We lived here many years ago & went back to celebrate our anniversary. We were in awe as to how much the island has grown! So many houses, so many shops, so many people. We stayed for a week & visited all the places we went to when we lived there. It was a beautiful โ€œtrip down Memory Laneโ€. We stayed in Woorim. We had the beach to ourselves on a number of occasions & were even treated to a couple of pods of dolphins fishing in the shallow waters! Certainly is a must-see, must-stay & must-go to place.

Canโ€™t beat bribie island beach for ease of access. One hour from Brisbane, two from the Gold Coast. Grab a vehicle pass online and access the beach from the track at Woorim. The access track is very soft sand but no problem if you pick your lines right. Plenty of space to park up against the dunes for a day trip or head up to ocean beach to camp for a few nights. Several lagoons to check out along the island, and some old World War Two structures to show the kids at the northern end. All in all, a great time.

If you ever come to the Sunshine coast you must stop at the first point. Bribie Island. A bridge that connects you to from the main land in a vehicle. So much to see and do you need a week to enjoy the Island but even a day trip won't disappoint. From great pubs to fab food choices this hidden gem is one the retiree's have kept to themselves. Plenty of great shops, spectacular views, all types of beaches, fishing, swimming, BBQs, wild life and nature parks. Get here quick before it's too late and maybe one day the island has disappeared.

Great island to visit. Good accommodations from caravan parks to hotels. We stayed at Bella Abode in Bongaree which was lovely. Great sunset views at the jetty with the glasshouse mountains in the distance. There are good beaches at both sides of the island. Red beach has great views of Morton Island and the mainland, even see Brisbane in the distance. On the east side is Woorim Beach, beautiful long stretched beach that goes for miles. If you have a 4x4 you can head to the North of the island to see fort Bribie from ww2. There is even a tour to There for those without a 4x4. Outside the rsl club they have a tank. We went to the butterfly ๐Ÿฆ‹ house which was 12 dollars each. Very relaxing and nice.

My favourite park in the world is the Ian Fairweather park on Bribie Island. It is where the artist lived a lean-too life that bore great paintings . Today a huge rock is placed where Ian's hut once was. A grove of trees peppered with contemplation benches evokes a quiet sense of awe. A haunting and beautiful part of the world. jamesdevere.com. If you love much more quiet family holidays close to Brisbane (about 50minute/1 hour drive) then Bribie Island is an ideal destination.

I'd heard good things about Bribie and from our stay there, I thought it great. Beautiful passage and beaches for swimming and water activities .Many places to eat/drink. Walked along passage at Bongaree where everyone was friendly. I loved the way they care about their wildlife/environment๐Ÿ‘. Many signs educating and advising to be careful. I will be asking our council for similar signs for our area.

If you are looking for a nice sandy beach close to Brisbane, go to Bribie. This is probably the closest- so I have been told. The beach we went to (Woorim) has very nice fine sand. It was nice and soft. It was not heavily crowded in the afternoon when we went at the patrolled beach. The waves were nice and not huge. We also went up further for a look at the un- patrolled section it was very nice. The suburb itself is daggy and outdated. It has no nice features that I could see as we drove to the beach. The shops near the beach didnโ€™t seem exciting.
