So normally the pictures come before bites have been taken. Not this time. I had the standard burger with an egg and my wife had the grilled cheese. My wife loved the fries. Yes, the fries. She said they are the perfect blend of crispy outside and soft warm inside. It wasn't busy when we went on a Thursday night. Very mellow vibe with cool industrial look. Lots of choices for beer on tap. You will definitely find one you like.

Stopped by for the live entertainment which was very good. No extra cover and the food was good. I had the Impossible Burger and it was good. A good burger bar that also serves brunch. Nice neighborhood, good service, & a outside dining area. Check it out and I think you will agree. Worth a return trip for sure!

We went here before our show and left so full. We got the Mexican crema hush puppies and the classic bar burger (add bacon). I’d recommend both of them. Good draft choices. Good place to stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

My husband and I love the craft beer, food, and people. They have 40 beers on draft, wine, and liquor.

The staff is always super friendly. Was surprised to find they are now open on Tuesdays with a limited menu including some apps and tacos. I’m not usually into “beer places” but I do enjoy this friendly neighborhood spot and their patio is great! I hear from neighbors that Vinyl Wednesdays is not to be missed too. Can’t wait to check that out as well.

Takeout review: The presentation was decent, but the food was BLAND. I have been wanting to visit this place, but never have time to do so. Today I ordered via DoorDash. The food arrived quickly and the temperature still warm. The Standard burger was moist yet bland. The duck fries were SALTY. The garlic parm wings was unbattered, unfloured, wings with a sprinkle of parm. Howlers & Growlers you need to hire the chefs at The Charlevoix. This meal lacked so much flavor.

I really enjoyed everything I got. They have enough clearly marked vegetarian options to make it easy to go back over and over. I got excellent service also.

Howlers and Growlers is one of the best spots in Grosse Pointe Park! They have a huge rotating selection of beers as well as wine and liquor. The staff are always incredibly friendly and really go the extra mile to make ones visit enjoyable. Last night we had the mac and cheese, pub burger and tacos. Everything was perfect and we left very satisfied. There was a live band too! Great for families and people with kids.

Great place to watch the game... Or just soak in the atmosphere. Our server was friendly, fast and helpful; and last but not least the food was EXCELLENT. Also, even if you're not a booze drinker (so the 40 tap beers would be meaningless), they made a damn good mocktail, complete with fancy cup. It was just a bit chilly inside and for longer stay I might prefer a comfier seat. Overall 5 stars; will try to return on Karaoke Fridays! PS the fries are so good.

It has been over 2 years since we have gone here for dinner. In the past I wasn't overwhelmed with their food, even though they're beer selection is top notch. Glad I let my wife make the call and we went here for dinner. We all ended up getting burgers, and my wife and I both commented that these were the best burgers we have had in a long, long time. Howlers and Growlers is now firmly back in my radar when we want to go out for burgers and a beer.

We stopped by Howlers and Growlers after they announced their ATM was stolen. They had the hole blocked off sane day, and by the time we arrived for lunch the next day everything was as back to normal as possible. They have a great kids menu, and the food was phenomenal. They have over 40 taps of local brews and the all the staff was knowledgeable about most of the beers currently on tap.

First timers and we will be back. We were greeted right away by Dave, the owner, and he set the tone for a very pleasant afternoon. He was very personable, helpful with the menu and beer selections, and very attentive working behind the bar talking & taking care of customers. Beer flight was very good and enjoyed it and the wings at .75 cents each were hot and tasty 😋 It was just a really nice atmosphere and I give credit to Dave for creating a friendly vibe. We want to come back for Monday Night - $8 dollar burgers. Thanks for the hospitality today, we enjoyed our visit.

Food was amazing, staff was extremely friendly. Love this place! Best spot for craft beers in Gross Pointe.

Went for burger Monday and food and beer were top notch. Only reason for 4 stars vs 5 - please include prices to beers on your menu. Beers here are expensive ($10.50 for one small sour beer) and it would be nice to have known prices before ordering a couple.

Edit: Their food has been upgraded! The butter chicken wrap and the spicy crispy chicken sandwich are 10/10. I have loved Howlers & Growlers since they first opened. I love the Grosse Point area in general and they are a welcome, awesome addition. The tap list is huge and I always get to try something new when I come visit. That being said, I haven’t been too fond of the food lately. They used to have what you would expect at a taproom: bar-style, tasty, simplistic food. Now it seems like the food menu has transformed into an attempted fine dining/casual dining combo, which for me at least, is not working (my opinion is mine, of course). Pictured is my Fish and Chips. I was craving them so I was happy to get them and I ate the entire meal, but they weren’t as crunchy as I would expect them to be, and girl... they were HOT. I suppose the included “pickled Hungarian peppers” in the description should’ve been a hint, but I was still caught a bit off guard! They still tasted very good, hence me finishing them. Maybe I just haven’t been ordering the right things, I don’t know. The service is definitely still a 10/10, like it always has been. I always love the great vibes given off by the bartenders!

Our little family of four enjoy our weekly outings at H and G! We are always met with accommodating servers and phenomenal food—- far from bar food! Jacob and his crew were top notch in service. Great place for us adults to enjoys bevies and kids play games—- something for everyone!

Favorite neighborhood restaurant/bar! I always stop by on Mondays for the $8 bar burger and fry deal. Both are so good and don't break the bank (the fries are the best I've ever had). On Fridays they have karaoke from 9pm- midnight and its super fun. David and Tracy the managers are super friendly and do a great job running the place (pro tip- give em a follow on Instagram for some quality entertainment) 🤪
