Bald Rock Heritage Preserve

Tourist attraction Nature preserve

👍👍 Great place to hang out and take pictures in nature. Amazing view of the nearby mountain ranges like Caesar's Head! There are a few short nature trails but not much of a hike. Great for picnics or a quick get away! People often mention stop, graffiti, area, views, rock, view, time,

Nice stop for great views. Right next to the road. Easy walk for the view. A lot of the graffiti has been washed off but new has been added in its place. Bring a chair and sit a while

Really nice granite dome. With care, most of the dome is walkable. Offers stunning views of upstate South Carolina and Table Rock back to the west. The biggest drawback is the graffiti which is covering most of the upper portion and flatter parts of the rock. It appears that some attempts have been made to remove some of it, but people are idiots and just keep coming back because they think everyone wants to see their names. Otherwise, a nice stop if you are heading to Caesar's Head. The parking area will slip by you if you aren't careful.

Taking my wife up here to see the sights, for such an easy place to reach (completely by car) it is staggeringly beautiful. The cool graffitied rocks are sweet and the overall scene is great. We had a great time exploring the little waterfall and across the rock faces!

A great place to watch the stars come out. Make sure you have a flashlight or one on your phone if visiting at night. Romantic place.

Beautiful views from this location. Only 50 yards from where you park at. A good bit of area you can explore here. No bathroom facility at this location so be prepared. I'm not sure what the deal is with all the graffiti, but it took away a little of the experience from me. Especially when my kids had to see spray painted pictures that weren't made for their eyes. I've never been a fan of vandalism, unless it's approved by a town to do on a side of a building or something like that. Next time we are in the area I'll definitely stop by again. And hopefully the vandalism will stop.

Breathtaking views. The rocks are all covered in graffiti from top to bottom. This place is about halfway up to Caesars Mountain. A must stop to and from. It’s also free, but parking can be tough, since it’s along the roadside.

About 30 mins before we got there it started pouring rain, but we didn't let it detour us. I've had one of the most wonderful days in forever, and we were only there like a hour and a half. The sights were breathtaking and beautiful!!

Very easy to access, beautiful view. Practically step out of the car, cross the little bridge and your there. My son says all the graffiti is the hair on the bald head.

Very unique area, a huge rock, can see for a long way... very cool. Has small little places in the rock that obviously people have come and built a fire... that would be really neat. We went in the morning, but it looks like the sunset would be best here due to the angles of the sun!!!!

Been here many times. Descended to the bottom a few times and climbed back up. Might be getting too old for that as the angle is very steep at certain points. I had to rest my ankles a couple times. Excellent view of the area minus the graffitti.

This is a great place to stop and relax. Just be careful since there isn’t a rail or anything near the edge. I loved the little bridge leading up to the rock area. The view is absolutely breathtaking!

This wasn't one of our planned stops, but oh so glad we did. Don't miss this stop!!! Unbelievable views!!!

Beautiful look out spot besides the graffiti everywhere and kids rolling glass bottles down the edge of the rock face just to watch them break. Sad to see people treating something so beautiful, so terribly :(

While driving back from Brevard, we this place. We have never heard of it before but saw cars pulled over and decided to check it out. It has breathtaking views. A must stop at location if you are in the area.

Your experience here will be very subjective and based almost entirely upon your opinion on the graffiti. Some love it, some hate it. For me personally it distracts from the natural beauty of this place. The views are still gorgeous and it's fun to hike around on the rocks, but in my opinion this place could be so much better. Lots of broken glass the last time I was there as well. As with many things, people simply don't respect it the way it deserves. Just my opinion. Your thoughts and experiences may differ, and if so that's totally fine too.

This place has an absolutely breathtaking view! The size of the area covered in rock is amazing and if time permitted I could have sat there for hours. I was in such awe that I didn’t even notice the foul language that was graffitied all over the rocks until my son pointed it out. While the colors of the graffiti may add to its beauty, the words written on it is upsetting, especially when your 7 year old is there reading it. When I visited a year ago there were also empty beer cans and full trash bags along the entrance way, leaving me to assume it may be a hangout place at night. If not for the language and trash I would give it 5 stars. I definitely recommend checking it out though!
