First time visit to this cozy, restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was flavorful and efficiently prepared. Drinks were also prepared well. We'll be back!

Order the Texano specialty bowl all the food was delicious. Definitely a go to Mexican restaurant in Greensboro. Often we tip to-go orders for restaurants we frequent and already know we like ; and of course for dine in and delivery orders, it’s only right. Since this was our first time eating here we picked up our food. My spouse noted after paying for the to-go order, the server said “ What, no tip?”. Which is unnecessary and rude to customers that haven’t even dined in or requested delivery, nor was the restaurant busy. Tips are earned for good service not entitled! Great food though.

DO NOT COME!! Ate here at the restaurant and took a plate to go for me to eat next day for lunch. Opened the box to find a cockroach deep inside the rice!! VERY DISGUSTING!! Called in to let them know and they started arguing with me saying it’s my fault. Never coming here again, and no one should either

I have been living in San Diego, Calif since 1986 and I KNOW good mexican food. I certainly did NOT choose to go to MEXICAN food when in Greensboro, NC- that being said: I was very surprised to find that the food was super delicious and they have one helluva an operation going here. THE PLACE WAS PACKED on a Tuesday night. MAKE RESERVATIONS. The service is fast and this place is very popular. The guacamole was chunky and perfect and the chicken mole was surprisingly delicious. They have just TWO tables outside. They dont have a liquor license, only beer & wine but they sell $5 margaritas 🤷🏻‍♂️❓

I don't understand how this place has such a high review rating, it's just all-around bad. The waitress made it extremely clear that she did not want to be there, and in fact never once even made eye contact with me or my partner. She straight up lied about the menu when she brought the wrong dish, then came back a few minutes later when the kitchen sent her out with the correct dish. We even pointed out that the menu contradicted her, but she stood her ground and just continued to lie. After placing our entrees in front of us, we asked for silverware and napkins as the table had no place settings. The waitress left, but never came back with the silverware or napkins; we had to go to the kitchen counter on our own and ask for these items. The salsa served with chips is pretty much the worst I have ever had - it's watery and clearly blended to the point that it's basically the same as dipping your chips in V8 juice. I ordered 5 tacos of different types, and they were all just bad - the most lifeless, flavorless, boring, dry, inedible tacos I've had in years. My partner's dish was similar, but was smothered in a tan colored sauce (presumably supposed to be red sauce or mole, but tasted like neither) despite the fact that she asked for green sauce, and the meat and fillings of her tacos and enchilada were watery and totally flavorless. Finally, when it came time to pay the bill, the waitress was nowhere to be found. We waited for about 10 minutes before going to the kitchen to ask to be cashed out, but our waitress, who was standing right there, ignored us until another employee got uncomfortable enough that they figured out the check and cashed us out. This was our experience at this restaurant after driving for 45 minutes to try it based on the reviews. Don't waste your time like we did - go literally anywhere else.

Ordered a side of guacamole and got the most delicious house made guacamole I've had in a long time! Salsa was delicious and so was our main entrée. If you're in the area, give this cute little place a try!

Food was good, large servings and typical sides of rice and beans. Reasonable prices. Staff was friendly and the service was pretty good. It was busy, so there was some lag time between their checks on the tables.

I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. It seems quaint at first, but when you walk in every seat is full and people are waiting, which tells you just how popular it is. We got seated fast on a busy Friday night. Our drinks and food came out very quickly and tasted delicious. The salsa was amazing, the queso dip was huge, and I really enjoyed the flavor of the chicken chimichangas I got. Great experience.

El Camino is a great Mexican cuisine in Greensboro! I usually order tacos which are good every time. They have delicious quesabirria which were perfectly cooked with a crunchy outside yet a soft inside. Their cheese papusas were also great. Chips and salsa are included when dining in. Don’t forget to pay at the counter at the end of your meal

Amazing food, amazing attention to detail when taking my order of no cheese on anything (which about half of all restaurants get wrong for some reason). The made-fresh tortillas are perfect and the veggies are fresh. The guacamole was fresh and full of flavor. I've just found my favorite Mexican restaurant.

