Horrible experience. Do NOT visit this hotel if at all possible. I had a booked reservation with a confirmation number and follow up email stating they were looking forward to me arriving. Well, I arrived and no reservation under my name. The Front Office Manager confirmed while viewing my cell phone that I did have a reservation but she could not see it in the Marriott computer. This is where it got really interesting, the Front Office Manager got angry with me for not understanding her and that although the reservations looked real, she was still unable to see my reservation and it is not her problem. The Front Office Manager then asked me to step aside and 'figure it out' because their were other guests that needed her attention. I asked for the Front Officer Manager to please 'comp' my handicapped parking - I am on crutches, she completely denied me. She said, "we don't do that". Well, during the time I was at the counter, the maintenance crew was fixing the handicapped entrance door because it didn't work. So, if you are willing to put up with horrible customer service with a large dose of attitude/arrogance and be treated like less than a human b/c you are handicapped, this is your place. If not and you would like a good hotel experience, never go to this hotel. Misunderstandings and mistakes are totally cool, but when it was not my fault and they get mad at me, that is over the line.

I loved the location of this hotel. Two problems one, you pay all this money for this room and it doesn't have a microwave in the room. You have to go downstairs to the lobby and warm up your food and hope there is not a line waiting for the microwave because they only have one. I feel for you if u are on the 11th floor. Second, the parking deck is attached to the hotel so I'm assuming it belongs to the hotel so why do you have to pay 15.00 a day to park? Other than that, I truly enjoyed stay.

I gave 3 stars because the bed and pillows were not very comfortable, and the front desk failed to mention that the phone in the room doesn't work. I guess I was expecting more amenities since it is the Marriott and because of the price per night. The room was clean and I liked the shower.

I checked in 4pm with family. I turned the heat up to 78 degrees before we left to have dinner. We arrived back at 8pm and the room, 333, was still cold. Went to front desk and explained the situation. I was given another room, 339. After about 45 minutes I gathered all my belongings and went to front desk. I was assigned room 1132. The room was a walk a walk in cooler. I called front desk and he stated he would send the engineer my room. Engineer arrived and stayed the unit hasn't been switch over to heat. He switched the unit to heat. The room started to get warm. However, around 11pm the unit just shut down. Around 2pm, the unit cycled on for a few minutes and shut back down for the night. The room is still cold and I'm glad I'll be checking out this morning. No one called last night to see if the problem had been rectified. Just poor customer service.

Payed like 150.00 a night for no microwave, cold breakfast, you have to microwave your eggs. Smh. The bar downstairs is nice.

Excellent experience. The room was clean, comfortable and smells fresh. Check in and check out was convenient. Price was reasonable. Was told there was a sporting event and concert so even though a lot was going on and it was after 12 midnight customer service was professional and friendly.

Very nice hotel, great location and awesome staff. Only two drawbacks....Refrigerator in room would not get nearly cold enough...and the ice maker was out of order. ...other than that...No issues. I'll definitely stay here again. Also, whoever the bartender was, I don't remember her name, short, blonde-haired lady, she was awesome! Very friendly, helpful and gave us tips where to go for nightlife. A+ for her!

Great place to stay. It's clean and modern. The service is great. I had breakfast at the eatery inside the hotel and it was delicious but a bit pricey.

Food was there from the previous people. It was so late we needed to sleep so we decided to just try and sleep I say try because the room next door was loud and you could hear everything. I am understanding of people partying and celebrating so I just turned the t.v on but it just got louder and they didn't stop till 3 am I contacted the front desk and was told they already contacted the people. I got two hours of sleep. Definitely won't be back to this location I've been to other Marriotts located in Virginia and have never had this kind of experience.

This hotel is horrible. The front desk staff is rude and not helpful, management is rude and unresponsive. We have stayed here twice and had poor experiences both times. The air conditioning in the rooms does not work - in both of our stays we had maintenance come ‘fix’ the AC and it did nothing. The restaurant is impossible to get service at and the tables are usually never cleared. The worst part of our stays has been the staff. The front desk staff is never there -and when they are they are rude or unhelpful. When contacting them over the phone to communicate about our stay, they were extremely unprofessional. The I had to leave the hotel manager like 3-5 messages because she is never in her office. She never responded to any of my messages. All this for a stay that was close to $500 for one night. Ridiculous. Eventually I called Marriott customer service to communicate with an actual helpful person and was able to get a response.

