If you’re looking to spend a day (or two) in a serene, quiet spot then Bribie Island is the place. The beach area is only accessible through by a 4x4 and you’ll need to bring your own provisions. There is a shopping centre but not near the beach so make sure you’re fully stocked. You’ll need a beach permit if you’re going for a day and an additional camping permit if you’re thinking about spending the night. Both are available through the Bribie Island website. Also look up No Limits 4x4 hire if you don’t have your own as they specialise in trucks that get you into the off roading spirit. No toilets, no power and no camping sites. Just miles and miles of beach, sea and sun.

Great shady spot to stop and air down before hitting the beach. Large notice board with map of the beach area as well as notices about closed areas of the beach. Access track itself is quite soft so make sure you are in 4wd before setting in. I have a 2 inch lift and cleared it well. The beach itself was great to drive along just keep an eye out for kids and watch out for and slow down at the water crossings.

Great spot! Beach pass around 160 for the year or 50 bucks a week. Plenty of camp sites. The ride in is a bit choppy but well worth it. Don't forget to let tyres down plus snatch snap and recovery boards just in case 👌

Great place to take your 4x4, entry track is a bit rough but you'll make it if you drop you tyre pressure. it's a good swim, waves are great, waters great nice place to see the old bunkers (or what's left of them) All in all a great spot for the weekend if you're a local.

Always my favourite spot to take kids for holiday but don’t drive AWD or Subaru Forrest Toyota RAV4 kind of SUV. 4wd means 4WD

A wide concrete track through the natural scrub of the sand dunes. Historical interest of WW11 fortifications and 'Bribie Stonehenge' with new exercise equipment for all ages.

Make sure you air down, gear up and enjoy a great day. Have been before when beach was narrow, tide sensitive, but this time was awesome

Unfortunately, we didn’t make it through the beach access as the sand was too soft and many vehicles were bogged. We have a jeep! There was a long line both in and out. We had to turn around as the vehicles in front were pulling each other out of the sand. Both directions were trapped :(

Put a drive along Bribie Island's 4wd beach on your to do list! The entrance track can get a little cut up, but I've never found it too bad. The lagoons along the drive make it all worth it, the perfect places to stop and have some fun in the sun. Run the whole way to the other end to find forts and gun emplacements from WWII. Great outing for all ages.

Beautiful Island with amazing beach driving routes. Family and friends had a wonderful day relaxing on the beach and swimming in the Coral sea.

Great place to go for a break. Depending on when you go it can be very busy. There are several lagoons which are great for the kids. No toilets on the beach and no dogs allowed once you are driving up the beach

Beautiful section of beach and generally have the place to yourself during the week.

Fun times, track is a little difficult to gauge sometimes due to the weather. Make sure you buy your beach access permit if you are 4W Driving. Can get this at the newsagency at Woorim.

Beautiful area. Lots of fun in a 4wd

  • 1/5 Joanna C. 1 year ago on Google
The site was quite basic. There are only 6 sites and the 6th one is the largest. Two guys occupied our site (No. 2) and refused to move to the site 3. They did pay but took a wrong day and claimed they were drunk. They also said the Ranger told him to stay freely. We had 5 vehicles and had to use the No. 1 site because the No. 2 site was in the middle of No. 1 and No. 3. There was no toilet and no falicities. The view was alright but we won't go back this site again. Do not pick this spot if you are coming in group because people can appear wild here.

Great drive, great beach with some nice secluded spots

  • 5/5 Ben R. 1 year ago on Google
Really great place to take the kids for a day trip, can be challenging if the sand is very soft and fluffy but if you air down and take it easy then most soft readers will get through

  • 5/5 Jacob B. 1 year ago on Google
My family loves coming here for a play in the lagoons and building sandcastles. The drive is always fun, never too hard but gets chopped up because it's popular.

Can be quite chaotic on this track, especially on weekends. Often vehicles are bogged and block the access until they get themselves out. Go with Gday Adventure Tours as they know how to navigate these tracks.

  • 5/5 Dries V. 1 year ago on Google
Spent the day with they family at the lagoon there. It was wonderful we had such a great time. You do need a 4x4 and a permit to access the beach.

  • 5/5 Adam L. 10 months ago on Google
Excellent. have a go, but don't forget to let your tyres down to about 15 psi and take Max tracks and a snatch strap just in case. Most of all, watch out for kids on the beach and have fun

  • 4/5 Dee B. 1 year ago on Google
Great place to visit and possibly camp if you're up for it. You do need 4WD and the ability to reduce tyre pressure. There needs to be an option for a day pass for vehicles as you can only buy a week long pass and at $53, it is a bit steep.

My first time on Bribie Beach with my 2010 Mitsubishi Triton GLXR. It is stock standard and only just made it onto the beach as I was pretty heavily laden with camping gear. I did drop my tyre pressure to 18psi and got through ok. Just something to consider. Once on the beach I was all good.

The 4x4 gets you up north along the beach; clear track. It's attractive but you're rarely alone. So +'s and -'s. As it gets more popular, the great the risk for vehicle damage to the environment. Might be more appealing in winter to early spring? Quiet, and recovery.

  • 5/5 Jacob A. 10 months ago on Google
Great and short 4x4 Track with great chances of getting bogged. Super soft sand most year round :)

  • 1/5 Julissa W. 9 months ago on Google
We got bogged, so many cars were getting bogged today . The track needs to be maintained. Even big monster trucks were struggling to get through. If they charge money to get a permit, they should maintain the tracks.

Great family day trip ! Just go early so to miss the mad rush of traffic

  • 5/5 Daniel L. 7 months ago on Google
Love this place. Once you get through the inland track, you have access to your own private paradise. Drive all the way down the beach to visit the old WWI bunkers along the dunes that protected Brisbane a hundred years ago.

One of the nicest 4x4 drives, just need to be mindful at the entrance and exit on the beach

  • 4/5 Chris H. 3 years ago on Google
This is probably the roughest bit of the entire Bribie beach track so don't be put off if the sand seems a bit deep. Loved the entire Bribie beach experience.

Pretty good track after rain lots of ruts in peak times school holiday but still very drivable for someone who is new to 4wd

  • 5/5 Cam M. 4 years ago on Google
Good bouncy sandy fun. I've seen many a "soccer-mom"-4wd get bogged through here so take it easy, and BYO recovery equipment.

The beach itself is great and easy driving anytime outside of high tide. It is busy though because Bribi is so close to the cities. The access track is severely chopped up at the moment with deep ruts and soft sand. It is about a kilometre long and is going to bounce you around a bit. My vehicle bottomed out on the sand most of the way. But with 15psi and a bit of momentum it went through with no dramas.

  • 5/5 EDawg O. 3 years ago on Google
It is a fun sand track. It's pretty wide and bumpy.
