This is an unbelievable museum! The sheer size of this "miniature" world is so impressive. Two floors of views made for a delightful afternoon. We loved looking for the "Eye Spy" game and marveled at the intricate display of real life situations, from feeding the chickens to putting our a forest fire. The details are incredible! The miniature trains are a marvel and so fun to follow on their journeys. The real caboose was fun to explore, and the miniature displays were captivating. Looking for the dinosaurs was a great challenge and the staff was beyond helpful and encouraging. The kids were so excited to win the prizes for finding everything! The gift shop was awesome and we loved the clanging bells signaling a real train coming through. This was as much fun for the adults as the 8 and 11 year old. We can't wait to come back!

A visit to this museum will bring joy to your day. The dedicated volunteers work hard to continue David Trussell’s dream of sharing the greatest hobby of model railroading with the world. Their goal is to continue to create a better experience for the visitors. Stop in to share in their efforts. You will not be disappointed.

Breathtaking details and fun little hidden gems are sure to be found at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum. (One of my favorites are the tiny little chickens that move. Reminded me of the chickens I had when I was little!) We spent about 2.5 hours here looking at everything and I know that there are tons of details that we probably missed! Just a great appreciation for the time, effort, and ingenuity it takes to design and build a grand scale model railroad system. Each section blends well with the one next to it and I found myself following the train and trying to imagine what it might be like if I were a passenger on the train. My imagination was soaring! We look forward to our next visit!

Loved this gem! Plenty of helpers to ask your questions. Wonderful replicas of life along the rail. Enjoyed the I spy game plus the Christmas village display. Kids will love it too!

Absolutely one of the best experiences I've ever had. Just amazing detail and beautiful scenery. Every single person I came in contact with that worked or volunteered there was very nice and very knowledgeable! I highly recommend going there, even if you don't share the love of model railroading. I would visit every single day if I was closer, and I do plan on going back soon. I look forward to seeing things I missed the first time through and can guarantee that every time after that I will see something new. Oh, did I mention that this RR is amazingly huge. Thank you for reading this post, and I hope it really inspires you to go visit. You won't be disappointed!

I'm a train guy.....and my expectations aren't high. I have been to plenty of model railroad exhibits, swap meets, and even some museums, none of which can't even come close to comparing to this piece of history circa 1970's in the northwest corridor and pushing a tad modern. These guys really know how to put on a really quality realistic show of extremely talented ho scale model train workmanship. This is definitely something every train lover should see. From wall to wall, it exhibits examples of different scale sizes to different manufacturers, to all kinds of railroadania. It also includes a train simulated style screen from a locomotive that is running a on the layout, that allows you to see first person viewing, and they have a real ctc system dispatched by a real dispatch opperater and it icludes a full sized real caboose you can climb up into and have a look around. This is a very big display not big enough to get lost in but definitely big enough to encompass such an amazing train display. You won't be disappointed at all. Go have a look for yourself and enjoy!!

Genuinely one of the best museum experiences I’ve had in my life, you could tell all the volunteers were just excited to be there. They were very passionate and happy to answer any questions we had, and even took us on a tour backstage! The scavenger hunt was engaging and allowed us to take the time to appreciate the attention to detail in the displays. Special thanks to Jon, Bob, and Deb for the tour and help at the counter but all staff/volunteers were wonderful. Spent $170 on train paraphernalia and it was worth every penny, I’ll fall asleep tonight in my Big Boy shirt clutching my BEAST MODE train mug. Nothing short of death itself will keep me away from this place

My husband, son and I were impressed from the minute we walked in the door. The model trains were exquisitely done and the staff was beyond kind. Deb at the front desk was very patient, kind and accommodating. When Andy, the manager of the museum, found out it was our 30th wedding anniversary, he took us all on a behind the scenes tour of the museum, which was amazing! We plan to go back as soon as possible, because there’s so much to see and do that you can’t really see it all in one trip. The museum even has a scavenger hunt, hidden animal and dinosaurs that you find for a prize. They have sophisticated layouts for model railroaders, but also many trains and activities for children. It’s just a lovely experience for all ages and various interest levels.

Miniatures are quite nice and super detailed. Felt like I was in a I Spy book or Where's Waldo. There is also a scavenger hunt which is a blast! Do recommend.

Very cool museum! This layout is massive. There is so much detail, and what a fun experience! The wife really enjoyed it, too. We drove an hour to see this place, spent 3 hours there, and can't wait to return. Well worth the trip!

I was in awe when I walked through the door. I did watch a few YouTube videos of the place before visiting and I must say the videos doesn’t do it justice. You have to experience it in person to appreciate the quality and effects put into this place. This is a must visit if you are visiting the Denver area. It’s only a 59 minute scenic drive.

Sheldon Cooper would LOVE this place! Went here with my wife, son and a friend of his. The adults enjoyed it as much, or more, than the kids! Will definitely be back!

My husband and I took our grandsons (ages 3 & 5) to visit. Wow, we were so impressed! First off, the staff are super friendly and helpful. The museum itself has so many displays that are meticulously set up. It’s very kid friendly with step stools and clear plastic barriers so the kids can see everything. Tons of buttons allow the kids to manipulate lots of displays. They also have an “Eye Spy” game that really engaged my grandkids. Will definitely return!

Absolutely worth the 2 hour drive. We brought our 10year old son and had a wonderful visit. There is a scavenger hunt that makes it fun for kids and adults alike. We enjoyed the detail, craftsmanship and history of the museum. The staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful. Even if you are not a train enthusiast this is a fun place to check out and enjoy.

This is such an amazing museum! On Fridays and Saturdays, it is common to have one or two dozen volunteers operating trains. They all have radios, and obey over 150 signals on the layout. It takes about one hour for a train to go around the massive setup. Check the museum's website as they have special themed events every few weeks. The place is expanding with outdoor exhibits coming soon. Kids will enjoy the scavenger hunt to see details in the scenery. Train enthusiasts will enjoy the realism of the historic trains. I am a pilot, so I was fascinated with the Dispatcher and traffic controls required to operate so many trains at once.

It's truly a wonderful museum. Greeley has a little gem tucked in downtown. I take out-of-town visitors every chance I get and see a new little detail I missed on previous visits. I am already looking forward to next time!

This museum was so much fun!! They've done an excellent job with their train layouts and they have created a really fun hidden items search that's great for the whole family. We ran all over for an hour trying you find all the items on the list. Don't miss this museum. It really was excellent!

👍 Lincoln Park is beautiful, nicely shaded and a park that is fun for all kids, including those with disabilities. The only downside is that the homeless gather by the gazebo. Far enough from the playground, but still a place to be vigilant in knowing where your kids are. But that should be the case a...