I’ve always been a fan of this place and visit at least twice a month or so, until today (May 3rd, 2023 - 8:00 PM). I’m a vegetarian and have been one all my life. I ordered their veggie burrito under the Vegetarian section of the menu. While I was biting into the burrito, I realized there were chunks of meat in it. The person attending my table apologized and mentioned that cross contamination is quite common. While I understand and empathize with that, they could have at least offered to take my plate back and bring me a new plate with my order. That didn’t happen. I was also charged for the burrito I never ate. Not going back here again, very disappointed.

A very cool small place, with TVs and music, love the vibe, good place to chill. The food is the opposite, tacos al pastor are pretty bad (not in flavor, but quality), is tons of condiments with just a little bit of meat (literally, you grab a piece, put it in your mouth and it's just condiments, chunks of condiments with some pieces of meat around there) and DIDN'T HAVE PINEAPPLE, the tacos al pastor are meant to have PINEAPPLE. Margaritas are also weird, the texture is not like a frostie, is more like juice on the bottom with frostie on top.

We first came to this place on 11/4 the food and service was fantastic. Our waiter was so sweet and helpful in suggesting our meals for us. Then we went back on 12/3. The waitress was rude and got our order wrong. She tried telling me the chat cannot make fajitas without onions. I have had plenty of fajitas in my 43 years and I have never had onions. I always order no onions and peppers, add onions. Then my husband who also ordered no onion found onion tucked under the meat. He kept his I sent mine back. All they did was pick out the onions and reheat the meat and mushrooms. It still tasted like onion. Disgusting!!! Then the waitress was filtering with my husband and asked two checks or one. My husband agrees that we will not be back to this once we thought was a diamond in the rough.

There is no shortage of good Mexican food in Greensboro, but if there is any place that is better than El Camino Real then I have yet to find it. It's a pretty small place and it is always packed, but I am fairly certain that if they took over the next two adjacent spaces and increased their seating capacity to three or four times what it is currently they would still be always packed. Everything I've eaten there has been excellent but their pollo a la diabla (which is not on the menu but will often be listed on their specials board) is a particular favorite. Okay, now I’m hungry from just writing this…

Great experience at El Camino Real tonight! I ordered the (four) taco (Tuesday) special, half asada and half carnitas. Pretty amazing, highly recommend! 🌮

Phenomenal restaurant. Everything here is good and the staff is very friendly. Must try if looking for authentic Mexican cooking

We’ve always enjoyed El Camino but the service last night was terrible. Several tables who were seated after us all received their food before we did. In one case, the group was finished before our final plate was delivered to the table. The server never checked back with us until near the end of the meal so when we wanted more water, another drink, or more chips, we had to flag someone down. It was a busy night (especially for 5:00 on a Sunday) but the service was very disappointing.

Cannot recommend this restaurant. Nor will I be returning. In 2012 this place use to be good. Not sure what happened. Flavorless. The meat is so dry it’s hard to swallow. If there was sauce inside this “enchilada” it would be so much better. All plates come with rice, refined beans, salad and sour cream. All I wanted was rice, and I still have to pay for the things that are not on my plate (salad/sour cream). I tried to explain to the wait staff and cashier that the food was dry and they wouldn’t do anything about it. Very unfriendly.

