?

Acorn Woods Park is the quintessential park when one thinks of woods. It is heavily wooded. There are a lot of canopied benches. There are a lot of nature trails to begin your quests on. Basically, it is woods defined. If you are an expert hiker and delve deeper into the Grapevine jungles, you will stumble upon a beautiful stream running across the woods. It is called Morehead Branch. It is a river sprouting off of Grapevine Lake. For fishers out there who happen to canoe - the running water underneath the Dove Road bridge can be ferocious, so please be located a little away from the bridge for safety measures. Acorns Woods Park is the place to be for those who enjoy nature in general.

Nice small park for a picnic. It has several gazebos to sit and enjoy a grilled meal There is also a trail connected nearby for a walk. This park is near Scott's Landing.

Great place to go for a walk or run. They even have a water fill station near Dove Loop to refill your water bottle.

Limited but convenient parking for the trail. Covered picnic benches. That's about the long and short of it.