On Friday May 5th, 2023 I checked into the Marriott Downtown Greensboro for an overnight stay for a concert nearby. I checked out on Saturday morning May 6th and presented the front desk clerk with a gift card in the amount of $250.00 issued to me by Marriott. After nearly 30 minutes and me having to directly contact Marriott's gift card service department, the receptionist finally confirmed for me that rhe gift card had been properly charged and the remaining balance for the room my food and parking was a bit over $60.00 which i gladly allowed to be charged to my credit card. This evening I check my credit card statement and realize that not only had my card been charged $290.00 dollars BUT the gift card had never been charged. Upon contacting customer service I was very flippantly advised that a "ticket" would need to be logged or I'd have to speak with the original facility🤔. When I calmly requested sup assistance I was IMMEDIATELY disconnected. When I called back I was passed off to a supervisor AND THEN IMMEDIATELY DISCONNECTED. If this is the kind of customer service Marriott offers... I WILL NO LONGER BE LODGING WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT. I've since spoke with 3 employees at the Marriott Downtown NONE of whom have corrected the issue after being promised.

Beds super comfy Food was good Service was fine once waited on, but hey are slow to scan the whole room for new arrival guests. Either seat the guest so they know where they are OR be aware of guests, especially when you go and sit where the bar tender directed you to sit

We went in for drinks and light food 11/17. The place was so much more empty than when I actually stayed last year. But none-the-less, when I asked for my bill, I was not given the itemized copy to view. When I questioned the person behind the bar(not sure where my server jetted off to), she gave me the one that hides all the details. And to my surprise, after getting the one I should have gotten as well, I saw that a service fee was added to the bill but the line for tip was still in tact. She knew what she was doing because she placed it down under the counter. She immediately ratted on the waitress and said it was not her doing. Really, then why hide it from me and if it was a process of the hotel, it would have been on the menu we received or told to us at the time of our order. They are stealing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are double dipping!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hotel accidentally put two holds on my card when I only agreed to one. It was supposed to be a $60 hold but I have one for $75 as well. The employee could not explain where the other charge had come from. I spoke to the supervisor about it when checking out and she reported that I had only been charged $30- Two days for parking, so the pending charges should return within the week. That was almost 2 weeks ago. I have called for assistance and been given the run around each time. Multiple times I was told I would get a call back but the person would just take my info and not reach back out. I’ve also been told that I needed to speak to their accountant. I have called to speak with him twice and each time he wasn’t there nor has he called me back either. I’ve spoken to my bank and they say it’s something the Marriott has to do to finalize and release the funds. I just want my money back as promised 🤦🏽‍♀️

Parking BEWARE! Using a credit card was the ONLY option to be released from the parking garage, there was quite a hold up leaving watching people input their CC numerous times, we had to do it twice (due to "error" reading card). Upon looking at my CC statement, we were charged twice! I can only imagine the people we watched input their card many, many times! Do I want to go through the hassle of sitting on hold for an hour over a $6 overcharge?!? Maybe on principle!

This hotel is not worthy d the Marriott name. Our experience here was not good. The AC in our room was so loud - sounded like a bucket of nails on the spin cycle- that it woke us up whenever it came on. Combine that distraction with a shower that sporadically dripped on a metal plate throughout the night, and it made for poor sleep. We actually contemplated driving home around 3 am because we could not sleep. The shower light flashed constantly off and on, and light fixtures were caked in dust. Finally, the food in the lounge was inedible. We went down for breakfast at 7 am, and the scrambled eggs were dried out. Even the oatmeal was tasteless. The price point for this hotel is shocking.

The customer service was indifferent at best, and down right useless and rude. I was issued a room key that didn’t work. I went down stairs twice because the new keys also didn’t work. I was told to fill out paperwork to get a new key and never received an apology. Once I was in the new room, another guest was issued a key to my new room and walked right in. Pathetic and embarrassing excuse of their failed attempt at customer service.

Great location, nice hotel, and friendly staff but definitely a few drawbacks. No breakfast, no free WiFi, and no free parking were the biggest ones in my opinion. Parking was available right next door for $15 a day. They also do not have microwaves in the rooms and our ice machine was down which made for some inconvenience.

Rooms have been renovated recently. Parking deck located beside property. Clean rooms. Small bathroom but nice. M Lounge ran out of water.

I stayed here as part of a conference. Most everything was great but some minor maintenance and housekeeping issues keep me from giving 5 stars. The bathroom sink stopper would barely open, even after I tried repairing it from beneath the counter. The lotion on the sink was mostly empty, so it had not been changed from the previous guest. And the bath mat (towel) seemed clean but had some significant yellow stains and probably shouldn't have been reused. The food served for our conference was good and they were great at accommodating some special dietary needs. The meeting room was well appointed. The public spaces of the hotel were modern and well maintained. The garage was easily accessed.

Good location near center city. Comfortable beds. Room was very clean. Bathroom is smaller than newer hotels. Enjoyed our stay.

