Not what I expected at all. Just stopped in for a quick look (only R5), so can't speak for the accommodation, but some of the sculptures in the shoe (museum section) are truly inappropriate for children... Wouldn't suggest it as a family stop.

Really great experience. Lots of art work on display and even a underground gallery with biblical stories depicted. Curio shop has almost everything you can think of. There is accommodation on site and a kitchen catering for almost every thing. Kids play area next to outside dining area. The old lady that lived a shoe was buried next to the house. See pictures No birthday old pass away date as it was a long time ago. Staff is very friendly and helpful and shares knowledge friendly with us. Take the kids they will love it and you can relax in the restaurant area with something to eat and drink. They do take away coffee to for the people in a hurry. Absolutely a must visit

One part was under construction when we visited on 9 June. I would not recommend buy ice ream from the store as its VERY VERY OLD it tasted like wet cardboard and the lady wasn't the friendliest. The shoe is visible from the road it was nice but wouldn't say driving especially to see it is worth it. The carvings are beautiful most are very spiritual mostly Jesus carvings (Christian carving)

The Shoe is amazing! It has amazing and kind people there, the restaurant serves is very fast and good. And if you book in to stay the night, the rooms are very nice inside and out, and one of the things that I enjoyed a lot, yes the kind people, but also the swimming pool, the temperature is amazing especially at night! And the food tastes very very good. I will definitely go there again!

We did a bike trip to have Sunday lunch at the Shoe. The establishment is on the R36 road from Ohrighstad to Palaborwa approx 24km from Ohrigstad. Inside they have a shop that sells any thing from African Hand crafted art to games and basic food stuffs. As we went for the Restaurant we enjoyed the meals and the service was friendly and quick. The quality and sizing of portions are more than acceptable I will stop again. Next time I will do the Shoe visit aswell as the Guided man made cave tour. Thanks for a great meal, service and friendlyness!

Lovely experience, lady at counter was not too friendly...curious shop has a lot of items and the Shoe Museum was impeccable and a step into history. Gorgeous art work with a lot of Christianity put into it. The hand made cave was an interesting experience.. Quaint coffee shop also available...I would recommend going for the day as a family outing..

Needing a cool, quiet and natural atmosphere for a getaway, rest after a long day of working, or some holiday plans, around The Shoe? Then there's no where better. I absolutely enjoyed my stay here while commuting to a nearby village for my research.

The rooms have a rustic and sort of old farm theme. The rooms are beautiful, stoney and unique. It is situated just outside of town so it is safe and quiet. Great environment. The owner was a little unwelcoming at first, otherwise great service.

Expected a bit more, it does not look the same as photos on google as it has been closed up from the roads side, apparently due to a lot of vandalism. Was a bit dissappointed after a long drive there.

We had a very unpleasant experience at The Shoe. The owners were very rude to us. We drove past en route on the return journey from Hoedspruit. It was the last stop of our holiday. We looked forward to it, since we read about the ministries . I'm so disappointed about the attitude of the people who assisted us, and just want to let everybody know that true Christians don't act and speak to people that way. They portrait a very false image of what Christianity

Had a very good experience at the place. Very kind and welcoming people. The place has a great atmosphere and the apartments are cool both during the day and night. Would definitely recommend it for short stays, sleepovers if your traveling far, and is also very nice and affordable for long term stays as well. Would definitely recommend it. Very family friendly place especially if you have children, reason being there's stuff for them to do.
