We were hiking in Colfax and by mistake found Diego's online not realizing it was about half hour out of our route, but let me tell you, it was worth it, the food reminds me from the ones I had in South America, no kidding, delicious with a hint of home made, the restaurant is small with a great decoration, makes you feel for a bit you are in small town in Chile or Argentina, even the soda was so good. The service is great and the restroom has a comfy chair for you to seat if you need to wait when you go wash your hands, but even in there the decor is beautifully done. Great place, go to Grass Valley, go to Diego's, I cant recommend enough and definitely will be back.

We LOVE Diego’s! From eclectic decor to the friendly staff to the delicious food - we love it all! The Hist, Max, is awesome and always so positive and friendly. The servers are always kind and attentive. Our favorite dishes are the Panqueque and the Flat Iron Steak - but have had lots of other great dishes, as well. Oh, and be sure to save room for the BBQ Banana at the end. I don’t really care for bananas, but when they’re grilled in their skin they get gooey and caramelized. Topped with ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce and you won’t be sorry! Highly recommend!!

Went to visit Empire Mine State Park and was looking a place nearby. This is a quick 5-10 minutes drive from the park. It’s a cute little small restaurant. There is mainly street parking and doesn’t seem like there’s a specific parking lot. We were quickly greeted right away upon arrival and seated. They brought out bread to start of us off and my that was some really good bread. It was both soft and warm. Very delicious. I would suggest ordering the sunrise lemonade as well, very refreshing! I ordered the mushroom dish, and oh my, it was delicious! This place would be great for vegetarians and meat eaters as well. The options and possibility caters to all without skimping out on flavors.

Hands downs our favorite spot in Grass Valley. The food and drinks are always amazing with large portions and the most delish bread you’ll ever have…don’t skip the butter and cilantro 🌿!! The chicken enchiladas and taquitos are my go tos and if you’re lucky they’ll have molè on special. The fries are so yum. Service is top notch too. Thanks Diego’s!!

Delicious, unique food! We had the sunset lemonade, steak Panqueque, and the cooked banana dessert. The Chilean caramel sauce is amazing!

Cute little restaurant with nice outdoor seating. I ordered a panqueque, (like a burrito), which was tasty, but it was just above luke warm. The plate it was served on, usually hot, was not. Good service/staff. As a side note, the dark bathroom needs a light coat of paint!

The food is very good! It’s pricey however the portions are huge. I highly recommend the chips and guacamole and the pupusas for appetizers. My boyfriend had the lamb antichuchos and he loved it. I got the crab relleno and it was a bit too heavy for me. The taste of the crab mixture in the relleno was reminiscent to Buffalo chicken dip—but with crab, in my opinion.

Was in Grass Valley and saw the interesting dishes here so decided to try it and it didn’t disappoint. They immediately brought out fresh rolls with an herb flavored butter and a herb oil sauce. So good! I decided to try the grilled lamb skewers with cilantro sauce—the lamb was grilled perfectly, great grilled flavor and all the sauces were superb. Also had to try and black bean and cheese fried pupusa (totally different taste than El Salvadoran pupusas but still very interesting, crispy and with a very delicious slaw. Definitely try this place. I’ll be back (maybe tomorrow even though it’s 45 minutes away-ha!)

My all time favorite restaurant in Grass Valley, amazing staff amazing food that is always fresh and delicious. Also have met the owner and they are extremely kind and took the time to talk to me and thanked me for coming in. Everything on the menu is delicious and instead of chips and salsa they bring fresh warm bread with garlic butter and salsa. The atmosphere is friendly, the music is always on point. Recommend this place to anyone who wants great food at a great price.

We've been here twice now and each time was a fantastic experience. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is super chill. They will have live music sometimes and it's always very pleasant and unobtrusive. The last time I went there was a customer who was being abusive towards one of the waitresses. In response one of the managers came out and told him that they were refusing him service and asked him to leave. Absolute standup move on the part of the restaurant. Keep up the great work!

**MUST VISIT** Amazing little gem of the foothills, despite living here for 30 years this was my first visit to this local fave. Been hearing wonderful things and finally made the trip in. Beautiful little location just outside of downtown Grass Valley (walking distance) sits this wonderful eclectic Latin inspired eatery with a nice little outdoor patio. Get there early if you want a seat outside or make a reservation. (OK full disclosure June and I went to high school together and I think we even went snowboarding once, so take this review with a little 30 year ago bias). Hostess was super friendly and prompt and despite not having a reservation she gladly sat me outside. I ordered the sunrise lemonade which came in a quaint mason jar and was exquisitely delicious, I highly recommend this. After perusing the vast menu of Latin inspired foods I settled on the Panqueque Especial. A massive burrito sized crêpe smothered in cheese and guacamole, and inside an amazing blend of Chilean spices, rice, and house-made, ground chorizo pork with grilled pineapple. Served with a little side of sautéed vegetables there was more than I could finish. I will definitely be back, and you will too.

Pretty good Mexican food. It was really busy the night we were there so service was slow and so-so. It was a hot day, and we were seated outside next to a sheet metal panel that was radiating heat like crazy. Don't sit there!
