😠 This was the worst experience from a soul food restaurant that I’ve ever experienced. I literally called in advance and they gave me a 30 minute wait time which was fine because I figured all my food will be fresh. This was the worst experience from a soul food restaurant that I’ve ever experienced. I literally called in advance and they gave me a 30 minute wait time which was fine because I figured all my food will be fresh. I ended up waiting an hour for some old salmon which wasn’t honey glaze, some undercooked greens which were tasteless, And literally a half of serving of string beans that took 30 minutes to cook. I complained to the front desk worker about the wait time as well as the food she was very insensitive. She stated that she would render the problem but I honestly didn’t have the time to wait. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to eat here even if you haven’t ate in a weeks time frame. She said that the manager would contact me when he came in first thing Monday morning and I am still waiting to this day. If you’re looking for so food this isn’t the spot. Stay away, stay far far away.

The customer service was GREAT! From the time we entered up to the time we left the entire staff was very pleasant and overly helpful. The food on the other hand looked amazing, but for us lacked the "Soul" Food flavor. Just wasn't your grandma's cooking, but it was just okay.

Love this place definitely in my top 10 of soul food places in Greensboro, NC! Great homemade food with affordable prices! Chicken is made to order so you will have to wait a few minutes for your food! But it’s definitely worth the wait. I grab the White fried meal with Mac and any type of greens they have available for that day!

The food here was amazing. I will say if you want to eat in go when its usually not to busy because the place is really small and the tables are really close together. The yellow cake with chocolate frosting was incredible and I will definitely go back to try other flavors. The cake was super moist and had an amazing flavor. The whiting was really crispy on the outside and hot and flaky on the inside. The mac and cheese could have used some salt and pepper but overall was still really good. The yams were sweet and super soft I loved them. If you order a kids chicken nuggets just make sure that you have some sauce with you if your kid/kids like them like mine because they dont have any.

Holy Moly!!! An epitome of Soul Food, every bite really touched my soul. Greeted by such a warm and loving welcome, our party of 2 ordered the 4 wings meal and a serving of the Salmon cakes, each with a coleslaw and mac n cheese sides. Our first bite, both of us had a food orgasm! It was sooooooo soooo good, hidden away in a small parking lot next to the dry cleaners ! with ample seating outside for customers. Our Salmon cakes was filled and stuffed with salmon, paired with some tatare sauce made it mouth watering. The wings were perfectly battered and fried with every bite crispy n satisfying ! If ever in greensboro and craving soul food, a highly reccomended place to come, its the food my asian mama never made and its the food that makes your heart wanting to return!

This is a black own business! The food is very good, however I feel that prices are a bit high for this eatery to be planted in one of the lower income side of towns. I wish prices were a little lower. The staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. Sanitation was a bit off where the drinks were in the fridge. To say the least... I paid forty for two plates, two drinks and a dessert.

I had a take-out plate consisting of 2 piece whiting fish with baked macaroni and cheese and fried okra and cornbread. It was very good and tasty the service was excellent. This is a take out restaurant in Greensboro off North Church Street and East Cone Blvd the menu has many choices I'll be back to try them all.... excellent and reasonable meals.

This is my 2nd time eating here. I think their food is delicious. Great soul food for when you don't feel like cooking. First time I had the fried pork chop collards Mac n cheese w cornbread. The pork chop lacked salt as did the Mac n cheese but easily fixed. Collards were wonderful. Cornbread wasn't sweet. This time I ordered the fried fish filet fried okra and the Mac with a peach cobbler. Took a small piece of the fish and found like 6 large bones got one stuck in my throat. Filet is not fileted. Maybe I just gotta pick it apart first but that definitely disappointed me because it's best when it's hot and fresh. Even tho the seasoning on it is good I probably won't order the fish again after I eat it this time. The cornbread was sweet this time and the cobbler was fantastic.

Got the fish special. Awesome seasoning. Customer service was spot on. Friendly staff. Appears to be a family business.Ordered food and waited in vehicle (they'll bring your order to you). Prices were similar to many other venues. The specials are VERY reasonably priced. I'm picky 'bout my collard greens 😆. Not one complaint. Hats off to the cooks.

We actually had an event catered by Funderburk's. Let me tell you about our experience: food arrived ONTIIME and ALL the guest enjoyed the food. Our guest even wanted seconds!! It was so delicious that I travel from Charlotte, NC to Greensboro, NC to have another awesome meal. I love the salmon cakes, chicken and all the sides. Also thank you for having a friendly staff. 😊

I can’t believe I had never heard of this place before. The food was truly soul food and the staff was very friendly. We ordered over the phone and did a curbside pick up. There was a line of cars waiting, but we waited maybe 5 minutes before our food was brought out. I’m so happy my bf told me about this place.

