Stayed at the premiere inn next door, the dinner/breakfast is provided by this place. Waiters are excellent and polite, but the kitchen must be run by someone who is very inexperienced. Long waits for food. The wings I ordered for starter at dinner were cold in the middle. Sent them back and recieved better ones, but other than that there was no apology from the manager/chef. Waited longer for mains, which looked very sad. Similar story for breakfast. Very expensive for food I wouldn't be happy giving to anyone. Literally only redeeming points is the building itself and the waiters.

Lovely premier inn Greeted with a smile by staff and immediately felt at home and part of the family. Rooms were clean and tidy . Premier inn is in great location , not far from. Chester Town centre, or Cheshire oaks designer village. Bus stop right outside premier inn takes you into chester if you don't drive. Lovely food and breakfast next door in the brewers fayre pub. Def worth a visit

Stayed 3 nights whilst visiting Chester. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Very cold one night and our heating wasn't working so spent a cold night huddled under 2 duvets. Reported the fault to reception in the morning but they didn't seem interested. There is a reasonable Brewers Fayre next door so handy for food/drink.

Looking at reviews the hotel side has good ratings and the eating side so so. My experience was obviously down to the room which in my case was 35. As soon as you enter the room a horrible smell of Damp mould hits you, the room was tired and at the end of its life needed a lot of TLC. The bed as you would expect was good, the 3 young receptionist's were 10 out of 10 very cheerful, helpful and welcoming., The shower wasn't good at all, stuck in position. Christmas day the breakfast was cooked to order and was 10 out of 10, however boxing Day there must have been more people so it was buffet. Obviously energy cut's because the food was tepid at best and by the time you sat down it was cold so 1 out of 10. I used to always book into premier Inn first but now I would try elsewhere first and the price was more expensive. So for me personally I was very disappointed even down to purchasing bottle of water from machine at nearly £3 would have been ok if it was nice and cold but it was tepid so obviously the thermostat must be set to save energy not chill the drinks

Not a bad hotel , free parking , good sized room and not to busy Restaurant for the hotel is the brewers fayre across the road which is not to far at all. Had a radiator and fan available for use in rooms and the window looked right onto the car park for peace of mind.

No air conditioning. The room was so hot I felt like I was going to pass out. The token fan in the room did nothing other than move the hot air around. This is not a cheaply priced hotel so the lack of aircon is more than a frustration. Hotel itself is clean but tired and long overdue a refresh. Overall the room and particularly the lack of aircon was a big problem and I wish I never booked here. My advice is to stay somewhere else unless you like unbearable heat and tired rooms

I regularly stay at Premier inns but I don’t think I’ll stay at this one again- I was woken every night by the guests in the room above walking across the creaky floor! There’s no lift and no AC so be warned. Food stains on the bed frame, sofa bed and carpet! The whole place needs a refurb.

I stayed here with my 2children, it’s a great location and staff were very friendly. The beds are very comfortable and clean. The only downside was that the room was too hot 27 degrees even with the window open and the fan on full blast. I know there’s not much they can do about this apart from having air con. All in all though a lovely hotel.

Was exactly what you would expect room wise. The room itself was far too hot the temperature sensor in the room came up at 28° and the fan supplied didnt do anything to cool it down. Rooms are not serviced during the day which would have been ok if we were informed on arrival. The bathroom mirror was covered in lint which was only noticable after taking a shower. The reception staff were lovely though and gave us more supplies when we asked

Great hotel, clean fresh as always expected and provided by a Premier Inn. The chap that booked us in the prior night was in a world of his own at times but everyone was kind and friendly. The connected Brewers fayre was also fantastic was a lovely surprise to see a indoor soft play area, kept the little one busy and entertained. The food was great and a bargain if you opt for the meal deal stay. Breakfast was fantastic too lots of variety. Nice access to the Ice Cream Farm and local attractions.

I travel a lot for work, and find premier inn more than adequate for my needs. Clean modern rooms, comfortable beds and (for a small fee) fast WiFi. This hotel has all of these as usual. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the reviews citing the rooms being too hot and too noisy are correct. Obviously beyond the control of the management, who are doing their best with the limitations of the building but I won't be staying here again. Also be warned the hotel's attached restaurant/pub is like many places at the moment struggling for staff. They are unable to operate at full capacity. The staff they do have were friendly and enthusiastic, but inexperienced and made a few mistakes. Booking is essential, and I overheard some other guests unable to secure a table for the night even though it was only 6pm.

Rooms are the usual standard. Staff were friendly. I had a "chattering" power card slot in the room which was annoying but luckily it didn't make a noise during the night. Informed the staff and they were going to deal with it. If anything, the place is let down by association with the pub next door which has dreadful service and for that reason I wouldn't stay again. Be warned.

