Excellent place to visit! Almost 90 acres of manicured grounds to explore in addition to the beautiful Ford house and other historic buildings. The Power House and the Pool House are really neat to explore. The restaurant, cafe and gift shop were also really nice. The do offer a shuttle service for those who don’t want to walk between buildings.

Definitely recommend the nooks and crannies tour when they have it again, if they have it again I'm sure they will. Was extremely fun to see some of the things you don't get to see on the regular tours. The stuff that goes on in the background and how the place was run was very interesting to see. It was nice to find out we could actually tour the rest of the house after our tour was over. Very small tour group of only nine people made it nice also and being able to see the rest of the house was an unexpected bonus. Almost had the place to ourselves as there was hardly anybody else there at the time we went which was 11 a.m. Also took a walk on the grounds some outside the house which was just beautiful. We got to see things like the generator room and even saw where Edsel would shoot guns in the basement and can see the holes in the wall on the one photo of the narrow corridor. Also definitely recommend getting a membership here for the price it's well worth it. You only need one for two people as you can bring someone with you each time and get full access to the grounds and discounts on dining minus alcohol purchases and gift shop items.

A truly beautiful estate. This was the home of Henry Ford’s eldest son and his wife, as well as their four children. The palatial mansion has more rooms and features than one can imagine, including a miniature house with functioning kitchen and garden for a 7 year olds birthday. The lagoon and pool are certainly highlights. A little annoyed that the grounds & house were separate fees, but all in all a neat experience.

Absolutely amazing this places in Christmas, I’m not sure if in another moment it will look this amazing. I love the mansion, the decoration also started to snow at the moment we went there. You can spend around 2 or 3 hours there. There is a restaurant but if you want to eat there you should book before because we tried to eat something there and is only with reservation.

So much to see on this property! Main house and it’s surrounding out buildings, including adorable playhouse. Visitors center with lovely small restaurant and takeaway cafe. In addition to all that, the gorgeous grounds!! So vast and beautiful. Even though it was freezing, it was well worth it. The map may make things seem farther than they are, but it’s really a very manageable walk. However, they do have a shuttle to take you around the grounds if needed and you can always flag them down! As they are trying to preserve the grounds you cannot walk onto the ice and back onto the grounds! Resist the temptation to go on the ice in the bay. Plenty of parking and a day grounds pass is only $5, sooo reasonable. Also, try to spot the super cool tree with the straight vertical limbs! Thank you grounds crew for the explanation! Hope to get back when the grounds are in bloom.

We own a historic home on Lake Huron in Alpena that suffered a renovation fire in August. We came to see the Ford House to give us some inspiration for the restoration since they were built about the same time. Our home is only 6200 square feet but had many of the same features as this charming home. What a delight to share the visit with my husband. Now we will share our experience with our designer.

Wonderful time. We couldn’t get a full tour - it’s busy the day after Thanksgiving - but we were able to self-tour the 1st floor. It’s a beautiful home without garish accessories but warm and homey. I’ve read several books about and including the Ford Family, and it was remarkable to see photos with Henry, Edsel, Henry II, and others as a family. The surprise of the visit was the grounds. We were a little reluctant at the admission price and only being able to see the 1st floor. But with the grounds decorated for the holidays, it was well worth the time and cost. I look forward to returning during the day and doing the entire tour.

Really enjoyed our visit here. Excellent visitor center with a museum, shop, and restaurant, and a shuttle to the main house. Ticket was well priced and gave us access to the expansive grounds and the house, which we could tour at our own pace. It was self guided, but there were lots of friendly and knowledgeable staff around if you had questions. They really know the history of the place. Amazing architecture and collection of art and furniture, and beautifully decorated for Christmas to boot. Plus I had no idea how generous and impactful the Fords actually were. Can't wait to go back for the nooks & crannies tour!

This is a beautiful home and grounds. I will definitely come back when the weather is nicer to explore more of the grounds and to do the nooks and crannies tour. I also was super impressed for when you needed a shuttle. they were quick to call and one arrived in an incredibly timely manner. Over all a great experience and will for sure return.

A beautiful Cotswald styled English home nestled in the banks of the lake St Claire. The home to He ray Fords only son and a true time capsule to one of the most famous families of modern history. If you have ever wondered how the ultra wealthy lived 50 years go , coke take stroll trough the manicured lawns before entering into an immaculate beautiful time machine. Wonderful look back into me and worth a visit. Still not a Ford fan though lol, looking at you Focus hatchback

It is hard to believe that this 87 acre estate is in Grosse Pointe Shores on Lake St. Clair. Incredible grounds and new Visitors Center. Be sure to visit the children’s playhouse on the grounds.

The house is beautiful, as you would expect. But that's only half of what there is to see. Be sure to check out the classic car garage, Josephine's Playhouse, the numerous gardens, the butterfly house, and the views of Lake St. Clair as well. Inside the house, pay special attention to the pictures and artifacts hanging in many of the rooms. The Ford family was well connected with business relationships and friendships with Presidents, royalty, and notable people from all over the world.

Magnificent historic family home of the Ford family, built in 1928 on 87 acres along Lake St Clair. The property is beautifully maintained and tells the story of one of America's great families.

It’s a very beautiful place. I went there in spring and the river was very peaceful. Saw different birds around the place. Beautiful house with rooms with modern architecture. You can easily spend 2-3 hours in that place. They also provide shuttle service inside the estate to go from visitor center to the house.

Our June Auction Gala 'Detroit Concert Choir at Ford House' was simply wonderful! Our guests enjoyed the great setting, food, and attentive staff. We can't wait to host another event at this beautiful venue!

