North Shore Trailhead

Tourist attraction Park

👍👍 Love this trail! This is designed more so for mountain biking, but you can still go for a hike. Be sure to watch out for bikers as they are going fast and you're in they're territory. This is a one way trail so always hike against bike traffic to make sure you see them coming. People often mention trail, trails, lake, hike, water,

Nice place for exploring. Only ended up doing part of the trail as it's much longer than it seems. Lots of critters, new growth, etc. Very pretty views. I will say the blaring music from the party boat hanging out in the cove was a bit annoying. Otherwise a decent trail

Loved this lake park. Very nice trails and beaches to cool off in the lake.

Beautiful park located at the shores of the Grapevine Lake. There's an entrance fee of $10 per car and it's open on Sundays until 7h40 pm. Families typically come here to do BBQs and the kids swim. There are extensive trails at the north end with different paths extending for over 20 miles where people can walk, run or bike. A suggestion to the staff is to do some cleaning at the south tip as I found litter in the woods and also close to the water.

Amazing for biking but hiking is tough with tons of bikers on move.

Offering a relaxing walk around the lake shore, the North Shore trailhead is one of a kind of the trails in the Dallas area. Lake wave sound plus some hill walking means a very decompressing and soothing spot to spend an afternoon.

Love this trail. I came to hike this trail 2nd time, and the weather was really nice (ideal weather is between 67 to 77). The trail offers a lot of loops and connects three parks Whether you decide to hike or choose to ride a bicycle (e-bike would be a great support), you will not be disappointed, there are greats views of lake from the trail and today we explored one of the best beach, it was a little difficult to access, despite going through bushes and a little rough terrain it was great experience and worth. Beach was really cleaned, but it was apparently not accessed by many but deers. Walking in the water was really fun, water was clean, little warm, and was giving cozy feelings

Love the trails! You can stay close to the water or go into the trees. Saw some beautiful birds and a lot of fish activity in the lake. There's a $5.00 charge per car, but it's well worth it. There are covered picnic areas with barbecue grills, kayaking, trails, and a small store on site.

Great MTB trail for beginners and advanced right riders. Fun features, lots of spots the trail intersects with service roads. Beautiful scenery.

Definitely one of my top 2 places to go hiking…(entrance is $10), but it was such a calm place to go to in the morning, especially hearing the waves of the lake. I love the trail close to the shoreline.

The North Shore Trailhead encompasses over 25+ miles of nature trails along the northern end of Grapevine Lake. Murrell Park and Rockledge Park are the best places to go to in order to hike on this trail, especially Rockledge Park. What you will experience hiking here are slopes, a lot of trees, shrubs, wildflowers, a distinct smell, a view of Grapevine Lake to your side, and maybe an armadillo or two. This is the only place in North Texas where will you have the most amount of space possible to hike and explore, and it will not disappoint you!

This place is absolutely breathtaking. When you hike the trails, some spots have a cliff overlooking the water way up high.🥰

When we visited Rockledge park we had a chance to walk around the North shore trailhead. It was really crowded. People were all near the shore sitting , barbecuing and swimming at the same time. The breeze gets stronger around this area. You might want to bring a blanket in case you feel chilly. Bring swim suits, sandals, towels to enjoy the water. Extra clothes are also needed. If you have a canopy or a big umbrella,it will make it comfortable for you to stay under the sun. People were skiing here so if you have one you might want to bring yours otherwise you can rent here at the entrance of the park. Barbecue is allowed, entrance is 20$ during the holidays season 10$ on regular days.

Grapevine lake is a pretty spot! We took the Northshore Trail 1, on foot! It was a nice trail, half of the trail sidetracks the road and some parts across the lake view, which is quite spectacular. Overall a good experience for a Saturday morning trail. Stay mindful of the cyclist’s and give way! ☺️

Close to Dallas this is the most managed and refreshing place to do a short hiking as well as long cycling. Will give you a feel of beach inside the DFW. Diving and swimming spots are also awesome and short walk to the trials which will give you a feel of dense tropical forest is awesome

I love this place. I'm much easier ride than sansom Park. Just make sure you had the right direction. Has enough hills to keep it interesting. Certainly no big climbs though. But it's a great place to ride in the mornings

Great trail! Rode this while on vacation from Illinois over winter break while in the DFW area visiting family.