Can't fault the staff. Hotel was a bit worn in places and on arrival a smell in the corridors, not sure what but it wasn't but wasn't a clean smell. Temperature was too much in the rooms and I struggled with having asthma and had to sleep in the child's bed to be near the window. It was that warm I slept with no quilt on the bed.

Booked last minute as our previous reservation at a different place was a complete nightmare. On arrival staff were friendly and welcoming, the whole place felt clean and covid friendly. We had an access room as that was all they had available but room was clean, bed was comfortable and shower was good. Toby next door does really nice food as we had dinner there twice.

Stayed here over a weekend whilst working away got there late settled into room and all I heard all night was doors shutting constantly bang bang people in each others room shouting and laughing. I complained at 3 am the chap apologised and told me they had 3 stag dos in but this is a chain that prides it self on a good night's sleep I did not get this at all. Drunks allowed to run up and down the corridors all night

After 4 weeks here I’m glad to be moving on. Every single night the rooms were sweltering, 28 degrees plus, fans supplied which were always covered in an inch of dust on the blades and never seemed to do much. The reception staff were fantastic and this review isn’t aimed at them. Room cleanliness left a bit to be desired. 2 rooms I were in had brown stains on the toilet seat, either underneath or on the side, as mentioned earlier the fans were absolutely caked in dust, the toilet roll dispenser wasn’t filled on my last week upon arrival, and the extractor fans never worked in the bathroom. Beds comfy, but creaky, tv and lights worked fine. The pub next door can only be described poorly, very long service if you can get booked in, attempted it on the first night didn’t return. Amazon locker in the foyer which was very handy, vending machines but £2 for a bottle of water is expensive. I’d like to thank the staff for being so welcoming and friendly, but Premier Inn really need to spend some money on this place.

Great location. Clean and tidy rooms. Quiet location but central if you want to go into the City. Large car park for the duration of your stay. A cab from hotel to Chester city centre is approx £6-8. There is a pub/eatery right next door which is very convenient. Would recommend as a place to stay.

Lovely comfortable beds. Twin room, beds were large. Large TV. Rooms aren't very soundproof; could hear the children next door. Staff were ok. Restaurant next door wasn't nice, I'm sorry to say. The tables were sticky. Food only OK. Breakfast was lukewarm. Didn't like the sausages. Staff were pleasant though.

I stay at Premier Inn regularly, this one wasn't enjoyable, hot weather made it unbearable, the fan in the room does nothing at all (wish i had bought my own from home, more powerful!), my daughter had to go and ask for another one, I was on the verge of passing out! Breakfast wasn't the best, dried up hash browns, chewy mushrooms and scrambled egg was still runny. I wouldn't stay here again. The only good thing I would say is the play area attached to the restaurant as we don't see many of these in our travels. My 2 boys enjoyed a few hours in here whilst waiting for food. (Ages 8 and 11)

Was a great premier inn, not servicing rooms at the moment but were quick to replenish anything when asked. A twirl of hay (the pub joint to it) had a limited menu the first night we stayed and a few breakfast items missing but on our 2nd morning everything was there. Jade our server at breakfast was very welcoming and attentive. She was lovely and helpful. An overall good stay.

Easy to get to, lots of parking, clean rooms and very close to the centre. If you’re looking to go to the zoo, it is very close by (12 minutes in the car).

Omg what a disgusting disgrace this place should be closed down…. Rooms damp as heating set at 22 when it was -4 -6 outside freezing room’s condensation in the windows and bathroom due to room temperature. Hole room shakes when others guests leave or enter their room. The hole building was freezing. Showers not fit for purpose. I am a truck driver and have had better showers on the road on in public services. No pressure what so ever I had it on full power and full heat and was able to stand there. Barely enough pressure to wash soap off doubt your get shampoo out your hair if it was long. My bet this was an old travel lodge this is the feel u get in hear no way near premier inn normal standard. Save yourself the disappointment dont stay here. Also I got bitten to by what I would assume was a bed bug. Old showers old carpets old building only upgrade I see is the bed and tv everything else is ready for the bin… also no usb not even 1 so don’t forget your charger plug

I read some of most recent reviews and wonder if they stayed at the same hotel. I wouldn't say the Brewers Fayre next door is looking tired at all. All staff hard working and polite. Thanks for a nice stay 👍

The rooms are clean and spacious with everything you need for the night. Breakfast was delicious with a wide choice. The only thing was the third bed was hard and uncomfortable to sleep on other than that everything was excellent

Premier inns are no longer cheap, however they can be good value in today's market, unfortunately this hotel fell below par. I dont accept that booking a room in a cheap hotel would mean that you have to stay in a dirty room. The carpet from the front door and into our room was very dirty. Our room had that sweet sickly smell of old sweat, they had tried to mask it with air freshener that hit the back of your throat when you first walked into the room. The toilet sit was very old and badly stained with pee. We stayed in room 33. We were disappointed with this hotel and would like to remind them that value hotels should not be dirty hotels!

