Amazing time with family! The hosts were warm and welcoming and provided excellent service . From the most delicious food, clean rooms, cleaning services available all day, fresh baked farm bread . I will go back any day!

This was an amazing experience! My wife, 11 month old daughter and I made an impromptu visit to this beautiful game reserve. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and the service delivered by Theon, his parents (Hendrick and Annaline), the support Staff/guides (Captain, Awie and Sakosa) was impeccable. We initially intended to only stay one night but ultimately stayed three days. The property is beautiful beyond words. (Beware Wharthog burrows and giraffe fence post holes in the ground when you’re walking in the bush - both potential hiking hazards that I was naive to before Theon educated me). This was an experience that we hope to share with our friends and family again in the future. We highly recommend this wonderful experience ❤️

We had the most incredible ladies hunting weekend at Matola Private Game Reserve. Taking home 4 beautiful animals and a lifetime of memories. The upgrades done from the original lodge are stunning and they even added the most gorgeous wedding venue!! The food was to die for and the owners and staff are all such lovely people. Impressed is an understatement 🏆🌟

The most amazing and beautiful game reserve yet! The friendliest staff who go out of their way to prepare and amazing experience for you. Went in July for my boyfriend's birthday and they set up an amazing dinner for two and the game drive was highly enjoyable!! Thank you very much, I highly recommend this game reserve!!

Fantastic weekend getaway! This is a family owned and run game reserve and the warm and welcoming Willemse family will go out of their way to make your stay as memorable and special as possible. The food is absolutely delicious, the beds are super comfy and the views are spectacular! Theon, Skosana and Kaptein, you are absolute legends! Thank you sooooooooo much for all your patience and hard work in making my 10 year old son's first ever hunting trip an experience that he will treasure for the rest of his life! We hope to see you again soon!

Positioned just 10km off the main road starting 10km out of Komga this venue is amazing. The setting and view from the thatch cottages is stunning. The central entertainment area is very well equipped with pub, games room, kitchen and lounge area as well as being conveniently located close to all 6 thatch cottages. The animal population is huge with over 70 Giraffe alone. We walked extensively encountering animals everywhere. With no 4x4 we were not able to explore the many trails but no doubt they would be in keeping with the high standards that prevailed throughout. Mountain bikers would have a ball here. Management and staff were first class. This venue is a gem and we would have loved to stay longer. We were served an excellent dinner and provided with tasty take away breakfast packs for our early start Its a perfect stopover if you are travelling from Durban to the Cape.

Our group of 16 went on a work team-building outing. Stayed in the tents which was a wonderful experience. Extremely clean, neat and tidy. Nothing was lacking. The hospitality was excellent. I would recommend Matola whole heartedly. You won't be disappointed.

Matola Private Game Reserve is absolutely spectacular. Stunning views. Peaceful. There is a selection of comfortable accommodation to choose. Tented camp, chalets and a big venue. We stayed at the chalets. Its got a cozy communal entertainment area with a big fully equipped kitchen and scullery. Playroom with pool table. Big fire place inside and outside. Bar area. A patio that leads onto a big lawned space and swimming pool. There are x6 chalets surrounding the communal area. Its great for hiking and cycling. Lots of Game to see. This is not a hunting farm so the game is very relaxed. Game drives at sundown is amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

This is one of the most beautiful lodges I've visited in South Africa.

I can honestly not say enough good things about this establishment. The scenery is exquisite with plenty of wildlife close by. We were greeted by 2 beautiful horses on arrival. Throughout the evening the sound of the bushveld and giraffes in the morning was absolutely amazing. The hospitality was also exceptional. We felt very welcome and enjoyed every moment of our stay. If any complaint I do have is there is simply too much value for money. Honestly I would of been happy to of payed more for such an amazing experience and hospitality. The rooms were also very well kept, clean, neat and practical. 10 out 10 would highly recommend anytime.

What an amazing place. Attended a wedding there and spent an additional night. The staff are wonderful, the food was outstanding and the venue and location are stunning. Well worth a visit. I have attached the view from our lodge.

An excellent accommodation with a very homely feel. It is family run and one can tell that they care about the place as well as their clients staying there. Would highly recommend whether overnight or for a longer stay.

We visited matola game reserve on the 18-20 Nov 2022 and had a good time. The hospitality we received, breakfast in bed. Clean sleeping sheds and we looking forward for the next visit.

Awesome place. Views and the wildlife are amazing. Cabins were clean and well maintained. Service was very friendly too. Perfect place to stopover if you driving down to anywhere along the Garden Route from Durban, or even to stay for a weekend or longer. Very relaxing.

Such a lovely place. Me and my wife had our wedding at their new wedding venue. Everything was beyond perfectly done. Food, accommodation and overall experience was just amazing. The people that work there are very very friendly and very helpful. Thank you Matola team for making our dreams come true you guys are champions. I would recommend any and everyday!

Wish we could have stayed longer! A beautiful scenery and luxurious tented housing. Loved it here. Be sure not to miss the beautiful sunrises