People act as if your restaurant is a FAST FOOD PLACE…. We as a people are our own worst enemy! I will never understand why would you go some place and wait for food when you know it may be a long wait time and then run to Google to give a bad review!! If your that impatient! I have a suggestion why don’t you just hightail it on over to McDonald’s or something where you can get you some fast food! Black folks are so quick to down grade each other when it comes to black own business but they will go over to a high end restaurant and wait for that process prepackaged food for hours and not say a word!! Some people need to go food shopping and go home and cook for themselves! With there Complaining selves! You don’t see other ethnicities doing this to each other! They know how to support one another! I was always told (SOME) black folks are like CRABS IN A BUCKET!!! As soon as one gets to the top another crab is pulling it down!!!! Job very well done Funderburks for putting up with the unappreciative complaining customers that you serve on a daily basis! I’m from up North and we do not operate like our people down south! WHAT A SHAME🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️!! JOB WELL DONE!!! PERIOD I wanna know what happened to communicating with a person! If it’s a problem it can be corrected before you leave a persons establishment!! So you won’t have to run to Google! And it would be too much like common sense suggest cancel your order if the wait is too long! THAT PART!!! (OUR PEOPLE)🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Overall a good place to eat. Call ahead to make sure they have fried chicken. Every time I’ve gotten there and placed the order, it’s always a 20 minute wait. Its a soul food restaurant. There should never be a wait on fried chicken.

I had the catfish meal with baked beans, macaroni and cheese, corn bread and peach cobbler. My friend had the fried shrimp with collard greens, macaroni and cheese corn bread and peach cobbler and pound cake. We both agree that every thing was outstanding. However my fish was a little too moist wet in the center despite being cooked slightly crisper. The food was amazing and the portions were more than sufficient. Neither of us could finish all of our mean.

Pork chops dry fried breaded heavy and refried couldn’t eat no flavor. Sweet potatoes burnt on top undercooked underneath, very disappointing was not expecting such a terrible meal!

So I was in the area for a MD appt with my wife on June 21st. I live in Harrisburg which is over an hour but I wanted some good soul food. The service and personnel where professional and polite. However, the food was below my expectations of soul food. Why? My fried pork chop dinner was the thinnest pork I’ve ever seen and inside a crunchy fried covering. Not good at all. The Mac and cheese was not cheesy or well seasoned. I did enjoy one thing - my side of potato salad. Thank you.

I visited Funderburk's while visiting Greensboro based on reviews and it was delicious. I ended up getting the 3 chicken wings plate with collards, yams, and cornbread. The fried chicken was so crispy. The yams were on point. Overall, it was delish. I will come back on my next visit to Greensboro.

The candied yam, cabbage, and bake turkey wing was the ultimate experience of delicious food. My first visit but will not be my last. Talking about soul food, Funderburk's got it going on.

I searched online for soul food restaurants in Greensboro while attending a conference at the Koury Convention Center. I placed my order online and drove 15 minutes to pick up my food. If you want warm reception, this is not the place for you. My fish was hot, but one of my sides was barely warm and the other was downright cold and inedible (fried okra). Even though I ordered online and was required to select condiments and bread before checking out, neither was included in my bag. See my receipt for my selections. So much for the $1.50 convenience fee that is tacked on for online orders. I did ask for the condiments and cutlery which seemed to irritate the cashier who told me to check my bag because it should be in there already (which none of it was). It seems as if I was hurried out of the restaurant. Closing time says 5pm and I arrived around 3pm, so it can’t be that last push to get customers out before closing time. I should’ve taken all of this was as a sign to immediately check my order, but I didn’t. So about two minutes later when it occurred to me to do so, I realized I did not receive any bread either. When you call the number, it’s a prerecorded message and no one answers…it disconnects after the message plays.

I recently had a very disappointing experience here at 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗸’𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗳𝗲 & 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 being that it was OUR 1ST TIME HERE. It’s an outside dine or to-go establishment so I placed an order for two meals to go & drove back home only to find that only 1 small side order of peach cobbler was missing from my order. When my wife contacted the restaurant to address the issue, she was met with an incredibly rude & unprofessional response. The person in the background who I assumed bagged my order, not only failed to offer a simple apology but also seemed disinterested in resolving the problem she stated “THEY SHOULD’VE GOTTEN IT WHILE THEY WERE HERE.” Her dismissive attitude & lack of concern for my missing item left a sour taste in our mouth. It's disheartening when a restaurant fails to take responsibility for their mistakes & treats their customers in such a disrespectful manner. While it was only a $4 item, it’s the principle of what was missing that employee showed NO REGARDS of the errors on her behalf. The owner apologized, then stated we can come pick up the missing item. The owner also stated she will correct the actions of her RUDE employee. We were appalled by the actions of the RUDE employee that we stated just NOT TO GET THE MISSING Peach cobbler & count it as a lost. As a 1st time customer the experience has deterred us from even coming back & let our close friends/family about our experience.

Was gonna do a walk in order, but decided to do a curbside last minute. I probably waited for about 10 minutes. Fish was well done how I asked; I loved that because some cooks really don’t listen when you tell them well done. Everything was pretty good. Will be back. Oh yeah, and the lady that took my order over the phone and the one that brought it to the car was really nice. Came in on October 9, 2021 at about 2 something pm