Stayed there for a business holiday gathering. The staff was friendly and the rooms were updated and nice. I didn't leave the property except to head home but understand from others that there are plenty of places nearby for evening entertainment.

Hotel has been nicely renovated and is convenient to downtown. It was clean, staff were attentive, BUT. The walls of this hotel are SO.THIN. It’s unbelievable. Can hear the coffee maker and every word of conversation in the room next to me, when the guest above me had their alarm clock go off at 5am I leapt out of bed because it sounded like it was in my own room. Can hear people on floor below me sneeze. Bring earplugs!! Oh also Wi-Fi costs extra which is just nuts in this day and age.

Beware of the “free continental breakfast “ The area is hidden behind a door that says “MO” and looks like a workout area. No signs or anything indicating it’s the breakfast area. After searching for 10 minutes. A lady from the other side asked me if I wanted a coffee so obviously I said yes. Then she said to have a seat and asked me what I wanted. After this she brought eggs, sausage, toast, and some hash browns, then 20 minutes later handed me a 33 dollar bill. She disappeared then later a gentleman came by and said to just “add@ my room number. Talk about misleading!!!

Had a training class for two days here. We got the one conference room with no heat. We told staff about it multiple times first day and second day. They didn’t offer to move us to heated room, even though multiple were available. Heat didn’t rise this day. I brought beanie, gloves and had two blankets the second day. Otherwise food was decent and everything looked clean.

Lobby of the hotel is nice and looks to be renovated since I last stayed there a few years ago. The lobby seating is plentiful and easily accommodates separate groups being able to sit and talk. The rooms left a little to be desired. The rooms were well furnished but the bathroom was tiny and did not give me a sense of cleanliness.

Renovated and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay for several reasons. The carpet is clean and the sink was cleaned. Since Covid, housekeeping in hotels across the US are falling short of cleanliness. The sink hoards tons of germs. In addition the linen and overall the entire room was spotless. Many hotels omit pens and notepads since Covid. Many times they have mismatch brand, amenities. It was nice to get a clean room for a change with the amenities mentioned.

Location is terrific as we were in town to attend a concert at the Tanger Center. Self-parking was convenient, and check in was smooth. Staff was very friendly. Bistro was short staffed with very slow service, and food was mediocre and overpriced. We were delayed as we were unable to get back in our room after eating at the bistro. After 15-20 minutes and two trips to the front desk, they sent maintenance guy right up and the battery had died in the key sensor to open the room so he replaced it just in time for us to get to the concert. Shower in the bathroom was great. Room was okay-no issues with it. Housekeeping did knock on the door a little after 9 am and checkout wasn’t until 11 but that was no big issue. Would likely stay here again when attend event downtown due to the convenient location but would not eat here.

The hotel was really nice and the people at the front desk were extremely helpful and professional. I had a problem with my door lock and they had it fixed within 2 minutes. However having dinner with a large group of people in the restaurant proved entirely overwhelming for the server... So many plates were wrong, and for a group of 10 people, the last plate came out 25 minutes after the first plate... Everyone was happy with the quality of the meals.

I'm going to be honest, I didn't book a room here. The downstairs social area became the site of a mini family reunion. The bar staff was on point with Food and Drinks. The staff was extremely nice. This is definitely my go to hotel in Greensboro.

Excellent hotel & customer service, from the front desk to the restaurant employees! The bed was very comfortable. I'd come back here to stay again. I recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in this area!

Room was fine overall, but they could have paid more attention to the details. For some reason there was scotch tape on the walls (someone perhaps had decorated the room?), bookcases were very dusty, etc. As someone else mentioned, the AC didn’t work properly (75 at all times). It’s not The Plaza, but for a night in Greensboro it was fine. We couldn’t find a menu in the room, so I’m posting a few pics. Hopefully help someone else!

This is my "go-to" hotel whenever I have business in downtown Greensboro. It is a great hotel but what really makes it special is Jenny, who runs the breakfast area at the members' lounge. She is always so cheerful and so helpful. Her welcoming attitude and upbeat personality start our business day off right. What I really appreciate is that she remembers my colleague and I even though we see her once every few months. This great attitude makes the hotel feel like home. The Marriott is very lucky to have her!

Very nice. Accommodations were modern, clean, comfortable. Customer service was kind, prompt, easy. Food was good for what we had. Chopped salad with flank steak, buffet breakfast. Wait staff was awesome! Couldn't have asked for more convenience to Tanger Center. The cost was very high and for that price would have expected breakfast to be included. I splurged for 1 night but could never have afforded 2 nights. Definitely would recommend but would warn of the cost.
