This is the worst 160.00 that I spent on myself. The staff is awesome. The service of food however is awful. It was almost an hour before drinks were received. I was in a group of twelve. This is the worst meal that I've had in years . Not a single person ordered dessert. If it wasn't for the great company this would definitely been an early night . The Octopus appetizer was Great

This place is amazing! This was my first time visiting and I'm glad we chose to eat here. I would say get here early if you don't have a reservation because it will get packed quickly. The host and hostess were great and accommodating and answering my questions. Our waitresses were very knowledgeable and her recommendations were spot on. My wife had the awesome Strauss Farm Lamb Chops and I had the Wild Mushroom and English Peas Risotto. We shared the House Made Charcuterie Board and a dessert that looked like a donut that wasn't a donut. The atmosphere was great and I think we had the best seats in the house. We sat near the bar in the nice big chairs. I would be back here and I recommend this place to anyone.

The food and service were all phenomenal. My glass never came close to empty all night long. Joseph our server was on point and brought us all the goods. The combination charcuterie board was amazing to peck on throughout the whole meal. We had steak (phenomenal), chicken (best I’ve ever had), lobster bisque and wedge salad both perfect, truffle fries, creamed corn, cocktails…everything was beyond perfect. They really took care of us. We honestly had no idea we were sitting down to a top 10 meal. We will be back. I chopped into the salad before I took a picture but it was pretty too, lots of high quality blue cheese.

Thank you to our fabulous waiter Brett for making our wedding meal unforgettable. Every staff member was professional & kind. The food was truly nothing short of amazing. My dad said it was the best steak he’s ever had. Thank you for making the perfect day even more special.

An amazing experience with delicious food! A bit pricey but still worth it. Our server Deb was extremely friendly a d made sure we had everything we needed. We were unsure if having our 2 young children in the restaurant would be a problem but they were so welcoming and even brought out fresh fruit for them as soon as we sat down. I recommend this place and ask for Deb!!!

Yes yes yes. The food was incredible. Our waiter was kind and attentive and it was pricy ( which I expected!!) This place exceeded my expectations for a steakhouse! The mushroom and pea risotto, Cesar salad, sea bass and lobster Mac n cheese. Heaven on earth!!!! I will say, choose your meals wisely because the only microwave is in the marketplace which closes in evening so unless you like eating cold leftovers….

Upscale steakhouse located within The Gaylord Texan Resort. Reservation recommended. Smoked Old fashioned good but pretty pricey at $22. Truffle fries $16, amazing. Lobster Mac $18, very good, and plenty of lobster. Asparagus $10, cooked perfectly salted just right with a touch of lemon. Wedge salad $12, was very good. My wife and I ended up splitting 20oz Cowboy Ribeye, $63, Oscar style,$20. There was plenty of food and staff was very polite and very helpful.

We went to old hickory to end our vacation on a high note. However we were disappointed with the food and experience. First lobster bisque was really good. But I ordered the Cowboy ribeye medium rare and it was definitely medium. Wanted to ask the server about it but after our food was delivered he never came back until it was time to pay. Never asked if we needed more drinks or if the food was ok. As far as taste the first bites of the ribeye cap was very good and tender. But as I got to main portion of the steak it wasn’t as tender and not nearly as flavorful as one would expect from a $60 steak (steak only.) My wife’s scallop entree was $42 and had 4 scallops. Four. The overall experience was what you’d expect from from your local chain steak restaurant. They left the bread plates and dirty silverware on the table while we ate. Nicer places will clean up the table before entrees are served. They will also want to make sure the experience is as enjoyable as possible. Make sure the food is to your liking and ask if you’d like another drink when yours goes empty. We won’t be back.

Five stars for the service…three and a half for the food…and three and a half for the ambience/decor Let’s start with the star of the evening, the servers and staff were impeccable. My goodness, they go out of their way to make sure that you are fully pleased with your evening. Your water glass is never empty, and our waiter Joseph was delightfully funny and engaging. He was very knowledgeable about all of the dishes and answered questions with ease. The food was good, don’t get me wrong, there were some stars there, as well. We had the truffle fries (very good,) the wedge salads (STELLAR,) the scallops (would 100% get them again,) the filet mignon (was pleasantly fine, but really not rave worthy,) the Billionaire Baked potato (honestly worth every penny,) and the crème brûlée (was the worst I’ve ever had anywhere…it was undercooked and runny, completely unpalatable.) The decor is hit and miss. I personally loved the water glasses, such a beautiful weight to them. But the recessed light fixtures are filthy. Visibly coated in dust, the chairs were tattered and worn, and even the restroom had paper peeling off of the wall. If I ever stay at the Gaylord Texan again…I would probably only go to this steakhouse, if I were absolutely road weary, and wanted to stay in for the night.

Had Christmas Eve dinner at Old Hickory and had a wonderful time. Service was impeccable, and the restaurant, while standard steakhouse fare, was delicious. The oysters in particular were exceptional. It is an expensive restaurant, but well worth it for a special occasion.