Your usual premier inn comfy beds and a very good price especially when purchased with the meal deal! Nice big family rooms and friendly staff on reception. Also crayons and drawings to colour in for kids to grab at reception great! Great location for Chester zoo just up the road!

We booked 2 family rooms for a one night stay. When arrived we where short a bed in each room, they couldn't move us to another room due to it been full. My husband then asked for a duvet as only option was to make a bed up on the floor after words of disappointment we managed to get a pull out bet yet still short of a bed in the other room. Also we had small children and with been placed on the first floor a member of staff then knocked at the door at 8.45pm regarding a noise complaint as children where banging. Yet this would not of happened if we where placed in the room we actually paid for.

This is a really good hotel and it was very good stay. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. We had a really nice sleep. The hotel in really good location and not to far from main road to get to places. The staff were friendly. There is plenty of parking. Would recommend. Plenty to see and do locally.

Could do with an upgrade. Not impressed with cleanliness of passageways. No lift and shower head needed replacing. Wouldn't stay here again, a two star Premier inn.

  • 1/5 perry m. 7 months ago on Google
No air conditioning, can't open the windows enough to get fresh air or cool the rooms down. No spare fans, bad smells, poor cleanliness, received bites from bed bugs. The restaurant lost my food ticket and didn't tell me for over an hour.

First time staying in a Premier Inn Budget friendly but budget standard. Adequate for cost. No iron available - big draw back when travelling for business staff were apologetic, and if I had waited for a return, they would have given, but all were in room use.

  • 4/5 Matt A. 1 year ago on Google
it's a perfectly good Premier Inn and meets the standards that you'd expect. i didn't leave 5* because in fairness, it isn't as nice as some of the more modern Premier Inn hotels. but it's certainly not as bad as some of the shabbier ones and we had no complaints whatsoever...some of the reviews on here seem bizarrely bad. the staff were lovely and the room was clean and comfortable. the car park is pretty small but i was able to park both times. and the location is good - ideal by car and roughly 35-40 min walk to the city centre. overall, a good solid stay - particularly for business.

  • 3/5 Thomas S. 1 year ago on Google
Not the best one in Chester. But it is a personal rate. Some staff guys are so professional and nice, so helpful. The day after you almost want to leave. It is so far from the town center. For my colleague who used to go next door for their meal it is a disaster. Always full. Long time to wait to being served.

  • 3/5 bob s. 1 year ago on Google
Good location, supermarket opposite and bus stops outside with bus into city every half hour or so. Car park not quite big enough for a busy night. Building looks new but feels older inside with squeaky floorboards everywhere, creaking doors and dated rooms. Bathroom of the usual poor design and was a bit scruffy and worn out in places but very clean as always. Friendly staff always on hand willing to help with any issues. Stayed twice, happy to go back for the right price.

We were at the hotel for a weekend in September and during the night it dropped cold, the heating didn’t work but due to being tired we just put another layer on like us British do. It wasn’t a great sleep and when I checked in the morning a battery had been removed, the same for 3 other rooms our friends were using. We mentioned to staff in the morning who said we would look into it. I wrote a email just to let them know of the problem as I use premier inn alot, I had a reply but there was no explanation just sorry it’s 7 days after your visit and you can’t have a refund!! I never wanted one just an explanation why they remove batteries so customers can’t have heating on!! Poor customer service, just wanted an explanation. Very very poor from premier in.

We've stayed here twice now and it's decent enough and easy to get to and there is parking. Second time we stayed though our room and all the corridors were filled with weed smoke from outside which wasn't great. I wouldn't have minded getting stoned but I had 3 kids with me and it's probably not great for them yet at the ages of 8, 5 & 3.

Room was tidy and the spec you come to expect from Premier Inn. There is a pub across the way to grab dinner/breakfast which is fab. Unfortunately we stayed there in summer and the room was insanely hot! We hadnone oscillating fan in our family room which just wafted the hot air around the room. The window barely opened so we all god zero sleep. Literally lay there sweating. At one point i had to go stand outsidento get some fresh air and noticed that the reception appeared to have air conditioning as it was nice and cool. I ended up sleeping in my car for a bit as i had a long drive the next day. Not ideal. I understand that this is England and that it's not known for its balmy weather but if the windows cannot be opened properly then one miserable fan simply does not cut it
