Auf dem Schiller Platz in Mainz zu finden. Im Sommer ist sehr angenehm vor dem Brunnen zu stehen und Wassertropfen ab zu bekommen. Eine erfrischende Brise. Der Brunnen ist groß und vereint viele Figuren in sich.

A nice spot to enjoy the morning sun listening to the calming sound of the fountain. This fountain is symbolises the Carnival tradition of Mainz. Mainz is one of the top 3 biggest cities in Germany where Carnival season is celebrated, starting from 11. November every year until the day before Ash Wednesday (Catholic tradition) the next year. From mid September onwards there are independent wine booths where visitors can taste "Federweiße", which is freshly made wine that is still fermenting in the bottle.

Interessantes Kunstwerk. Gute Lage in der Innenstadt. Man muss sich etwas Zeit nehmen um auch alle Figuren zu finden bzw. zu erkennen. Mit einem Stadtführer geht es einfacher.

Extrem detailliert gestalteter metallener Brunnen am Schillerplatz in Mainz, nebenan das pfälzische Innenministerium. Der schöne Brunnen liegt in einer parkähnlichen Anlage, umgeben von zahlreichen Restaurants. Man kann sich einige Zeit damit beschäftigen, die einzelnen Figuren zu studieren.

Eines der touristischen Highlights von Mainz. Es wird behauptet, unter den vielen Skulpturen des Brunnens sei eine Maus versteckt. Wer kann sie entdecken?

Schöner Brunnen, kein Müll im Wasser. Aber Recht viele Menschen drum herum was sich wohl nie vermeiden lässt.

Sehr modern und großzügig gestaltet findet sich alles rund ums Drucken und dessen Geschichte. Auch eine Originale Gutenbergbibel. Sehr interessant und eine Alternative bei schlechten Wetter in Mainz. Aufenthalt 1-2 Stunden einplanen. Es gibt auch Vorführungen.

The Carnival Fountain in Mainz, is a neat and vibrant symbol of the city's joyous spirit. I could sit and observe the 200 carnival and mythology figures for an hour or more, you can understand it's part of Mainz's cityscape. Next year I'll be at the annual official Carnival declaration on November 11th from the Osteiner Hof balcony.

It's a very cool fountain - and a surprisingly peaceful place to spend a little while relaxing.

Brunnen is same as fountain in English. Fasnacht is a fried doughnut of German origin and served during days of CARNIVAL which is on Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent begins. In Mainz you can find a unique and large fountain depicting the festive characters of Carnival. This is nice to see! In addition, I visited the small Mainzer Fastnacht museum dedicated to the history. While interesting, I would not go out of my way to visit. It took a little time to locate and is not too far from the fountain. The Tourist Service Center shows it on their map. Cost is minimal and you can see everything in about 10 minutes. The "fools" hats and large paper mache heads are part of the tradition. A floor map shows the parade route which is approximately 7 km in length. Glad I learned more about the history ... my rating reflects the fact that it is not a major attraction.

The Fastnachtsbrunnen in Mainz is located on Schillerplatz on the corner of Schillerstraße and Ludwigsstraße . The monument is supposed to symbolize the foolish season . After three years of construction, it was unveiled on January 14, 1967, with great interest from the people of Mainz. It is just a tower with various artifacts. The area was covered with temporary food stalls due to carnival.

Recommended for a ver sunny day, go and expend some time looking at all the different images of the sculpture! Even better if you take a free tour and listen to the nice history behind 🥸

Very nice fountain with small flower garden nearby. We came here for easter holidays.Worth trip of the day. This fountain comprised of 200+ whimsical bronze figures celebrates the festive Carnival season. We have nice restruant next to it.We can sit and enjoy the view with the water drizzling from the fountain on us. Kids will definitely enjoy.One of the best photo spot in Mainz