The steakhouse has impeccable service. You will definitely feel the upscale dining experience. For example, the waitstaff was so thoughtful. My friend and I ordered a 20 oz. Cowboy Steak to share, and he had the chef cut the steak into sharable portions. The steak was pretty good, but it wasn't medium well as requested. It was well done. The lobster Mac n Cheese was yummy while the white asparagus and purple broccoli was just okay. The bread at the beginning of the meal was a star: fluffy and golden. The mojito cocktail was tolerable, but all the drinks at the resort were a miss. Just drink wine. Verdict: I'd eat there again, but order my steak one temp up from my desired temp and skip the cocktail and broccoli.

Even with a lot of complex allergies, our server was spectacular and ensured our experience was fabulous. Can’t say how much that means when you’re traveling and worried about how to get good food that is also safe. Thank you!

This was my first time ever visiting Hickory Steakhouse, very interesting place. There is a Whiskey Bar above the restaurant, very upscale looking place, however, the service was lacking. No one even asked to help us. My Girlfriend and I had just finished a wonderful spa day at Relâche Spa & Salon at the Gaylord Convention Center where the Old Hickory Steakhouse restaurant is located. There is an elevator and a flight of stairs that lead to the Old Hickory Steakhouse downstairs. When we arrived the hostess had not started seating patrons yet. We were third in line. It took us about 35 minutes to get seated, not a big deal because the atmosphere was beautiful. Our waiter seemed nice but it was his helper that made me feel better, about the mistakes to come. I have never had a $100.00 (see picture of the first steak) Steak before, I ordered mine medium well, it came more bloody then it should have. No problem, they replaced it without question. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, and received, warm mac and cheese with no lobster. No Problem, again they replaced it with what we ordered. The food was awesome, but for $285.00 there should have never been any mistakes, especially ones that I had to wait for corrections to be made. I also want to let you guys know that we did not have Reservations. I say this so you can remember to make your reservations before coming. Also, do not forget to have them stamp your parking ticket.

This was a great steakhouse. Service positive. Top service I expect with gratuity included. I enjoyed the fillet mignon I had to try The billionaire baked potato with gold and caviar it was interesting. I was curious to see what a $34 potato was all about. Huh.. now I know. Desert tasty was over all good experience

15/10! Amazing experience at this upscale steakhouse! Visited the Gaylord Texan for NYE weekend with my man for a StayBaeCation. We had dinner here and it was everything. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu & was extremely attentive to our needs. The wait staff did amazing clearing the table in a timely manner for our next course. Now, the food… OMG, by far the best ribeye I’ve had in my life. It was buttery and cooked to perfection (medium). I also had the Lobster Bisque for appetizer and it was amazing. For sides, we had the lobster Mac & cheese (9/10), habanero corn (10/10), and the white asparagus & cauliflower (9/10), all were exceptional dishes. For dessert, we got the cheesecake to go but it was soooo good! Highly recommend, and will definitely be back! @MissMo2323

Good food but be prepared to pay for a traditional steakhouse experience in an already expensive resort. If you have money to spare then splurge. Tip: Their whiskey bar upstairs is a great way to whet your appetite and/or have a nightcap.

Ehhhh. I really wanted to like it. The service was perfect. The staff was so great. The ambience is good. The table bread was even better. The crab cake was 7/10. The macaroni and cheese lacked flavor and so did the broccolini. The lobster bisque just missed the queue. The dessert was delectable. We received it free for our anniversary.

A wonderful meat cave at the Gaylord Texan hotel. My wife brought me here for my birthday, and I really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and attentive, and made great recommendations. We got a charcuterie board, 44oz tomahawk steak, a few sides, and some wine. Everything was prepared perfectly with a wide selection of breads, salts, butters, etc. I also got a very tasty desert on the house at the end! Afterwards, walked around the wonderful Gaylord Texan hotel. A memorable Birthday thanks for Old Hickory Steakhouse. This restaurant isn’t cheap, but the experience is worth the price. Highly recommended. I’ll be back soon.

This year we came back for our 16th anniversary. We make it a tradition to eat here for our staycation. We've had the pleasure of having Bihn as our server multiple times. He's fabulous and very attentive. The whole staff is on top of everything. The food melted in our mouths and was cooked to perfection. The mixed drinks were delicious. It's a very intimate atmosphere. Cannot recommend it enough!

Wasn’t too fond of the brussel sprouts (undercooked and too sweet) but the ribeye steak with Diane sauce/mushrooms and whiskey chocolate cake and wedge salad were so delicious. Our server Bryan was the greatest. Drinks were delicious too

Amazing service. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and truly went above and beyond. Drinks, appetizers, and entrees were all phenomenal in taste and presentation. Even the bread, SO good. We had a wonderful dining experience from start to finish.

Absolutely excellent service from Debbie and Brian - seriously, fantastic customer service skills from these two. Very attentive, helped me with the menu, and I never had to ask for anything! Food was delicious - perfectly cooked filet - and as I couldn’t decide between sides, I was able to order half portions of the ones I wanted (thanks Debbie for the idea!). So good that I will be returning again within the same 3-day trip. 15/10.
