We rented 3 e-bikes and reserved them by phone 2 days in advance (including helmet and saddlebags as confirmed by the employee on the phone). On the day of the excursion we were served by an extremely irritable and unfriendly employee who at first did not want to give us saddlebags and was reluctant to hand over helmets. We then received 1 intact and 1 broken bag. 2 wheels had a figure eight in the frame. The price of 40 euros per bike was completely overpriced. Not recommended!!!!

Dear adventurers. With these Canoe trips create an unforgettable memory and adventure in an incredibly beautiful natural piece of nature. These days we set out as a combination of 2 fathers and 2 sons to write a chapter of an adventure together. We booked online with a deposit for a shared 4-person canoe. Getting there wasn't a problem, and there's a decent parking garage right next to the rental that's actually not full and only costs €1 for the whole day. In your car, you should definitely bring a change of clothes and dry shoes for each participant. From our experience, it makes sense to wear light shoes that can get wet when on the water. So. Arrived, got out and off we went to register. Checking in on site was unproblematic and easy. We presented the reservation, paid the remaining amount in cash and then received an immediate introduction to the symbolism of the signs on the water, the general behavior and the technology of the locks. Now we were equipped with life jackets, which are included in the price, set paddles, and a supposedly waterproof bin in which we stowed our valuables such as car keys, wallets, cell phones, etc. I would give everyone the tip to stow their valuables in it, as there can be splashes of water when traveling on the water, it can get choppy at times and there is always the chance of capsizing. Doesn't have to, but can. Oh well, you can of course take food and drink with you on board. If you wonder why you see so many sponges when you register or on some canoes when renting, then this should be a reminder to take one or two with you. They will help you suck the collected splash water out of the canoe and donate it back to the river. Now to start. You will be escorted into your canoe at the rental point and put on the water. From then on you are on your own and have to be a team. Choose the seating arrangement in the canoe so that the center of gravity is evenly distributed in the canoe, and with children, definitely in the middle. Otherwise you may have an experience getting water into the canoe due to the inclined position :-))). The start begins directly with a highlight. You start at the footbridge and drive straight into an impressive tunnel that is quite dark and almost 200m long. Here you have to keep calm and focus on the light that shines at the end of the tunnel, in the truest sense of the word :-). After a few meters of water, there is the first and largest lock, which has several levels. Choose a person in the canoe to be the smuggler. It is best to have an independent adult, as smuggling when there is no other group on site is strenuous and takes time. In addition, there has to be a person in the canoe - we had a 4 person - who can maintain stability and calmness in the canoe, as locking takes a while and can lead to small turbulences when filling the chambers. It all sounds worse than it is, but small children shouldn't stay alone in the canoe. Once you have overcome the first lock, you can expect a wonderful time on a great natural body of water. The river is narrow, not really deep, and apart from canoes you won't come across anything other than a kayak. But there are no boats or ships. After certain stretches there is always a lock. Attention, the division of the river in front of the lock is always well signposted and you should then choose the correct junction that leads into the lock. This is indicated by a white sign with a large arrow :-). And there are various opportunities to invest on the way there. For example, we stopped in Fürfurth because there is a small, idyllic beer garden right near the jetty where we spent our lunch break eating delicious delicacies at reasonable prices.

It's all ok. It would be helpful for beginners if the introductory video explained how to canoe. e.g. B. How to hold the paddle and how to sit and where to sit. Had a beginner on board. I had to explain everything to him. Equipment is OK given the circumstances. Be careful, there are a few older canoes with wooden benches and there are also some that leak. Please check beforehand and have it replaced if necessary. The locks are not exactly easy to use. But all in all a super fun experience.

Concerns the e-bike rental that is part of it... We rented 2 e-bikes there. We had to break off the tour because the motor on one bike kept failing. When we asked by phone, they just said: "It was still working yesterday"... Apart from that, absolutely bad e-bikes without suspension, bad/inappropriate saddles, even the smallest bumps become torture. After 2 hours and 4 engine failures, we canceled the day trip and drove back... I've rarely wasted my money like this

Very nice! Enjoyed! I just had to do all the work. That was a pity! The best man in the company just isn't answering right now. When you read this, the canoes are back on land and you can come pick them up.

The welcome was very friendly and competent. The kayaks, on the other hand, were in poor condition - especially for the rental price. Dirt is not a defect: one had a hole, the others were missing covers for loading hatches (unfortunately, despite being rented for a multi-day tour, not all of the kayaks were provided with storage compartments and partitions, footrests were defective... Sorry, but that's not more than 2 * for the price value.

Operation was unorganized, first took the kayak at the pier - there wasn't one, so I went back and looked for the kayak somewhere and carried it to the pier myself (too heavy for women), then I looked for the paddles somewhere.. that for almost €45?! Oh then also the wrong storage box, where is the small one for kayaks?? It really seemed like no one knew anything about the team and we were constantly being sent back and forth and had to figure everything out ourselves. Rules are followed immediately after the landing stage in the tunnel 0.0 - the noise was unbearable, there was no aisle and people paid attention when explaining how to operate the lock 0.0, of course when half of the people renting the boat got into the canoe half drunk and listen to loud music. The kayak tour towards Aumenau was a disaster. Far too many canoes on the water, we had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes at a lock! People listen to super loud techno music in the canoes despite the nature reserve and lots of little ducklings - all islands are entered despite the ban on mooring. At the pier in Aumenau, two of us had to pull the kayak up the stairs, a catastrophe and far too heavy for women. Conclusion: never start in Weilburg again and not with the rental company. It's better to start in Hanau/Fulda/Wetzlar.

Unfortunately our tour was marred by a very unfriendly reception. Initially the contact via email was very friendly and to our complete satisfaction. But then we were checked in very grumpily at the reception and complained that we should come on time next time... mind you, we agreed to be picked up at 10:00 a.m. and were at registration at 9:45... But that was probably too early for the lady... when you have a 130km journey, I can't plan this down to the minute and they could have kindly asked us to wait a little longer, which we wouldn't have had a problem with. She then revealed that the pickup would be at 5:30 p.m. at the latest, which was also different in the confirmation email. But she didn't care... when she then said we should pay for a 3-person canoe even though I had received written confirmation of a 2-person canoe and there were only two of us, my patience was slowly running out. But she then also billed the 2nd...Introduction at the beginning only consists of advertising...the equipment is clearly getting old (our "waterproof" barrel always cracked)...all in all, unfortunately, the fun factor was significantly dampened by it Unsightly start... We definitely wouldn't rent here again! There are enough alternatives and the route itself is really beautiful!
