Just visited Butera in Grayslake… this is about the cashier Alexander working the number 3 register. He apparently thinks that it my job to bag my groceries. When I told him my groceries were not bagged he said “well there’s bags there” and I told him umm excuse me this isn’t self service and it’s not my job… he didn’t like it he must have done the same thing to many others and they bagged their own groceries. It wasn’t busy and the only person behind me was putting their groceries on the belt.

I’ve given this place chance after chance because it’s so convenient because of the location. Y’all should stop selling rotting meat. I’ve bought over 5 packs of rotten meat from this store on separate occasions, and I mean the smell is sickening. Do something about it, you need to be reported.

Some good prices on ad items, high prices on most everything else. Store wasn't very stocked for the middle of the day on a Friday. They were stocking in some areas making it hard to get down the aisles. A few of the sale items were sold out or almost sold out even though the sale started 2 days before. This really isn't my go-to place for shopping. On a side note the produce and deli area's were clean and nice and the produce looked good.

Butera - formerly Piggly Wiggly is a great local grocery store offering value for the customers. They stock products that might be out of stock at Jewel or Meijer like a wide selection of LaCroix or breakfast items

I stop here every time I pass through Grayslake. It's a small but full-service store, with quite a few world market foods, especially Mexican cuisine. Friendly staff. Checkouts are never a long wait.

1 of my favorite grocery stores that have the best meat specials

I am handicapped and I can only shop with an electric cart. I went to the store today and they had only one cart which was not available and they had no idea where it was. Unfortunately if this continues I’m going to have to shop at Jewel.

Good produce and deli. Meat is dodgy. Fish market stinks, not a good sign. Bakery items are often stale

Love to pick up sale items that are our favorites. They're always gone when I get there. Wondering if they really have the items on sale?

I’m here a few times a week! The store is always clean and well kept. They have great sales on different things every week. Definitely worth the visit!

Love it. Good deals. ... Be careful buying the "marinated meat on sale" down by the meat isle, in open coolers, though! They mask rotten pork and beef with a marinade, and sell it for $1-2 dollars a pound! I bought it a couple of times, and when I came home and tore the plastic from the package - almost vomited from the god awful stench of rotting meat in it! Even the marinade didn't mask it! (*Some day the health department will have their butts in serious trouble for doing this!)

So this was really my first time purchasing anything at this store I called First and asked if they had honey roasted turkey breast because every place else is out. Well they have a ton! But the young lady was really working herself and there were three people in line and nobody to help her, so the manager went to figure out what was going on turns out the guy was throwing out the trash. I get it you got to do what you got to do but people are the priority especially on a Sunday afternoon just saying 😁 but otherwise the prices are pretty good I'd come back but I would phone first maybe place my order over the phone 😉 I will say though the young man with the attitude The Manager was not very helpful at all and was displeased that I seem to bother him from whatever he was doing, he was just very unpleasant 😕

Everything is good here except self checkouts. If you have more than 10 items, do not use self checkout. The.bags can’t be removed until purchase is done or it blocks the scanning functions.

While the dry goods, fruits and vegetables are fantastic I have not had much luck with their meats.

Went to Butera Market today and the people were so friendly. From the customers to the workers. The guy in the deli was the best. Took care of my needs and had very accurate weights. While waiting for him t on finish, the girl working the deli also wanted to help if I needed anything else. Very clean and everything seemed as fresh as can be. Told me about the sales and everything was easy to find. I will be back. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

They sell expired food. Please check the expiration date before buying!

The girl at the Deli Dept was very rude she felt we had ordered enough and would not finish the order. " The nice man stepped in to finish the order. Wow time for this young woman needs a new job!!!!.

Unfortunately, I visited the location in Grayslake, and the staff were extremely rude. There were multiple people waiting in line to check out, and the two cashiers available were talking and ignoring the line. After they finished their conversation, they started checking out the person in front of me, and yet when I got to the front of the line, the cashier refused to check me out! I had 3 items, and there was no one behind me, yet he made me go into the other checkout lane where the other employee was working. The other man, Zach as his nametag read, was incredibly rude to me, rolling his eyes, making snark comments, and having an unpleasant demeanor in general. Once I was checked out the man who refused to see me not 2 minutes before opened his lane to 2 male customers who were waiting, and had at least 5x the items I did. very dissatisfied, the only redeeming quality is that they have reasonably priced items. the jewel, while more expensive, was a much better experience. Would not come here again.