If you want to tour the old house, you will need to pay 10 dollars. The inside of the house is worth seeing for once. The only complaint I have is that there’s a mild musty smell in the house, which I suppose is caused by not having enough fresh air circulation in the house and windows are always closed. I feel grateful for what I have now after visiting the house. Although I’m still renting an apartment, I have lots of natural light thanks to the development of construction concepts. You can still enjoy the beautiful scenery of the yard without paying anything.

We had a great time. The restaurant was really nice for lunch. My only semi negative note is that the gardens weren't great. We went in anticipation of seeing the grounds/gardens and there weren't really any to see. But, the house and restaurant were very great regardless. I would love to go back to see one of their concerts on the lawn.

Went there for a science fair. Views were great, people weren’t. Haven’t seen so many white ppl in one place for a long time-and that was already one of the most diverse days according to staff member

Woh!!! It’s a wonderful and a great place to visit in Michigan, Beautiful mansion located near the Lake side and in the wild beauty of Estate is a feast to our eyes,We’ll maintained , it’s so neat and clean, have food court and parking and from the ticket counter entrance near by you will get transportation to the Mansion, but you should have to walk whole the way to there to enjoy the beauty,

Super awesome historical spot on the lake. The restaurant has some really good food, the gift shop has really cool things for sale, and there's a museum and tour to check out. The property also contains amazing trees(which, honestly, is the most important thing for me).

Attended "Home for the Holidays at the Ford House" a new winter attraction, and I had a BLAST!!! We walked the property and enjoyed beverages and the Christmas lights, music, and decorations. We also toured the main floor of the mansion. Very nice! Happy Holidays

I recently had the pleasure of using the stunning Ford House in Grosse Pointe again as the backdrop for my clients' engagement photoshoot, and I am always in awe of the ground's beauty. I always advocate for a location that's either special to my couples or one where they can create new memories at and visit again in the future. Ford House is a beautiful historic gem and the staff during our sessions is always so nice!

Beautiful grounds to walk around in and relax. I didn’t tour the home but the view from the house and the museum was enough to learn about the Ford family.

The Ford House is definitely a must see when visiting Detroit! The Ford family truly seemed like good people and the tour was incredible. Did you know that when Edsel’s chauffeur was diagnosed with cancer the Ford family paid his hospital bills? When this chauffeur passed away the Fords paid his wife the full salary he was receiving for years after his death. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. One guide even walked outside with us to take a group photo. The grounds are overflowing with kindness!

This was very pleasant. I have never been here, they have free admission for Veterans on Veterans' Day. I went with my mom, who is retired Army. Very beautiful estate, with plenty to see and read about. The cafe is reasonably priced, the lobster alfredo is divine!

We dined at the Continental house, and boy was it set upon the Ford estate tucked in behind the woods in Gross Pointe Parks area. In a picturesque modern styled building and using reclaimed wood and elements can be seen all over. The restaurant was elegant and very relaxed yet comfortable vibe, classy jazz playing in the background. The drinks were a heavy pour, not stingy at all and quite moving. The food at the Continental was superb, my salmon Benedict was phenomenal along with my fiancés waffles and bacon was divine. The eggs were poached just well, and those popovers were scrumptious. Would definitely come back in the spring/ summer.

First class experience. I had been to this house many years ago when the overall facility was not as fully developed. Unfortunately, during this visit, our time was limited today so we were not able to tour the home. We can not get back to the Ford House to take the full tour. The staff and facility were absolutely top notch. The visitor's center had great interactive displays talking about the Ford family and their life at this estate. There were a lot of pictures and history. I know the life of Edsel could not have been what is was without Henry, but I always tend to feel that Edsel was a better man than his father. It is interesting to see the different ways the Ford story is told across the greater Dearborn / Detroit area. I would challenge anyone who has an interest in automobiles, general history or business to dig into the Ford House.

My husband and I visited with our parents to celebrate our anniversary. The weather, the grounds, the house and the bunch were perfect. The only reason for the 4 stars is the place to get coffee closes at 4 when everything else closes at 6. We'll definitely be back. I'll just be sure to make it back to the coffee shop before 4 ☺️

We had some free time and found this place. It was great. There's so much to see. I was bummed to learn you can't see the rest of the house until after labor day, but it was still awesome to see.

We hosted my baby shower at Ford House. It is a beautiful setting and the service and guest experience was top notch! All the staff were so helpful and accommodating! They made sure we were taken care of and went above and beyond to ensure the shower went as smooth as possible. The food was delicious and was served timely. I cannot say enough good things. I would highly recommend hosting your event at Ford House!

I have been enjoying the Edsel Ford House in all of its seasons; wandering the paths along the lake and around the property, exploring the house and meeting it's historians and dining and connecting in the Visitor's Center.

Loved it! What a great way to spend a day with a family! It was listed online that museum opens at 10am, but, in fact, it's just a visitor's center hours, museum opens at noon. It's ok though, there are plenty of things to see in a visitor's center and plenty walks to take around the grounds. Edsel and Eleanor Ford house was one of the most interesting museums I have been to recently. Loved their house and couldn't stop admiring the playhouse they had built for their daughter. Wonderful stroll through the gardens. It is such a beautiful estate!!!! Highly advise to go visit!

Outstanding. A wonderful job has been done to preserve the mansion while keeping the supporting buildings contemporary, clean, and modern. This was a great experience. For $10, you can walk the mansion and the grounds for as long as you'd like. The landscape and walking trails with all the trees and the view of the lake is fantastic.