By far one of the WORST restaurants in Greensboro. To eat here you would be wasting your time. The manager or whatever she is/was was by far one of the RUDEST people ever. Initially I wanted to order red pork tamales in which she mentioned they’ve never sold pork tamales and that I could get red chicken tamales (which was fine), she then goes on to say she’s been there for 8 years and has never seen pork tamales (okay fine). So I proceed to place my order with the young man and lady in which I asked her to repeat my order back to me in which was repeated correctly (shrimp, rice, squash, mushrooms, with cheese on the side). Well my food comes out with peppers and onions (things that I did NOT ask for). The young man and lady took my order back and then the same rude/unprofessional woman man stated that my order comes with peppers and onion. Like I repeated to her that’s NOT what I ordered and I showed her what part of the menu I looked at and I was very specific about my order. At this point me and her are going back and forth about what I ordered and she proceeded to say “I was being difficult from the time I got there” she asked the female server was I being difficult in Spanish and she responded “well just a little” (all LIES) and like I asked her how was I being difficult about an order that I was SPECIFIC about and you repeated back to me correctly? In the end I was treated very rudely and was asked to leave by the rude manager. El Camino will NEVER ever get my business again. I work in the service industry and I know NOT to be difficult, rude, or unprofessional to patrons that’s showing support to your business. If you would like to be treated with dignity and respect and a place that will get your food correctly and not argue with their customers then visit La Costenita Mexican Catina!!!

First visit. First good impression by hostess and I watched her clean our table. She was very thorough! Salsa was fresh with chunks of cilantro. The food was good, nothing over the top or bland. Each item preserved it's own taste and flavor whereas other Mexican restaurants the food can pretty much taste the same in every dish. Only negative was that we had to ask for my wife's drink 3 times.......how ever she enjoyed her meal! I want to come back and try the fajitas and seafood dishes!

Everyone has told me this is their favorite Mexican place in Greensboro. I don’t see what is so great. The food tasted very average and I am not a fan of how they nickel and dimed me. I like street tacos and other authentic dishes but it wasn’t what I wanted that night. Ordered 3 steak tacos with cheese thinking I would get steak tacos with grilled onion and melted queso. My mistake for not specifying, but they brought out Jalisco style tacos with cold shredded cheese sitting on top. I requested pico de gallo, sour cream, with rice and beans on the side. $3.99 for a tiny cup of pico when salsa is free. Another $1.99 for a little cup of sour cream and then whatever the charge was for rice and beans. So I walked out disappointed from the meal and feeling like I overpaid. There’s much better Mexican food out there for cheap and I won’t be returning.

My family ate here during a short visit. We came due to their high reviews. They did not disappoint! Service was quick and the food/drinks were delicious. We ordered queso and peach margaritas for appetizers. Both were really good! I ordered Birria Tacos, and my family had Chimichangas, Steak Salad, Burritos and Quesadillas. Everything was hot, tasty and came out quickly. If we ever visit the area again we will definitely be back.

Very good food and friendly service. Great choice of authentic Mexican food not available in many other places. Small place but worth overcoming that one flaw in their eatery. We really like this place.

My first visit was a mother's day lunch. Both my husband and I had the steak fajitas. Soooo delicious and a generous serving to boot. Service was efficient, friendly and fast despite the fact that the restaurant was quite busy Our second time was take-out. I had the chicken fajitas and my husband went for steak again. Again, great service and delicious food. The chicken was flavorful and juicy with a nice grill taste. Both my husband's meal and mine were plentiful and delicious. In addition, the prices are very reasonable. We love this place and highly recommend it.

Enjoyed my $1 tacos. Carnitas, Pollo, lengua, asada are excellent. Was not a fan of their al pastor and that's my favorite everywhere else I go.

Place is small but pretty authentic, kitchen is open so you can see stuff being made. Corner space an a small strip mall, but was full inside with a wide range of people. Wife I shared a big bowl, and it was delicious. By the time I made it to my rice it was cold. They are serving salsa in very small disposable plastic containers that I am sure will remain in a landfill for a couple hundred years next to a bunch of k cups. Result of Covid maybe? Place stayed busy, and the wife and I enjoyed our Fri night date!

El Camino is consistently excellent! The staff is friendly and courteous. Every meal that I have had it lunch or dinner is top notch. The guacamole is delicious. The fajita soup is so flavorful. I love the taco salad. Arroz con pollo is really good. Service is quick.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. Their lunch specials are only $5-7, and available in weekends as well. I would go there every day if time permitting.
