Abyssinia is the best and only remaining Ethiopian restaurant in Gulu. It has ample seating both indoor and outdoor and the food is usually a 15-30 minute wait. If you are one or two people, get the half-special. It will cost you UGX12,000 and be enough to feed most folks. My younger self bicycling 40 miles a day would finish a full special myself. If you are a voracious eater, consider the challenge. Tibs, goro, and even the spaghetti are particularly good. The sauce comes with or without meat, giving vegetarians that rare flexibility. Get here, grab a beer, and enjoy an end of day dinner with friends.

It’s delicious. But the injera was quite tasty to me however other people mentioned it’s not the flavor of a true Ethiopian injera. If you are around please indulge.

Food is exceptionally good at this place. Nothing more cozy than to be here during late hours with a bunch of friends for some good food and company. Service is admirable and drinks are always served cold. Try the sharable menu items.
